This label must wait until AFTER they win the Super Bowl. If they fail at this task then 16-0 really means nothing in the long run.
Obviously what they have accomplished is amazing, but how embarrassing would it be for them to get knocked off in the playoffs after this legendary run. So until they make it 19-0, they really haven't reached their goals and this label as the "Best Team Ever" is a bit premature.

Eh. They're just setting themselves up for the greatest upset in NFL history when the Browns knock them off in Foxboro in the AFC Championship.
*cough*

Congratulations to the New England Patriots on their historic accomplishment.
The Patriots aren't the team I personally want to win the Super Bowl this year- but they derseve to be recognized for being the first team to ever go 16-0!

Maybe minus the word nothing, of course it means something, but if they get upset in the playoffs, 16-0 won't be as special. Its an impressive feat, but I won't label them as best ever unless they finish, because the "best ever" whomever that may be, would win it all.

I wouldn't say it means "nothing," but a loss would probably put them at the level of the '98 Vikings and the '05 Steelers--teams that went 15-1 in the regular season but got knocked off in the conference championships. And neither of whom are thought of as the Best Teams Ever when a Super Bowl championship would certainly have put them there.

It doesn't mean nothing.
That's ridiculous.
How many teams have gone 16-0? Only 1, the Pats.
That's a HUGE accomplishment. They have cemented their place in history even if they don't win the Superbowl.
Congrats to New England.
Imagine how much better this team could've been if they had given Brady these kind of WRs earlier?

Yeah seriously, of course it matters. Crap, I didn't realize there were so many ex-Dolphins on the board.

How many all-time great teams did not win the Super Bowl - zero. When comparing the greatest teams of all time everyone compares teams that won the Super Bowl. The Pats don't do that they will be considered a great team that choked. If they win the Super Bowl, then they are the greatest ever.
This from someone who badly wants them to win so every member of the 1972 Dolphins craps their Depends. There is not a bigger group of douchebags than those clowns. Go Pats!!!

A good portion of this team has won several Super Bowls already, and this is undoubtedly the best version of the Patriots we've seen. Here here! GO CHARGERS!

Being from "Bear Country" we occasionally hear about how the 1986 Bears were actually better than the 1985 Bears. Why do we not here about them, they did not make the Super Bowl. The Vikings team mentioned earlier was a great team, everyone thought it was a given they'd roll to the Super Bowl. What happened, they lost. You ever hear anyone talk about them as one of the greatest teams of all time??

The Vikings are men where Havoc and the Bears are little girls.
In all seriousness, these Pats are the best football team my two eyes have ever seen. Moss is unstoppable, Brady is superhuman and I won't make metaphors for Welker, Stallworth, Maroney and the rest. The defense is a little old but they are solid and play as a team. Belichek is a genius and a master motivator - I've never seen Moss block before, at least not like he has been.

While I don't cheer against them I don't lose any sleep overanything they do. Regardless of that, how many Super Bowls the Viqueens won anyway?
