Hello, folks. So, when John first started talking about doing a WWF 1985 set, I thought that would be cool to play. Then I watched the Guest Booker: Kevin Sullivan (re-booking WWF 1984 w/o Hulk Hogan), I started thinking more about it.
Well, the cards look awesome and having them in the desktop allows me to play quicker and more often.
With that being said, I understand that this could be an insane undertaking, so some changes had to be made. Each week will contain a minimum of 2 cards. This will allow me to do TV tapings for Superstars and Challenge and the other show to be for All-American Wrestling and dark bouts used for compilation tapes. There will be bigger shows most weeks, but since I am basing the stops on actual stops from that time, I am limited to the arenas they ran. I will also be running all 3 SNME, War To Settle the Score, Wrestlemania I, and the PPV debut with Wrestling Classic on their proper dates.
Now, some of you are thinking, this guys doesn't even know that Superstars and Challenge started in 1986....Well, I do know that but it will make it easier to just call them that because we all know that Superstars was the A show and Challenge was the B show. I am keeping All-American Wrestling (for now) and maybe debuting Prime Time wrestling eventually.
I am using a mix of cards right now and thus some finishers are different. I am starting with the WWF Champions as of 1/1/85 and will begin working from there.
The Champions are:
World Heavyweight: Hulk Hogan Intercontinental: Greg Valentine World Tag Team: Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch
Where you like what I'm doing or not, feedback is always welcome. I am going to try and make this fun and a worthy read. If you have something to add/say, I'm listening. Enjoy

Bout #1: US Express vs. The Moondogs - A great way to open the year, as both team put forth a solid effort. Rotunda and Windham look like top contenders for the tag gold and showed that here tonight. Barry scored the pinfall on Spot after a huge double-dropkick.
Bout #2: Nikolai Volkoff vs. Corporal Kirschner - As Nikolai sang the Russian national anthem, the Corporal stormed the ring and huge brawl broke out between these two huge men. The ref had a hard time getting an kind of order, but ultimately got the match started. That did not last long, as both men went to the floor and started bashing each other into everything at ringside. The referee had to DQ both men, but Kirschner gained a moral victory by forcing Volkoff to retreat to the back.
Bout #3: Hillbilly Jim vs. The Iron Sheik - The former World champion looked impressive, as he took the much bigger Jim down to the mat and did not let him get off any real offense. The Sheik worked over Hillbilly's neck and back, setting up the finish, as Jim had to give up while the Sheik locked on the deadly Camel Clutch.
Main Event for All-American taping Bout #4: WWF Intercontinental Championship Bout Junkyard Dog vs. Greg Valentine (c) - JYD had the crowd squarely behind him, as he took it to Valentine. JYD used some hard slams, but Valetine seemed to be getting stronger as the match went on. JYD started using some hard headbutts and Valentine decided that he should roll out of the ring. Greg took his belt and walked out, as the referee counted Valentine out. JYD wins the match, but Greg Valentine retains his title.
Dark Matches These may be used on future home video releases
Bout #5: The British Bulldogs vs. Lanny Poffo & Tony Garea - Garea is considered to be one of the greatest tag team artists of all time, but Poffo is not on the level of Garea's usual partners. Dynamite and Davey Boy exposed Lanny weakness and exploited it for the win, as Dynamite used a tombstone piledriver to take the win.
Bout #6: Cowboy Bob Orton vs. Pedro Morales - Orton opened up early on Morales and refused to let up. Orton showed off his outstanding agility and delivered a bone-jarring second rope power slam, but was only able to score a two count. Advertised Main Event: Bout #7: WWF World Heavyweight Championship Bout Moondog Spot vs. Hulk Hogan (c) - Spot attacked with his bone right off the start. Hogan was taken by surprise and was hurt by the sneak attack. Spot took it to the champion and it looked very bad for the Hulkster. Hogan then began to Hulk-Up and the crowd grew to a fever pitch. Hulk worked his way through Spot's punches and kicks and opened up with his own offense. The Big Boot and the Big Leg Drop spelled the end of match, as Hogan retains his title. After the bout, Hogan does his pose-down routine for the adoring fans.

