Just read that both Matt Morgan and Mark Jindrak will be on the next 'Tour' that NJPW puts on. Also on the tour will be ex nWo enforcer Scott Norton, who is a very respected and veteran of New Japan. (I like this move! Brock v. Norton as a 2nd or 3rd defence would be interesting)
Masahiro Chono & Hiroyoshi Tenzan team up together numerous times in what is a 'tag team' themed tour, with only a handful of meaningful singles matches (Morgan and Jindrak both have one on different nights).
Its interesting how their tours are booked, with 9 card in 10/11 days...and then a break. This is also new head booker Choshu's first 'at bat' so to speak.
No word if Brock will be making an appearance, but if he is, chances are it will be in tag action.

Just some tidbit about the new booker and some of the 'tension' he's had with other wrestlers. Here is what one former rival had to say about Choshu's return...
- Nishimura is the most vocal about hating the idea. Nishimura and Choshu had a feud late last year to early this year that got violent, ending with Choshu beating Nishimura bloody at Sumo Hall in February and getting DQ'd for refusing to break the Scorpion Deathlock. Nishimura blamed Choshu for his cancer in one of the most controversial comments of recent years. He said he'll be anti-Choshu throughout life, and almost dared Choshu to try and fire him, saying he'd quit before he had the chance.
Blaming your cancer on a rival...now THAT is heat!

When he was a kid he idolized Mick so much that one day he jumped off a roof and the secret to "why is Eugene retarded anyways?" question is answered. He then becomes a monster heel and they put him in cage and have Christy whip the crap out of him at ringside.

Except Eugene wasn't retarded until he hit WWE. He was perfectly sane and healthy in OVW.

Here is a link to a couple of clips of Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shinsuke Nakamura from their DVD's. These two are seen as the future stars (they're already about 80% there) of NJPW and are currently the IWGP Tag Team Champions. dvd.njpw.net/*click the 'flash movie' icon to the left and right of the posters/pictures of the wrestlers.

Here are some Card results from the recent NJPW Tour that is going on. Not too many familiar names to North American fans...Scott Norton, Matt Morgan and Mark Jindrak...but plenty of interesting developments as New Japan re-organizes and re-builds. **Results courtesy of www.puroresufan.com/NJPW/BNJ "BLACK HOLE IN BEPPU B-CON PLAZA", 10/22/05 (Samurai! TV) Beppu B-Con Plaza 1,800 Fans 1. Naofumi Yamamoto beat Hiroshi Nagao (9:58) with a crab hold. 2. Ryushi Yanagisawa beat Yujiro (8:36) with a right kick. 3. NJPW, 10/23/05 Nagasaki Prefectural Gymnasium 2,000 Fans 1. Ryushi Yanagisawa beat Akiya Anzawa (5:57) with a right kick. 2. There seems to be a bit of a build up to a Nakamura/Tanahashi v. Chono/Tenzan Tag Team Title match sometime during this tour or the next one…or perhaps for Jan 4. Matt Morgan and Mark Jindrak lose again…with Jindrak once again getting pinned. Tiger Mask gets another win over a CMLL import. Norton and Blue Wolf win in tag action. NJPW, 10/24/05 Kagoshima Arena 2,000 Fans 1. Yujiro beat Akiya Anzawa (7:27) with a kakaekomi crab hold. 2. Takashi Iizuka & Masahito Kakihara beat Ryushi Yanagisawa & Hiroshi Nagao (8:58) when Iizuka used a sleeper hold on Nagao. 3. Shinsuke Nakamura & Hiroshi Tanahashi beat Scott Norton & Mark Jindrak (13:21) when Nakamura used a cross armbreaker on Jindrak. 8. Masahiro Chono & Hiroyoshi Tenzan beat Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi (16:40) when Chono used a Shining Yakuza kick on Nakanishi. *NOTES: Chono/Tenzan are now 3-0 on the tour…this time winning an impressive victory over Nagata and Nakanishi, who are two of new Head Booker Choshu’s close allies. The Tag division is starting to look very interesting. Matt Morgan remained unbeaten in singles with a win over Yamamoto, while IWGP Tag Champs Nakamura and Tanahashi got back on track with a win over Scott Norton and Mark Jindrak…with Jindrak once again getting pinned. Looks like they are really putting Jindrak through the New Japan ringer to start (he must still think he's in WWE)…but this might be a way to slowly build him up by showing how he improves over the course of this tour and beyond.

I like the sounds of Norton, Jindrak and Morgan. They could make an interesting team. 3 very different sized guys. I can't wait to get some of these events on dvd.

