Anyone seen Blades of Glory? I'm a Will Ferrell fan, as well as a Jon Heder fan and was wondering how that one is.

Well, all I can say is Wild Hogs was worth about 15% of the admission price.
Funny story about Meet the Robinsons that goes along with what Jim said about his nephew. I wanted to give my son a special treat yesterday for having a good week at school and with me (since his mother and brother are out of town right now), so I said, "Hey, Nathan, after school and after we get our hair cut, I've got a surprise for you!"
"What?"
"Let's go see Meet the Robinsons!"
(blank look) "No, thanks."
Based on the previews, a 5-year-old who loves anything Pixar turned up his nose at it. So that's saying something.

My little guy isn't a big fan of theaters/arenas, etc. We took him to the circus last year and when the lights went off and the sounds started blaring, it freaked him out. I hope I didn't scar him for life! But I'm already in line to see Spidey, Fantastic Four, Halloween and Transformers.

I figured it was good. One of my students told me he didn't think it was that good, but I don't think he "gets" Will Ferrell humor. I'll definitely have to check it out.

You've got a smart son, Mark. [fatherly brag] He's known at a few places we frequent as the 5-year-old who knows his states and capitals. And not just from memory. He can read them, too. We did not drill him on this. He just chose to do it. We're looking into Ivy league schools. [/fatherly brag]

I teach World Geography and, although most of my students did really well on their states and capitals map test they had last November, I still have some 8th graders who don't know their states and capitals. A couple of them even got Nevada wrong.

Dude, you have no idea how much this kid is into geography. His favorite websites are Google Maps, Google Earth, and the subway maps for Washington and London. He drew us a pretty accurate map of our neighborhood from memory. If there's some sort of cartography mentoring program, I've got to get him into it in a few years. It's his calling!
Back to the movies now. Some dads don't know when to shut up about their kids...

Hey Mark that is impressive for a five year old. Luckly in Canada we only have 10 provinces and 3 Territories. And I know where you are coming from about bragging about your child(ren). Megs is fluent in 2 languages although I don't count the french language. She does love the theatre though. She want to go see Pirates 3, Harry Potter 5, FF 2 and Shrek 3 this summer.

Polly Pureheart I think. Man that movie is going to suck! If it does do well though be prepared for a butchered live action Mighty Mouse.

I don't go to the movies very often, do you think I'm going to waste my ticket on Underdog? I used to watch the show though. Andy would deserve that though, cheating during the battle royal like he did.