Piper's Pit: Rowdy Roddy Piper was joined by King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd, and Bobby Heenan. Before anyone joined Piper, Roddy started running down Hulk Hogan, who has a match with Piper at several upcoming cards, including the War To Settle The Score in February. As Heenan and his men joined Piper, Studd and Bundy made it very clear that they wanted to get their hands on not only Andre the Giant, but Hulk Hogan and anyone else who gets in their way. The crowd showered all 4 men with loud boos and started chanting for Hogan. As the interview was drawing to a close, Piper and Heenan shook hands and agreed that they may have future business concerning Hogan, Andre, and the World Title gold.
Bout #3: David Sammartino vs. Barry O - David has lived his father's shadow for his entire life and he is trying to break out of it. David directly at Barry and did not let up. A more aggressive David used some hard hitting moves to soften up Barry and then finished the bout with a huge Powerslam.

Superstars Main Event Bout #5: The Hart Foundation vs. The Young Stallions - Bret and Jim have started to gel as a team and looked outstanding in this main event. Quick tags kept a fresh man in the ring for the Harts and Roma was caught on the Hart's side. Bret scored the win after nailing Roma with the Hart Attack.

Bout #5: Tony Atlas & Ivan Putski vs. Jose Luis Rivera & Salvatore Bellomo - The two big men overpowered both Bellomo and Rivera. Not much of a contest, as some hard slams and power moves were used pretty much at will. Ivan nailed Jose with the Polish Hammer to score the pinfall for his team.
Challenge Main Event Bout #6: The Spoiler vs. Blackjack Mulligan - Mulligan, a former WWWF tag team champion, knew that The Spoiler was a tough opponent, even if the fans did not. The Spoiler went for some high impact moves, but ultimately the sheer size of Mulligan was just too much for The Spoiler to overcome. The Spoiler could not use his Double-Underhook Suplex on Mulligan and hurt his back trying. Spoiler turned around into Mulligan's famous Blackjack Claw for the win. The fans were on their feet cheering for the big man's win.

Bout #6: Don Muraco vs. Tito Santana - These are two of the top contenders for both the World Championship, as well as the Intercontinental title. This bout was drawing a lot of buzz with the fans before the show. Don was not going to let Tito get the early advantage, so he hit him as we was coming through the ropes. Don tried to end this early, but Tito would not allow the Asiatic Spike take him out. Tito battled back and nailed his Flying Forearm on Muraco, but they ended up to close to the ropes. Muraco was in bad shape, but would not go down. Muraco used a vertical suplex to set up his Hawaiian Hammer for the win in this great match-up.
Advertised Main Event Bout #7: WWF World Heavyweight Title Bout Nikolia Volkoff vs. Hulk Hogan (c) - Hogan stormed to the ring with Old Glory in his hand, waving it proudly, as the big Russian looked waited in the ring. Big clubbing shots pounded Hogan's back, as Hulk tried to regain his feet. Hogan was able to get to the ropes and get up to his feet. Volkoff continued the attack, but Hulk started getting that look in his eyes. The fans felt it and started cheering Hogan. Hulk started to Hulk Up and turned the tables on Volkoff, slamming him down hard to the mat. Hulk ripped off his shirt, as the crowd popped. Volkoff staggered to his feet, but the Big Boot sent him down and then the Big Leg Drop finished him off. Hogan posed for the crowd after his title defense.

