These boards aren't what I thought they would be and very few people except me seem to care.
Oh it is a great place to find ideas and to exchange wrestlers, charts and matches, but the civility displayed is below average compared to other boards on other gaming topics.
Name calling and rudeness isn't only tolerated, but it is actually defended. I think the best plan for me is to just skim the boards looking for new things I can download and occasionally putting up some myself. But as far as taking part in dicussions here, I don't believe it to be an enjoyable experience.

Rickert, I think you are letting one person (or small group of people) cloud your opinion of what goes on here. You are taking things WAY too personally. You are reading typed words on the internet. Take a step back & look at what has happened to you from a different perspective. Approach things from that different perspective & relax. Don't let someone(s) spoil your enjoyment of this hobby. It is only an internet message board, not the end of the be all & end all of sports entertainment.

It won't change my investment or enjoyment of the hobby, but it will keep me from contributing on the boards. Why? Because it isn't fun to read personal attacks on me or on anyone else, whether I agree with that person or not. If I can't have fun with one aspect of my hobby, why partake of it. The biggest burr under my saddle is people who are more on the side of the people doing the personal attacks than on the side of the people trying to end them.

There are plenty of personal attacks there. Are so many people here only concerned about themselves that only attacks on THEM are viewed as a problem? What about personal attacks on anybody being a bad thing?

I read the topic, and what Swarm said was a generalized statement about the majority of wrestling fans on the Internet.
How is that a personal attack?
I'm sorry, but it is hard not to find fault with a lot of fans on the Internet. Many IWC fans are not happy with anything, complain about everything, make contradictory statement after contradictory statement and go on and on about good ol' days they have only read about.
If you ask me, many Internet fans set themselves up to be criticized.

If you ask me, many Internet fans set themselves up to be criticized. Many of today's poor and homeless made poor choices that put them in those situations (thus "setting themselves up"), but that doesn't mean it is OK to attack them for being poor. You have to be more of an adult to be tolerant of people than to just blanket attack a group of people for having opinions with which you don't agree.

What does somebody being homeless due to a run of bad luck have to do with some 17-year-old telling me how much better of a promotion the Mid-South territory was than WWE?

We've got people upset about referring to the Deuce as Communist and now we have someone wanting to compare his plight to that of the homeless. Weak. What next, hunger in Africa or the cleansing of the Jews. Man, it's only an Internet message board, what is wrong with you?

You have to be more of an adult to be tolerant of people than to just blanket attack a group of people for having opinions with which you don't agree. Re-read your own words here Rickert. YOU have be more adult to be tolerant of people. If you feel Swarm is being a child...tolerate his behavior & move on. I think everyone here has been a target for Swarm at some point in time. You either decide to accept his choices (because you can't do anything about them) or you let him get to you & get all worked up (which doesn't do you any good because you are letting someone else control your emotions) Its okay to point out that feel like you were attacked by his comments. Just be aware that if you continue to keep beating the dead horse, Havoc is going to be after you for trademark infringement. Its not going to do any good, you know this, so just move on. Swarm is going to keep being Swarm, no matter how much it bothers you.

There are no personal attacks in that thread. There are, however, one or two fragile personas who enjoy playing the victim...

When words fail you it's nice to see you have an alternative form of communication. It's probably your most coherent point in this thread.

You musn't assume you know what's happening here when you don't. I was not personally attacked when I first posted. I was objecting to anyone being personally attacked. So you see those who think I just can't stand to be criticized and am acting like a baby because of it don't know what's going on either.
