I thought the second one kinda sucked. I liked the first one alot and got into the third one, just didn't care for the second one. Maybe I should watch it again. When I saw it I watched it right after I watched Hostel (I LOVE that movie! :-) ) so maybe it was alittle too much gore at one time. But the 3rd movie I thought was pretty cool. I don't understand if Jigsaw & Shawnee Smith (I think she is so fine had a crush on her since her "pregnant" part in Summer School :-) ) are dead. If they are dead then how is a fourth possible? That is gonna be an odd story.

I know some of you are fans of this stuff, but I hope they end this series. My gosh. Now we get a Hostel sequel coming up? Ugh. The whole "torture genre" of horror is really wearing thin. It's the same crap. Like I wanna go pay $10 to go see people get their fingers cut off and watch them sit there and scream about it. I wish Hollyweird would get creative for a change, hire some writers and directors who can put together.....here's an interesting concept.....A TOP QUALITY psychological horror/thriller on the level of the first Scream, and most of the horror movies of the 1970s. Lately, there has been very little of that. Just blood and guts.
Ok, I'm done preaching now. I'm just wishing for the days of the Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, Shining, Halloween, The Omen (not the remake), TCM (not the remakes), Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream (not the sequels), etc.

I agree that the torture gore horror films in mass are getting alittle old although Hostel 2 I am looking forward too, and I love the movies ya mentioned but ya mentioning of Scream twice had me shaking my head. Not that it was a bad movie I watched it and enjoyed but to put it next to The Omen, Shining as a legendary horror movie just seems odd and out of place. IMO :-)

I think Scream is underappreciated, but certainly not on the level as The Shining. I wouldn't balk at someone mentioning it on a list with good horror movies, though.

The original Scream came during a time (mid-90s) when horror movies ... the entire genre ... was nearly dead. Scream breathed new life into getting scared at the time. It reinvogorated horror, thus should be considered a memorable moive.
Still, I agree, nothing beats the horror flicks of the 1970s. Remake them all you want, today's writers/directors/actors/actresses will never be able to reach their greatness.