Bout #2: David Sammartino vs. Rusty Brooks - David is determined to break out of his father's shadow and again this week is dead set to prove his worth. David pounded the over matched Brooks and never let him get a move off. David used his Powerslam to take the victory.
Bout #3: "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Jr (w/ Roddy Piper) vs. SD Jones - Jones faired better here than last week against Bundy, but not much. Orton showed why is one of the greatest talents in the business. Orton used the Superplex to take the win. After the bout, Piper took the house mic and got into the ring. Piper: Hogan...you yellow, son ova gun, you! You can't hide, Hogan. I'm coming for your nice shiny gold belt there, Hulk. So keep it nice and shiny for me, because I am coming for that belt. Piper drops the mic and the two of them walk out.
Bout #4: Hoss Funk vs. Jim Powers - Hoss (aka Dory, Jr) maybe an old hand, but he is still dangerous in the ring. The strong Jim Powers definitely has the better looking body, but spent the majority of the bout on the mat, in pain. Hoss used his Texas Cloverleaf to take the win.
Bout #5: The Spoiler vs. Dr. X - The Spoiler was still smarting from that loss last week to Blackjack Mulligan and is looking to get a rematch. This week he had to deal with the pesky Dr. X. Spoiler took the fight to X and used his Double-Underhook Suplex to take the win. He is focused on getting his hands on Mulligan.
Superstars Main Event Bout #6: WWF World Tag Team Title Match Tony Garea & Lanny Poffo vs. Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch (c) - Tony held his own against the two big bruisers with the gold, but eventually Lanny was tagged in and both Adonis and Murdoch started taking Poffo apart. Adonis nailed a DDT to retain the tag titles.
--Intermission--
[glow=red,2,300]Challenge[/glow] Bout #1: Tony Atlas vs. Salvatore Bellomo - Atlas teamed with Putski last week and they looked like they could be a team to deal with in the future. This week they are both in singles action. Bellomo is a big guy, but Atlas doesn't even notice, as he uses his Gorilla Slam to finish the bout.
Bout #2: US Express vs. Johnny Rodz & Jose Luis Rivera - Barry and Mike know that they will get a title shot in the near future, so each of these bouts are merely warm-ups. Barry and Mike made quick tags and used several good double-team moves effectively. Windham used his Bulldog to take the win this time.
Bout #3: Pedro Morales vs. Rusty Brooks - Th former champion started slow this week, as Rusty scored some early offense. Pedro, with the crowd behind him, make a big come back and used a Boston Crab to win.
Piper's Pit: Rowdy Roddy Piper, w/ "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Jr, has Terry Funk as a guest this week. Piper cracked a few jokes about Funk smelling like a barnyard. While Orton and Piper thought this was funny, Funk did not. Funk: I may not much of a good lookin' guy, but I am tougher than any of these egg-sucking dawgs around here! You run you yap, but you don't look like much otherwise. I am not in any mood to play with you two....I am going to the ring to mess up pretty-boy Roma!
Bout #4: Terry Funk vs. Paul Roma - Terrible Terry was full of fire, as he hit the ring and attacked Roma. Terry used all of his dirty tactics to lay a beating on Roma. Terry won with his Texas Piledriver.
Bout #5: Ivan Putski vs. Rick McGraw - Not much of a contest, as some hard slams and power moves kept McGraw pretty well grounded the entire match. Putski fed off the crowds energy and nailed Rick with the Polish Hammer to score the pinfall.
Challenge Main Event Bout #6: Paul Orndorff vs. Corporal Kirschner - These two big men have very different styles. While both love to use high impact moves, Paul is much more of the technician, while Kirschner is a brawler. Paul opened early with some hard kicks, but Kirschner answered back with his own hard shots. Paul's skill started to shine through, as he used his measured elbow to help set up the win, as his Piledriver spelled the end of Kirschner's night and the losers share of the purse.

