Just saw Paul Stanley on his solo tour, the last 2 nights. The man still rocks....and the band ( house band from "rockstar") were awesome. The drummer is incredible !!

Steve Minskoff (Akuma the Ninja's creator) knows Paul Stanley and has some very funny stories about him, not the kind that are flattering to Paul, either. Nothing illegal, but just examples of stuff you wouldn't expect a rock star to do. I just wish I could remember some of them right now. I know that most of them contain the phrase, "Oh, Steeeeve!" in a simpering voice.

Paul Stanley will always be cool. He does have his catch phrases down ("Now, people..." when addressing the crowd, and liberal use of "Rock and Roll!" ).
Plus he can afford the cream of the crop studio guys to tour with him.
I believe he was either present or invited to a couple of the Minskoff weddings.

I saw "Phantom of the Opera" in the Pantages (sp?) Theater in Toronto some years back and Paul Stanley played the Phantom.
He was really good. Although he has a slight lisp which I had never noticed on any of his recorded songs.

One of my favorite "Paulisms" is from one of the Alive albums (can't remember which one at the moment.) But in introducing "Cold Gin", he goes through a list of drinks and mentions that the crowd there loves "vodka and orange juice." Chad and I quote this often, with our own Olson brothers variations. All picking on him aside, the guy still rocks.

Thanks, Steel Thunder. After I posted, I wondered if that was actually on an Alive album or just a live track that was put on that five-disc anthology box set that KISS put out about five years ago.

I met Gene and Paul, I think in 1995. They were here on the Revenge tour. Paul's a cool guy, and used to love Gene, but not after that night. Been a fan since I was 8.
