Is anyone else looking forward to this movie? I thought the trailer was awesome when I saw it back in the summer and I'm counting the down the days to 1-18-08.

it does look very interesting. I dont really like the PG-13 rating... JJ Abrams has listed Godzilla toys as the inspiration for Cloverfield as it may turn out more sci-fi than horror. I'm ok with that.

what is it about travis ? It's about this guy that keeps deleting his message board membership and then rejoining. It looks quite captivating. Oh, wait, that's Neilyfield. Here's a trailer, stranger.

I saw this movie last night and it doesn't live up to the hype that has been put behind it. It's not a bad movie, and the director had some really good ideas, but they come out better on a 30-second trailer than a 90-minute movie. Ask me what the monster looks like and I honestly couldn't tell you despite the fact the there are some really close up shots. That's not a good thing. But the movie does have a LOT of action going on, sometimes so fast you can't keep up.
I give it a c+

Just got back from seeing it, and while I thought it was a pretty good movie, I can't help but think I've seen this before....it's a total cross between Predator and Blair Witch.

I'll go against the grain and say I loved this movie. After it was done the theater I was in exploded with chants of "REFUND" and booing. My sister and I were baffled, as we felt we'd seen a really good film. Maybe we're the oddballs.

Good...but not great.
Cool...but not awesome.
Original...but not that original.
I LIKED it...but I really wanted to LOVE it.
The refund stuff is ridiculous, but like Matt said - I've defintely seen all of this before.
~ :-Xsk
ps - The Mist had better monsters, more emotion, and was much less watered down. Much less. jmo, of course.

Really liked that movie. Actually I've seen it twice already- once with the girl and once with my brother. How I talked her out of 27 Dresses to see Cloverfield I will never know.