u]Week #3[/u] 1/12/1985 Philadelphia, PA - House Show broadcast on local TV
Bout #1: David Sammartino vs. Johnny Rodz - A good opener, as David came out like a house of fire and kept pouring on the offense. Rodz answered back with a few shots, but David used his hard Powerslam to down Rodz. David has been working very hard to break out of his father's huge shadow and is looking to get a title shot down the road.
Bout #2: Moondogs vs. The British Bulldogs - These two teams have been battling on TV from the start of the year and the bad blood has been boiling up. Dynamite and Rex start the bout out, as Rex tried to overpower the smaller Dynamite Kid. Dynamite's speed quickly turns the bout to his favor and he tags in Davey Boy quickly. They nail a big double dropkick, which sends Rex bouncing out of the ring. Spot comes in and nails Dynamite with the bone from behind. The ref tried to get Spot and Dynamite out the ring, which gave Davey Boy an opportunity to go to the floor and start battling with Rex. Davey Boy goes to slam Rex on the floor, as Spot comes through and nails him with the bone. Dynamite, behind the ref's back gets to the top turnbuckle and dives out on Spot. The ref had no choice to throw the match out and DQ both teams.
Bout #3: Tonga Kid vs. Ken Patera - Tonga Kid tried to hit some fast early offense, but Patera countered with an overhand right and then a shoulder ram into the corner. A beautiful suplex set up the Swinging Full Nelson for the quick win. Patera has to be forced by the ref to break the hold, but eventually does, but not until Tonga Kid had passed out. The crowd was furious at Patera for his actions, even if he thinks nothing of it.
Bout #4: WWF World Tag Team Title Match US Express vs. Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch (c) - Adonis and Murdoch started by nailing Rotunda before the bell and isolating him in their half of the ring. Murdoch used hard punches and boots to slow down Rotunda and Adonis did the same when he tagged in. Adonis went for a bulldog, but was shoved off by Rotunda. Mike made the hot tag to Windham and Windham opened up with some great offense on Adonis, as the fans started getting really behind the US Express. Barry tagged in Mike, who delivered a beautiful standing dropkick, followed by a jumping leg drop. Barry came back in and used a huge flying forearm. Barry used his Bulldog to drive Adonis' head down hard into the mat and went for the pin. 1.....2......Murdoch is in to break it up. The ref got in Murdoch's face about coming in, which was went Murdoch slugged the ref in the stomach. Rotunda threw a great dropkick to Murdoch, knocking him out of the ring. Barry and Mike nail a double dropkick on Adonis, while the ref is getting up. Mike locks on an abdominal stretch and Adonis starts screaming from the pain. The ref calls for the bell and the crowd explodes! The US Express celebrate, as they have just won the bout. The ref takes the belts, as Howard Finkel announces that the referee has award the bout to the US Express by DQ.....so Adonis and Murdoch retain the gold! {crowd boos!}
Bout #5: Don Muraco vs. SD Jones - Jones is a big man, but everyone needs their knees to stand. Don used hard kicks to the legs and knees to slow down the big man. Don used a rolling neck snap to keep Jones down. Muraco used the Hawaiian Hammer to finish off the big hometown hero. Muraco got serious heat here in Philadelphia as he beat down SD Jones.
Bout #6: WWF Intercontinental Title Match Tito Santana vs. Greg Valentine (c) - Tito is looking to get his gold back and tonight presented a great opportunity for him to achieve his goal. Tito used some quick armdrags and dropkicks to gain an early attempted pinfall on Valentine, but could not keep Greg down. As it has been said in the past, the longer the bout goes, the better Valentine gets. This was true here as well tonight. Tito went to lock on a Figure 4 leglock, but the master of the Figure 4, Valentine was able to block it and score a near fall out of an inside cradle from that attempt. Greg used some of his pattened chops and a neckbreaker to set Tito up for the Figure 4. He got it on, but Tito got the ropes. Greg released the hold and chopped the legs out of Tito. Greg locked it on again in the middle of the ring, but Tito fought hard to reverse it. Tito was insane pain, but was trying to turn it over. Tito almost had it, but Greg cranked down hard and Tito had to give up.
Bout #7: The Spoiler vs. Blackjack Mulligan - This match started before the bell as both men started brawling on the floor. Spoiler nailed Mulligan with a steel chair, but caught mostly Blackjack's arm. Spoiler went low and while Mulligan was doubled over, he nailed a jumping chair shot from the apron. The ref is trying to get them in the ring to start the bout, but both men are fighting to hard to hear his instruction. The ref rings the bell and starts counting. Spoiler and Blackjack both roll in and the brawl continued. Spoiler kneed Mulligan hard to the stomach and then used a rope walk elbow smash. Spoiler tried to use his Double Underhook suplex to score the pin, but only got a 2. Mulligan battled back and nailed Spoiler with a big boot to the gut. Mulligan slapped on a choke lift to deliver a modified choke slam. Mulligan slapped on his Blackjack Claw, but Spoiler was not moving and the ref counted Spoiler's shoulders down.
Main Event Bout #8: Special Tag Team Attraction Andre the Giant & Hulk Hogan vs. Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy (w/ Bobby Heenan) - Bundy and Studd try to attack Hulk and Andre, but they thwarted that attempt. Hogan ripped the shirt off and the fans exploded. Hogan started against Studd and both men felt each other out with some collar-and-elbow tie-ups and power moves. Studd drove a hard knee to Hogan's mid-section, which allowed Studd and Bundy an opportunity to cut Hogan off from his partner. Good tags by Heenan's men and a solid use of their impressive size had Hogan hurt in their corner. Bundy Avalanched Hogan in the corner and Hulk went down hard. 1.....2......NO! Hulk kicked out. Bundy started pounding Hulk, as he started firing himself up. A fast tag to Studd, but the same result. Hogan was "Hulking Up" and nothing could hurt him. Hogan landed a few big punches and Studd staggered into the wrong corner, where Andre grabs him and nails a giant headbutt. Studd stumbles into the big boot from Hogan and then the Big Leg Drop for the 1.....2.......3! (HUGE POP!) Hogan and Andre have won the main event here tonight, but nothing has been settled and we know that their will be more clashes in the future. Hogan and Andre play to the fans after the bout is over, as cheers rain down on the two victors.

