What a peice of crap movie. I read this book as a kid and had waited so long to finally sit down and watch this movie and it sucked balls.
Maybe it's me, but I hate British kids. at least in movies. They just annoy me to no end.
I give this move - 4 swarm stars. horrible.

Yeah, pretty sure it's just you in this case. Nope, sorry Chris, I have to agree with Swarm here. I saw this movie after much anticipation, and it just fell flat. Not enough for me. I felt it was boring. I saw it twice in the theater and that strengthened my belief that the movie was crap. the Minotaurs and the Centaurs were cool, and It followed the book like religion, but it was not a fun ride for me.

Ah, well, you never got back to us with your opinion in last year's thread (now buried somewhere back on page 12, I think).

Well then, is that the fault of the movie or you?
People attending Casino Royale expecting Die Another Day were disappointed too, but that doesn't mean the movie was bad.

Me, i suppose.
Usually there is something that I can hold on to for a movie to be not that bad, but sitting in the theater was absolutely dreadful at times. I could only get up to go to the bathroom so many times, you know?
So I think the movie was crap. It may not have been crap to many, but it was for me.
As the saying goes, one man's garbage is another man's bad movie.
Or something like that.

I didn't think Narnia was as bad as some of the LotR. I'm sure I'll be chastized for this, but LotR put me to sleep at times. Narnia...while not as good as the book or the original cartoon movie, from when I was little, was not that bad. I could watch it, but it's not something I must rush out and buy. In fact, I doubt I'll buy it at all, but still more entertaining at points then the continuous walking in LotR.

Although I am a big fan of the LotR trilology, I agree that there were some very sleepy moments in those films.

I think because I expected it to be "LotR 4" or something Most people I know that didn't like Narnia were expecting something like Lord of the Rings. The big difference is that LotR was made for adults, and Narnia was made for kids/families. Personally, Narnia was one of my favorite movies of the year when it came out.

I thought they did a fantastic job with Narnia. The CGI was fantastic, probably the best to day for a fantasy movie.
It followed the book very well, which is a big plus, I HATE it when they use the name and don't tell the story (Sum of all Fears is probably the worst offender of this)
I LIKE british actors in general, and, in this case, who else were the going to use.. the move is set in London.
I agree it was a little slow in parts, and the big battle scene was pretty tame, but that's because this was made to be a family movie (as it should be, since the books are pre-teen/teen reading). I wouldn't expect blood flying everywhere.
My main gripe is that I think they bad guys weren't made, er, bad enough. You never got much of a sense of doom, it was always clear the good guys would win in the end. I think they were trying to be too subtle with the evilness of the evil Queen.
Overall though, I thought the movie was excellent, and I look forward to future sequels.

I really enjoyed Narnia as well. Thought it started out kind of slow, but the last hour was great.
