I always thought "Elder" wasn't as bad as people made it out to be but it was made by KISS and a concept album of KISS is the equivalent of Larry THe Cable Guy receiving a college degree in Physics!!!

I cant help but to love that album, KISS is my all time fave rock band...it was just The Elder was so different from everything else they had done and have done...there are some really great songs on that album, The Oath, World without Heroes, Dark Light, Under the Rose, forget it.. I love every damn song on the album, even the somewhat annoying "I"

Oh i love KISS also my fav as well, Elder was interesting but no one would accept it from KISS if Genesis or Rush had done it, it would have been considered a classic, oh well! They made up for it with "Creatures of the Night", heaviest thing they ever did

Maiden Rocks though Dance of Death was dismal Dance of Death had few good songs. Montesegiur, Rainmaker, Face in the Sand, Wildest Dreams, and Paschendale were all good tunes. I could listen to Maiden play "Mary had a Little Lamb" and be happy as a clam.

I was driving in the car with my dad first time I heard time in a bottle....when he told me the story of that song (Croce wrote it for his own son) it made me tear up. Been a huge fan since.

This will change roughly hourly, depending on my mood...
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Guided by Voices - Isolation Drills, Under the Bushes, Under the Stars, and Bee Thousand
Warren Zevon - Warren Zevon and The Wind
Husker Du - Flip Your Wig and New Day Rising (hard to pick just one from the above three--three strong and hugely deep catalogues if you include the rest of Bob Mould's stuff. Mould's a wrestling nut and former booker for WCW in addition to being an alt-rock god.)
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Henry's Dream and Kicking Against the Pricks (I don't think Nick's ever recorded a bad cover song)
Tom Petty - Damn the Torpedos and Southern Accents
The Flaming Lips - Transmissions from the Satellite Heart and The Soft Bulletin (though I might be the only Lips fan on the planet who didn't care for Yoshimi... at all)
Beatles - Revolver
Sun Ra - Jazz in Silhouette
The Clash - London Calling
Green Day - American Idiot
I think that's enough for now...

Kiss-The Elder isn't bad, but I prefer Alive II (I think it's II; the one with the live version of my all-time favorite Kiss song-God of Thunder).
Metallica-S&M
Megadeth-Cryptic Writings
Megadeth-Countdown to Extinction
Disturbed (All 3)
Linkin Park-Meteora
Top Gun soundtrack
And others I can't remember.
Take care,
Jay

Good topic! This list could change about 100 times, but I'll take a stab at it:
1) Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction (even though Dalton thinks Axl sounds like a goat!) 2) Alice in Chains - Dirt 3) Johnny Cash - Anything by JC! (it's my list, and I'll break the rules if I want!) 4) Social Distortion - Sex, Love & Rock n' Roll (finally going to see them in Chicago or Minneapolis this fall!) 5) Brother Trucker - Self titled debut ( Local Iowa band, alt-country style, very cool guys and a great band.)