Week #3[/u] 1/17/1985
Salisbury, MD: All-American Wrestling taping & House Show
All-American Wrestling
Bout #1: The British Bulldogs vs. Salvatore Bellomo & Barry O - The Bulldog's are just coming off the crazy double DQ in Philadelphia with the Moondogs 5 days ago. The Bulldogs seemed extra focused here, as they didn't allow any offensive moves to be landed against them and Davey downed Barry with his Running Power Slam.
Bout #2: Tonga Kid vs. Lanny Poffo - Lanny opened with some quick moves, but Tonga Kid ended that abruptly and nailed his Diving Headbutt for the win.
Bout #3: George "The Animal" Steel vs. Rusty Brooks - Poor Rusty didn't know what he was getting into here, as George did not want him in the ring with him. The Animal kept tossing Brooks out of the ring until he finally was unable to beat the ref's count, giving Steel a countout win.
Interview on a podium w/ Mean Gene Okerland. His guest, WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan. MG: Champ, it's great to see you again! How have you been, Hulk?
HH: Well, you know Mean Gene, Hulkamania has been running wild lately...and everyone seems to see that there is no slowing it down!
MG: Well, Hulk, everyone except Roddy Piper that is.
HH: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Piper is nothing but an annoyance, because he keeps running his mouth on his little Piper's Pit and he thinks that attacking me when I am not in the building will get him a win over me. Piper has nothing but a bunch of talk.
MG: But it seems like people are listening, champ.
HH: I know someone is listening, because he got himself in line for an upcoming World Title shot. He must be complaining loud enough to get that lines up and it doesn't matter to me, brother. Hulkamania is gonna run wild all over Piper and that fake cowboy Orton. And, brother, when I am done with Piper and that stooge Orton; I'm sure Heenan will try and throw someone in the way. But it won't matter, brother, because when these 24 inch pythons get a hold of you and squeeze the life right out of ya.....there's nothing can save you, brother. What you gonna do, when Hulkamania runs wild on you!
MG: WOW! Thanks, Hulk! Lets get back to the ring.
Bout #4: Matt Bourne v.s Johnny Rodz - A good little bout here, as two guys trying to move up the ladder did battle here. Back and forth action saw Bourne get the advantage and use his belly-to-belly suplex for the win.
All-American Wrestling Main Event Bout #5: WWF World Title Match King Tonga vs. Hulk Hogan (c) - Usual Hogan fare here, as Tonga scored some hard hitting offense to open and looked to be close to a win, as Hogan "Hulked Up" and made a huge comeback, to the fans delight. The big boot and the Big Leg Drop, allow Hulk to retain his World Title, as the fans go bananas.
Dark Matches
Bout #6: Brutus Beefcake vs. Junkyard Dog - A good bout, as both men traded serious blows back and forth, each playing to their advantage. Beefcake caught JYD with his High Flying Knee and hooked the tights to gain the win.
Advertised Main Event Bout #7: Iron Sheik vs. Jimmy Snuka - The Sheik knew that a win here could help get him back in to the title hunt picture. Snuka wrestled like a man out of his mind, but was unable to score a pinfall on the former champ. The Iron Sheik is a craft veteran and knew that he could use Snuka's wildness against him. He did, as Snuka landed hard on the floor as he attempted a high risk dive. The Sheik used this advantage to get Snuka in the ring and slap on the Camel Clutch for the win.

