What do you think is the best boxing movie?
I think there are lots of great boxing movies. I went with Rocky but I also really liked many of these other movies such as the Hurricane and Cinderella Man.

How can anyone vote for anything other than Rocky Although I did enjoy Million Dollar Baby as well, but come on, it's Rocky!!! |

I actually liked Rocky 2 better than Rocky.
Guess I'll go against the grain but I really found Cinderella Man much better than Rocky. Million Dollar Baby was decent, but very depressing.

there has been a lot of boxing movies I do love, but most of all I love watching movies about a real boxer, but I must state I love my sly movies.. so Rocky does it for me...

I can't believe this is even up for discussion. Hands down Rocky, all 6 of them.
Ali is behind Rocky only because it tells a different story. Unlike the others, this one isn't just a story about an underdog who made it to the top. This tells about the life and controversy of Muhammed Ali. Will Smith did a perfect job at playing Ali.
Actually if it weren't for Ali (the man not the movie) Rocky may have never existed.

Raging Bull I think should be getting a lot more votes IMO. I love Rocky and all but Raging Bull was a brillant movie with so many different layers.

Agreed. Considering it was one of Sly's first efforts, he knocked it out of the park. I loved Rocky I, II, III....hated IV (mostly because Apollo needlessly got killed off), thought V was respectable, and VI was outstanding. |
