Yeah, just got an email about it.
Seemed rather abrupt, but I haven't been there in ages -- was it traffic-less?

Surprised by this
Probably closed because of not enough going on over there on a regular basis

I probably have no idea what I'm talking about, but I think there was some sort of a spat that I don't know details of. What little I know of it didn't seem to rise to the level of blowing it up Tom Leykis-style.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

It didn't have no where near the traffic that this board gets, but it had some good things going for it, especially if you like Legends over Champions. Sad to think that an entire board, with fed results, personal thoughts, and all kinds of creativity can be wiped away by the selfish act of one individual.

Agreed....My fed was in there, albiet only like, 3 new results....I posted them elsewhere as well however....
I'm willing to bet half of the other feds, as well as 90% of the DWA weren't as lucky....It could have been locked up until everyone was given a chance to get what results etc. they wanted....With any smidgen of luck, it's still available somehow, and merely access to the Deuce is unavailable...

FYI, the DWA is still around... we did lose some history, but by and large things are intact. We most definately plan to stay in business, and pretty much all the promoters are still here.
We've re-christened it the LWA, and are currently working on getting our new home set up and ready for the public.

Not that I care, because I didn't go there.....but if it's intended to be re-branded as a Legends-specific board, that email last night did a poor job of communicating that. It was pretty much a "We're done...seeya!"
Again, not that I care. This place has and always will be my preferred hangout. What can I say? It's STRONG.

"Re-Branding" was definately not the intent... the new site for the LWA was more like a life preserver for the fed.

Glad to hear the DWA'ers are going to keep the feds going, the territory thing sounded like a good idea.

Show me the paperwork, and I'll change it Not that I think your comment was in any way serious, but you actually don't necessarily need to register with the Copyright Office in order to receive copyright possession, as long as you can prove that you published it in paper or electronic form.

While I was never a member, I'm saddened to hear that the Deuce is no longer online. The board seemed to have developed its own unique niche and I commend Holland for having been proactive enough to act on his ideals and take the time and effort necessary to provide the CotG Community with an alternative forum for participation. Being an Admin is a thankless task as the level of appreciation one receives is rarely commensurate with the time and patience that has to be invested. In that sense Ingersoll's longevity is highly admirable. One possible (but far from perfect) resource for those looking to find past Deuce material can be found at web.archive.org. Note content is dated six months behind and ‘more recent’ material (if there is any) will likely appear on a month to month basis. A quick check didn't find too many threads going deep (and many not at all). YMMV. Parts of the board can also be somewhat accessed through Google Cache form but what is out there is hit and miss. A while back I coordinated with a few members of 'this board' to assist with the periodic archiving of the CotG HOF and other threads we deemed to be of significant/enduring value. It was and continues to be a very subjective undertaking and content that is of importance and value to other segments of the community is bound to fall through the cracks. Hopefully the CotG Community as a whole can use this as a positive incitement toward coordinating a practical archiving system that protects open source content in the event of something like a Proboard system crash or an outright board deletion. Doing so would not only help to protect immediate access to material for current members...but more importantly serve to protect enduring access going forward. Something as simple as saving the text of a valued thread to a free resource (such as a Google G-Mail Account) can easily serve as a practical means of archiving. Then the material can be quickly resurrected if ever need be. For the greater good of all...we all have the power to do our part in helping to help preserve the many great open source contributions we have encountered over the years.

Show me the paperwork, and I'll change it Considering that I posted the LWA fed links on the Deuce, I'd think that would constitute notice....