[glow=yellow,2,300]Superstars[/glow]
Bout #1: David Sammartino vs. Mr. X - David continues to look like a man on a mission, as he destroys Mr. X and wins with his Powerslam. David is undefeated in 1985 thus far.
Bout #2: Moondog Rex vs. Ivan Putski - These two huge men blistered each other with some hard shots, as they each tried to show off their power. Putski won with the Polish Hammer, but this was a much tougher victory than he planned.
Bout #3: "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Jr vs. Barry O - Orton beat down Barry and finished him off in quick fashion with his devastating Superplex.
Bout #4: Hoss Funk showed why he is a true legend of wrestling here, as Lombardi (the bigger man) was tossed around like a rag doll. Hoss won with the Texas Cloverleaf.
Piper's Pit: Rowdy Roddy Piper with "Cowboy" Bob Orton - Piper used his Pit time again to run down Hulk Hogan, calling him "a yellow and red wearing yellow chicken!" He also revealed, just as Hogan had mentioned on All-American, that he had someone's eye and that he was gonna get Hogan in the ring for a title shot soon. Orton, who basically nodded, was still wearing his trunks and boots from his match. Piper and Orton agreed that somehow they would have to get the belt off Hogan, but they might need to hire someone to watch their backs because "cowards like Hogan always come from behind!"
Bout #5: Moondog Spot vs. Davey Boy Smith - This little feud has grown to a fever pitch. Spot used his dog-bone early, but was unable to secure the pinfall. Davey battled back and nailed his Running Power Slam for the win. This feud is far from over, but Davey took a win for his team on this night.
Superstar's Main Event Ken Patera vs. Paul Roma - Patera showed his raw power here, throwing Roma all over the ring. Roma hit a few low offensive moves, but Patera would have none of that and slapped on his Swing Full Nelson for the win.
-- INTERMISSION --
[glow=red,2,300]Challenge[/glow]
Bout #1: Jose Luis Rivera vs. Dynamite Kid - Dynamite wanted to get through this bout quickly, nailing his first 4 moves for the win with a tombstone piledriver.
Bout #2: Jim Powers vs. Mr. X - Both combatants spilled to the floor in this lackluster bout, both being counted out by the ref.
Bout #3: The Hart Foundation vs. Rusty Brooks & Rick McGraw - The Hart's found themselves undersized here, but their technical wizardry prevailed once again, as Bret pinned Rick after the Hart Attack.
Bout #4: King Tonga vs. Barry O - Barry charged across the ring, missing Tonga. He turned around into Tonga's huge Thrust King and 1...2....3! It's over thanks to that huge kick.
Bout #5: The Spoiler vs. George Welles - Welles was a much tougher opponent than Spoiler had planned for, even scoring a near fall. Spoiler's size was too much for Welles and won with his Double-Underhook Suplex.
Challenge's Main Event Bout #6: Terry Funk vs. Pedro Morales - The former WWF World champion again looked flat and unimpressive, as Terry won handily using his Sleeper.

Hulk worked his way through Spot's punches and kicks and opened up with his own offense. The Big Boot and the Big Leg Drop spelled the end of match, as Hogan retains his title. After the bout, Hogan does his pose-down routine for the adoring fans. Ironic, the 1st time the WWF ever came to Louisville, the "main event" was Hogan vs Moondog Rex. Even when I was 12, I wondered, well, I guess we know who is going to win this main event!