More results from the recent tour as well as news regarding the wrestlers lining up to challenge Brock Lesnar for the IWGP Heavyweight Title.
Kumamoto Hungnam Hall 1,050 Fans - No Vacancy
1. Naofumi Yamamoto beat Yujiro (7:32) with a backdrop suplex. 2. Minoru beat Starman (8:21) with a cross kneelock. 3. Koji Kanemoto, Tiger Mask & Ryusuke Taguchi beat Black Tiger, Sangre Azteca & Hirooki Goto (14:36) when Kanemoto used an ankle hold on Azteca. 4. Black Strong Machine & Akiya Anzawa beat Tatsumi Fujinami & Hiroshi Nagao (7:28) when Machine used a Scorpion Deathlock on Nagao. 5. Yutaka Yoshie beat Mark Jindrak (8:21) with a diving body press. 6. Takashi Iizuka & Osamu Nishimura beat Blue Wolf & Ryushi Yanagisawa (9:29) when Iizuka used a sleeper hold on Wolf. 7. Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi beat Scott Norton & Matt Morgan (10:28) when Nakanishi used an Argentine backbreaker on Morgan. 8. Shinsuke Nakamura & Hiroshi Tanahashi beat Masahiro Chono & Hiroyoshi Tenzan (16:17) when Nakamura used a leg & neck stretch on Chono.
*NOTES: IWGP Tag Team Champs Nakamura/Tanahashi def Chono/Tenzan in a non-title match. Chono and Tenzan have been lobying for a Title match on the tour, so its not clear what this loss will do for their future hopes. Scott Norton and Matt Morgan teamed up in a monster team, but lost to TEAM Japan members Nagata/Nakanishi...who remain very credible contenders to the Tag Titles. Also...both Nagata and Nakanisi have made it known that they would like to face Brock Lesnar one on one for the IWGP Title in the future. Nagata is a former Champion himself, and would be a good opponnent for Brock.
Mark Jindrak continued his tough road as he lost in one on one action to Yutaka Yoshie. Young Lion Yamamoto also got an important singles win in the opening match.

JINDRAK WINS! JINDRAK WINS!!!
Okay, its not that big a deal, but if you've been following along, you know that Mark has been taking his lumps early in his NJPW career...but he won his frist match against O. Nishimura.
NJPW, 10/27/05 Fukuoka West Japan Exhibition Hall 1,200 Fans - No Vacancy
1. Naofumi Yamamoto beat Yujiro (7:31) with a backdrop suplex. 2. Hiroshi Nagao beat Masahito Kakihara (6:03) with a crab hold. 3. Koji Kanemoto & Akiya Anzawa beat Minoru & Sangre Azteca (12:58) when Anzawa used a German suplex hold on Azteca. 4. Tiger Mask & Ryusuke Taguchi beat Black Tiger & Hirooki Goto (15:33) when Taguchi used the Dodon on Goto. 5. Mark Jindrak beat Osamu Nishimura (11:32) with an inside cradle. 6. Takashi Iizuka & Yutaka Yoshie beat Matt Morgan & Ryushi Yanagisawa (10:26) when Yoshie used a diving body press on Yanagisawa. 7. Masahiro Chono & Hiroyoshi Tenzan beat Scott Norton & Blue Wolf (15:36) when Tenzan used the TTD on Wolf. 8. Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi beat Shinsuke Nakamura & Hiroshi Tanahashi (18:00) when Nagata used a backdrop hold on Tanahashi.
*NOTES: Nagata/Nakanishi def IWGP Tag Team Champions Nakamura/Tanahashi in a non-title match. With Chono/Tenzan def Nagata/Nakanishi earlier in the tour, and Nakamura/Tanahashi def Chono/Tenzan...this makes things very interesting in the tag division.
Chono/Tenzan defeated Scott Norton and Blue Wolf in tag action to run their record to 4-1, while Tiger Mask got a small measure of revenge against Black Tiger in tag action...though neither was involved in the pin.

*NOTES: Chono/Tenzan win again...this time against the 'other' team in the hunt for the IWGP Tag TEam Titles...Nagata/Nakanishi. Norton, Morgan and Jindrak beat the IWGP Tag Team Champions and Ryushi Yanagisawa...but neither Nakamura or Tanahashi were pinned. A 3 man Masked CTU team won their match...while Black Strong Machine, a very vocal enemy of Head Booker Choshu, got a victory over youngster Yamamoto in just over 5 minutes...hmmmmm.
This tour has really been interesting, with a lot of the backstage tensions bringing an extra element of mystery surrounding the booking. The Tag Team division has been a focus, but tonights card had quite a few singles matches which was good to see. Choshu has said that this tour, for the most part, was not booked by him as he had not been given his new possition yet. However, he has made a few changes.

In a 30 minute thriller, Masahiro Chono and Hiroyoshi Tenzan defeated IWGP Tag Team Champions Nakamura and Tanahashi to WIN their 5th (most ever) IWGP Tag Team Titles. Nakamura and Tanahashi announce after the match that despite a strong partnership, both men will be going their separate ways. Also, Scott Norton was totally destroyed by Manabu Nakanishi in under a minute, with Norton apperently suffering a pretty ugly injury (work or real?) in the process...while Matt Morgan and Mark Jindrak lost in tag action...with Jindrak once again taking the fall.
