I thought originally that Tom T. was working on Files 3 before Online came out. Did something specific happen to prevent the book from getting done?

Tom T did do a lot of the work on the new files bios. However the decision was made to make the bios an offering exclusive to Online for the time being. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a new files book, but its not in the immediate plans.

I'm probably missing something, but if all the profiles are done and online then why is it an impossibility to copy and paste each one in alphabetical order and make it a pdf? Yeah there is some work involved I just don't see it being as hard to do as you are making it out to be. Tom was working on the files as the previous two to be done as a book and then it was used solely for online.
Any pdf offering I see as being virtually free money for Filsinger Games as that information, whether it be the files info or the game handbook, is already done and online when a pdf is made available. As for the files, it wouldn't have to be continually updated as each online entry is, possibly every so many years it gets updated to the current game edition.

I don't remember stating that anything whatsoever was an 'impossibility.' I SPIT on that word! I'm guessing you misread my post as I actually say, " Eventually, it'd be absolutely possible to list all current entries in alphabetical form, organize the documents, and format them so as to be a printable pdf." Tom Filsinger made the choice to not produce a paper version of the GWF Files last year, and as opposed to the information going to waste, it was suggested to Tom, and agreed upon by himself, myself, and Todd that the information be featured Online. As Todd said, there still might be interest in the 'paper side' of Fed HQ in putting together a brand new book and printing it up. But, I don't speak for that side. When I mention the process as being quite a challenging one I'm speaking for the Online side...more specifically myself. Ty, if you're willing to donate the time and energy into formating all the information contained within the GWF Files 3 book (which goes beyond cutting and pasting in alphabetical order...after all, there is a substantial amount of other information before and after the Profiles themselves...and I think there are various things we all could come up with that we'd like to see ADDED to the GWF Files 3), we'll gladly press it into a PDF and make it available. As a matter of fact, I've offered the opportunity for anyone interested to donate their time and energy to the cause and have already gotten a pm or two. I'll keep everyone posted on how it all goes down. Remember, eventually everything in the COTG catalog can be 'digitized,' and therefore made available in PDF form. Key word = eventually. ~ :-Xsk

I did reread your post and saw it said Possiblity, but after the paragraph above it that said about being a huge undertaking I thought you meant to say Impossibility. Hopefully that is something that can get done in time. I'm still working on the other project that was talked about.

I own both Files #1 and #2, and I don't even really play COTG, and I love both publications. They are definately worth getting, even for those like me, who are strickly LOW players. So whenever #3 comes out won't be soon enough. Kelly