Ironic, the 1st time the WWF ever came to Louisville, the "main event" was Hogan vs Moondog Rex. Even when I was 12, I wondered, well, I guess we know who is going to win this main event! LOL! You actually made me laugh really hard with that comment, because I have been trying to bring back the feelings I had watching WWF TV back in those days, and I'm glad someone else shared that.

He dominated Rivera and used his Power Slam to finish off bout. What a great showing. Bout #2: Adrain Adonis, Dick Murdoch, & Jesse "The Body" Ventura vs. US Express & Junkyard Dog - The fans were in for a treat here, as these 6 bruisers battled it out. Adonis and Ventura were tagging in and out quickly early, but Barry made the hot tag and JYD thumped both Ventura and Adonis. JYD was on a roll until Murdoch entered and the two of the blasted each other. Both men tagged out, which allowed Barry to use his Bulldog to down Adonis. The fans really want to see the US Express get their next title shot. Bout #3: Intercontinental Title Match Ricky Steamboat vs. Greg Valentine (c) - A true classic unfolded here, as both men went back and forth trying to one-up each other. Valentine focused his attack on the legs of the fireplug Steamboat. Valentine used pinpoint elbow drops to the legs, to soften up the knee for the Figure Four. Greg went to lock on the Figure Four, but Steamboat went for the small package, but only for two. Valentine powdered out, but Steamboat went right after him. Blistering chops by the challenger had the champion trying to get away by sliding back into the ring. Steamboat eat a knee on the way in, but battled back and stunned Valentine long enough to nail his Flying Crossbody for the win and the title! The Garden exploded, as Valentine grabbed the ref and argued that he had his shoulder up; but to no avail. Bout #4: Jimmy Snuka vs. Sika - This battle of South Island boys here was not the war that we hoped for. Snuka nailed a dive over the top ropes to nail Sika before the bell. A couple of hard bodyslams and the Superfly Leap seals the win for Snuka. Bout #5: Battle of the GiantsAndre the Giant vs. Big John Studd (w/ Bobby Heenan) - Both giants tried to muscle each other in the middle of the ring, having Studd losing the chest bumping match, but answered with a huge right hand. Andre winced at the big blast, but did not stagger him. Studd landed 2 more huge forearm shots, but Andre held his ground. Studd booted Andre in the gut and that obviously hurt him. Studd started pounding Andre in the back and nailed a huge knee lift. Andre staggered backwards, as Studd surged forward, until Andre grabbed Studd by the throat. The crowd roared, as Andre shoved Studd back. Both men started pounding on each other, until Andre gained an advantage and Studd rolled out of the ring. Andre followed him out and Studd tried to use a chair, but Andre ripped it out of his hands and threw it down. Both men got back in the ring and began pounding each other. Andre nailed Studd with his giant headbutt and was setting him up for the kill. Heenan jumped up on the ring and punched Andre in the back. Andre grabbed Heenan, as Bundy slid in and nailed Andre. The ref had to DQ Studd, as the Heenan Family attacked Andre. Blackjack Mulligan stormed out to the ring and made the save for Andre. -- Intermission-- Bout #6: Border War: Terry Funk vs. Tito Santana - Terry Funk wrestled liked a crazed man. Tito nailed some hard hitting moves and set Funk up for the Flying Forearm, but the impact drove Funk to the floor. This was Tito's downfall, as on the floor Funk is king. Terry took it to Tito, using the ring-post to crack Tito's skull. Funk dragged the former IC Champion into the ring and nailed the Texas Piledriver for the win. Bout #7: Blackjack Mulligan vs. Mr. Fuji - Mulligan wasted no time pounding down the Devious One and threw him around the ring. Fuji, well past his prime, looked overwhelmed and Mulligan finished it off with his Blackjack Claw. Bout #8: Main Event: Hulk Hogan & Hillbilly Jim vs. Roddy Piper & Bob Orton, Jr. - The fans have been looking forward to Hogan and Piper clashing, but Piper and Orton had other ideas. Hillbilly Jim, who is a huge man, was the focal point of the Piper/Orton attack plan. Working on the legs early, Jim could not tag in Hogan. Several times Orton goaded Hogan into the ring, allowing double-teaming on the big hillbilly. Hogan tried to rally the crowd, as "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff made his way to toward the ring. Hogan caught sight of Orndorff and started jawing at him. Hogan still reached out for the tag, but Paul walked by Hogan and grabbed his boot. Hogan, full of fury, jumped down and blindsided Orndorff. The ref raced over to stop Hogan, which allowed Orton to piledrive Jim on a chair in the ring, slid the chair out, and allow jump on Jim. Orton dragged the ref over and he started counted pinfall, as Orndorff held the champion. The crowd began to throw garbage, as Piper, Orton, & Orndorff powdered out and left the Garden. Hogan took the house mic and tried to calm the crowd, before there was a riot. Hogan: Piper....Brother, I am tired of your antics.....The next time we are here at the Garden, I want you one on one in this ring! I will put the title on the line, brother..But you need to show up. Do you have the guts? What you gonna do, when Hulkamania rumbles over you!

