I know there has to be a cutoff point, but 2121 came out nearly a year ago - seems like we should find a way to get it in there. Well, I may be wrong, but I think the gang might have an online version of the Files in the works to go along with cotgonline. And if they don't, perhaps it's something to think about ....

I think 2119 would be a nice cutoff point. Or you can wait a year and have 2122 as the cut off point when the Subversion story arc ends.

Gotta add 2122 to it. That's a no brainer.

Check out the news page on the main website ya'll. Your answer for the future of the files is there.

Wasn't expecting that but definitely a great idea.

Just to clarify what was on the news page, as well as I can. When COTGOnline first becomes active, the aCe characters will have Files entries which are up-to-date to aCe 2121. As other wrestlers are brought online their Files entries will also become available as up-to-date to their current edition. How quickly these will be updated after an edition comes out is yet to be determined. In fact, as far as I now know, it isn't even settled who will be responsible for updating them. This whole thing is still very up in the air, we are just trying to get the aCe protion ready for when the online set becomes available.
Hope I didn't say anything too off the mark. I'm sure Tom and Kris will work out the details as we go along.

I'm just typing out loud with this one - I have no real knowledge about a timetable on this - but I would think that we could keep the Files info updated shortly after the new sets come out, if not on the day of release. If you're only talking about 10-15 cards in a new set and a few weeks of lead time, I wouldn't think it would be too terribly hard to get everything written and updated. Of course, I'm not writing anything, I'm just putting it in the database. I've got the easy part.

So, is a printed version going to be available or will this only be available via COTG Online?

BDS.
As far as I know it is still undecided who will be writing/updating the bios. I have agreed to continue to update the other data (tag-teams, groups, managers, etc.) and from my experience in doing my fact book for low these many years, on most new sets, in addition to the new wrestlers and updated wrestlers (10-15 cards) there are changes to quite a few other entries also (new tag-teams/groups forming, old tag-teams/groups disbanding, etc.) From my past experience, conservatively, 75% of the active entries in one set will have some change to them when the new set comes out. How quickly I can get the changes made and turned in is dependent on how quickly I get the information, ie, how quickly Mutant delivers my mail.

Since I've had early access to GWF 2122, what I've personally done is take all the information provided to me from Tom Tutweiler (thanks for the awesome research and write-ups) and then tacked on any missing info. All GWF File entries should be completely up to date when 2122 drops next week. ~ :-Xsk

It's Online...in the form of individual character profiles.
All the info from Files 1 and Files 2 is available for any character you 'own' through the Stat Tracker. The info has also been updated so as to be completely current with the latest game editions...and will remain current with every release thereafter.

It's cool that all the info is part of Online, but I'd really like to see it released in hard copy form.

I know the cost of printing a volume that large has to be a consideration, but with only a limited amounts of edition available On-line, some form of hard-copy version of GWF Files would be great.

How about GWF Files #3...the pdf version? If it can be done with game booklets, why not GWF Files #3? I've got some plastic ready to make that transaction!

For the time being, it looks as if the GWF Files 3 might just be one of those circumstances (such as paper CPC and aCe game editions) that is just not feasible to put together in paper form.
Not to mention it really is a huge undertaking to put the information contained within altogether, as well as keep it as current as possible before 'pressing.'
Eventually, it'd be absolutely possible to list all current entries in alphabetical form, organize the documents, and format them so as to be a printable pdf...but currently, and unfortunately, we don't really have the time or manpower to do it that way.
Tom T. did a brilliant job with #2...perhaps he or someone else would volunteer to begin organizing everything. If anyone is interested, PM me.
