I am very excited about finally being able to meet Tom, but I have a few questions that someone can maybe pass on to him, or can answer themselves. 1) Will this just be a "Hi", autograph, move along kind of thing, or can we stick around and chat with Tom? I know he'd probably like to do that, but I don't know what the store's rules will be. 2) Do we have to purchase the book, or something else, to get an autograph, or can I bring like my Dark Menace card or something? 3) When it says let you know if we want Tom to bring something, what would he bring? Like if we ordered something so he could hand deliver it, or??? Thanks in advance for any answers. I want to make sure what I can do and can't do before I go to meet the man! Well, one of the men, anyway. Mark and Kris are "the man" too. Take care, Ray G.

No, no, yes.
You can certainly hang out and talk to Tom. It's not an autograph signing or anything, although he'll gladly sign the book, the DM card or anything else if you'd like. And yes, if you want something specific to buy that he wouldn't already bring with him (like the boxed sets) then let him know and he'll bring it along.

Matt's responses are right on the money. With three hours to work with I'm anticipating there'll be time to visit and talk. I'm looking forward to seeing you Ray! I'm not planning on bringing much game stuff beyond intro box sets so let me know if there's something you'd like me to bring by private email and I'll pack it. I'm already counting down the days!

First, I'd like to say that when Tom asked for suggestions a while back for his trip to LA, I gave him the lead on The Comic Bug. Thank you. hold the applause.
Secondly, I just want to say how excited I am about the opportunity to meet Tom. I have some really cool Tom-related art that Werner did that I'd like him to sign plus I'll definitely be picking up a copy of the book.
Frankly..I'm ebarassed to say that I'ma little giddy just thinking about it. *tee hee*

Cool beans...thanks for the answers. I am really looking forward to this! Pure Hatred, don't feel bad about being giddy because when I read the story on Tom coming out here, my jaw dropped and I said, "YES! I am so there!" See Tom, you're like the...er...Elvis of COTG. Or something...I don't know.

The trip from Fresno, Ca to Manhattan Beach should take about 3.5 hours, according top mapquest. Hopefully, the LA traffic will not be too bad.

The trip from Fresno, Ca to Manhattan Beach should take about 3.5 hours, according top mapquest. Hopefully, the LA traffic will not be too bad. I now laugh menacingly. I would recommend you make a day of L.A., because if you plan to arrive on time for the show, you'd sit in traffic and probably miss the event. You're taking SR-99 to I-5, right? Things will run smoothly possibly through the Grapevine, but begin to bog down near the SR-14 interchange. It will be stop-and-go until you approach downtown L.A., where every freeway jams. If you have someone with you, you're going to have an upper hand. Take I-110 (Pasadena Freeway when you get on, which turns into the Harbor Freeway) south and merge left, where you can use the double-deck carpool lane. Then take I-105 west toward LAX (the carpool lanes have interchanges, so you don't have to get into regular traffic). Exit at Aviation Boulevard and drive south to the comic book store. On that note, are there any SoCal fans interested in carpooling to the event? Let me know.
