OK, so I've been playing this game for a while now and something just struck me a little earlier that I thought I should bring up here. Is there an official list of pronunciations for some of the wrestlers/managers and planets? I ask because I was stumped the other day on the correct pronunciation of Aethra (and then Aethran/Aethrans). So I think there should be an official list of how to pronounce things in the CotG universe.
And I still say KRACK-en. Big Time

I agree with the pronunciation for Kraken. I pronounce Aethra as A-Tra (as in the letter A).

Whenever I've heard Tom say it, he says (A-thren).
Tom has also said it's (Crock-en).

Massif should be pronounced ma-SEEF, so that the name actually sounds a lot cooler than it looks.
Go check it on dictionary.com if you don't believe me.

I've always said Aethra like urethra....if you take my meaning. And I say Kray-Con. I'm sure these are both wrong.

Kray-Con is a fair guess, considering the fact that the monster in the second Pirates of the Carribean movie (Kraken) was pronounced that way. But then there is nothing about Invincible Krakan that resembles a giant jellyfish, so I digress...

Funny you should mention this. I was considering devoting one of my podcasts to this topic, so that there would actually be an audio record of the "official" pronunciations (meaning from Tom where dictionaries don't cover it). Is there enough interest in that happening? Seems like there is.
For what it's worth, nobody (me included) says Deimos as it is in my dictionary. You can either say DIE - moss, or DAY - moss. (As in the grassy stuff that grows on the north side of trees, not "mohs.") I have yet to hear any COTG fan say it either way. For years I've been saying DEE - mohs and can't seem to fix it in my brain, although my job as an audio book narrator requires me to know how to say things correctly.
Anyway, who's up for this?

wow, that's a good one. Although dictionary.com does offer DEE-mohs as an acceptable pronounciation of Deimos.

Mark I think that's a tremendous idea and something I for one would be very interested in hearing. So that's one vote for sure.

According to Tom, Krakan is like Dokken - it rhymes with rockin' But I never pronounced it that way.

The Filsinger pronunciation of Krakan is correct as far as I can tell from the sources I use for my job. I started off as a kid saying it with a short "a" sound (CRACK - en), but have since converted.
Meant to mention Massif, too. Both pronunciations (MASS - if and ma - SEEF) are okay in Webster's, but Tom has said MASS - if, which I use also.
I can find a whole lot of star system and moon pronunciations real easily. As for characters, the creators will likely have to be consulted.

Nah "Krock-en"'s how it's pronounced in the original Scandinavian, and "Krack-en"'s closer to that. Pintel: Well we ain't original Scandinavians, are we? Ragetti: It's a mythological creature, I can calls it what I wants!

I could agree with that somewhat - as much as Tom seemed to push him as the 'face' of the GWF at times. Although, he was excellent for me after his upgrade in 2110-2111 or whatever.

Although, he was excellent for me after his upgrade in 2110-2111 or whatever. It was out of respect that I tried push after push for Wolf....but he never rose above mid to upper mid card for me. Won the lesser belts frequently, but I don't think ever made a real dent in the top title ranks.