Bout #1: David Sammartino vs. Tonga Kid - David kept his hot streak going, as he dominated the Kid and again used his Powerslam to earn the win.
Bout #2: King Kong Bundy (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Steve Lombardi - A total squash (in more ways than one), as the "Walking Condominium" nails the AVALANCHE for the 5-Count victory.
Bout #3: Jesse "The Body" Ventura vs. Barry O - The Body looked good here, as he made quick work of Barry. Jesse spent more time posing than wrestling, but still scored the win with his Body Breaker.

-- Intermission --
Dark Matches
Bout #6: Hillbilly Jim vs. Don Muraco - It's not often than an opponent has a size and weight advantage on the former IC champ, but Jim enjoyed these advantages. What he did not enjoy was the beat down that Muraco laid on him, as Don used his raw "beach bum" power to take the southern boy down. He finished Jim off with his Hawaiian Hammer.
Bout #7: The Masked Superstar vs. Jim Powers - The Masked Superstar has made his way North and is looking to establish himself against the young kid, Jimmy Powers. Powers started fast and nailed his first few offensive moves. Superstar is a ring veteran and used a Powers mistake to gain the advantage. Superstar used his Cobra Clutch to take the victory.
Advertised Main Event[/i] Bout #8: Jimmy Snuka vs. Iron Sheik - Sheik, the former World champion, was screaming at the crowd, as Snuka came out to a warm reception. Sheik's focus was squarely on Snuka and as soon as the beloved superstar stepped into the ring, Sheik blasted him. The Iron Sheik pounded away on Snuka and would not let him gain any footing. Sheik pounded on Snuka so much, that Jimmy rolled out of the ring to regroup. The fans rallied behind Snuka and fired him up. Snuka bounded back into the ring and began firing back. Snuka's fire was too much for Sheik and Snuka was able to nail his Superfly Splash for the win.

Bout #3: Sika vs. Rusty Brooks - These two big battled here, with Sika getting the advantage thanks to Brooks not knowing his opponent. Brooks tried to nail Sika with a headbutt, which sent himself to the mat, not Sika. As Gorilla Monsoon would say: "Oh, don't hit a South Island boy in the head! You never win that battle." Sika hoisted Brooks up and won with his Samoan Drop.

Main Event for Challenge Bout #6: WWF Heavyweight Title Match Dick Murdock vs, Hulk Hogan (c) - Captain Redneck used his years of dirty tricks to slow the Hulkster down and had Hulk reeling from the shots to the knees and back of the champ. Hogan grabbed his eyes, after Murdoch gouged them repeatedly, ignoring the ref's warnings. Murdoch had Hulk in bad shape, when he nailed a bodyslam. Hogan, drawing power from the fans, would not stay down. Murdoch kicked Hogan in the ribs, but the champ powered back up and to his feet. Murdoch nailed Hogan with a clothesline, but it had no effect. He bounced off the ropes and nailed a huge lariat, but Hulk just got more pumped. Murdoch came off the ropes again, but ran into the big boot. Hogan dropped the Big Leg Drop and scored the pinfall, to the crowds delight. Hogan then posed down after the bout for all his fans.

Just guessing, since Hogan was on in the middle of the card, he was flying out for another show in another town?
