When I was on The Strip two days ago to see ROH at the Empire Ballroom, I first stopped off at the office for House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay casino to secure my ticket to see Social Distortion next month! Social D is actually playing Las Vegas all three days that weekend, but for their Friday Nov 30th show I am sitting VIP!

I always thought "Cheating at Solitare: was one of the most creative names for an album title. A good album to listen to as well.

I also really liked the title "Under the Influences" which is the title of Mike Ness' other solo album and which contained only cover songs. Sometime in the future, I hope Mike Ness does another solo album.

Here is a link for Black Kat Kustoms: www.blackkatkustoms.com/index.htmlBlack Kat Kustoms is a business in southern California that Mike Ness started that specializes in custom cars/hot rods. The music you hear when you click on the site is an instrumental song called "Road Zombie" which is supposed to be on Social Distortion's next album and which was the opening song when I heard them play at The Dome in Bakersfield, CA last July.

Thanks for posting this! I've heard them play this both times I've seen them and didn't know what the song was called. Great song!

This video is for the song "When She Begins" which is one of my personal favorite songs from Social D's 1992 album Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell:
They played this song when I saw them live at The Dome in Bakersfield, CA last July and I wonder if they'll play this song tomorrow (Friday) night when I see their show on The Strip.
What can be better than seeing my favorite band Social Distortion perform live here on The Strip here in Las Vegas tomorrow on a Friday night? I can't wait.

I just got back from seeing Social Distortion tonight.
They opened with "Story of My Life" followed by "Reach for the Sky."
Some of the other many songs they played tonight were "Making Believe," "Highway 101," "When She Begins," and "Sick Boys."
In addition, they played some songs they usually don't play such as their cover of "Alone and Forsaken" (tonight they played it at a much faster pace and as a better version from their version of this song that I own as the second song on their singles CD of "Cold Feelings"), "Six More Miles," (a Hank Williams song), and a brand new song that Mike Ness said they just wrote called "You Can't Take It With You."
Social Distortion's encore tonight consisted of "Prison Bound," "Far Behind," and "Ring of Fire."
At tonight's show at the House of Blues inside the Mandalay Bay Casino on The Strip, I sat VIP. I got to sit in a great seat above the stage and this hot chick was my waitress and she kept bringing me beers all throughout the concert right to me at my seat.
Tonight, going to see Social Distortion, was one of the greatest Friday nights of the year for me.

Here is "Bakersfield":
When I saw Social Distorion at The Dome in Bakersfield, CA last summer (just a few hours west of here in Las Vegas), they played this song. It is a new song not previously released on any of their albums.

I listened to Social Distortion's self titled CD last night going to and from work. I had forgotten what an awesome album that is.

Here is one of the songs that I personally most anticipate getting released on one of Social D's future albums. The song, which I heard them play live back in March 2005 atThe Joint (at the Hard Rock Casino) is called "Diamond In The Rough."

In honor of Bazzy's new awesome screen name, here is Social Distortion's "Sick Boys:"
Sick-boy, in his faded blue jeans Sick-boy, black leather jacket seams Sick-boy, he's always in trouble With the law don't ya know...
Sick-boy, he carries a switchblade knife, Sick-boy, likes to get into fights. Sick-boy, he'll go drinkin' With the boys all night long.
[Chorus:] Sick boys-ohwayoh Sick boys-nananana Sick boys
Sick-boy, rides a big motorbike, Sick-boy, combs his hair up just right. Sick-boy, with tattoos up and Down his arms, don't ya know...
Sick-boy, he's got a girl wrapped around his arm, Sick-boy, with his street-like charm. Sick-boy, he'll make love to her All night long, don't ya know...

Although I just saw Social Distortion less than 2 months ago here on 11/30, I now have my ticket to see them live once again next weekend at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay here in Las Vegas next Saturday- 01/26/08! One of the many cool advantages of living here in Las Vegas is that your favrorite bands perform here on much more than just a regular basis.

For the second time in two months, last night I got to see Social Distortion again at the House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay casino on The Strip here in Las Vegas. They played lots of songs I hadn't heard in awhile such as "So Far Away" and some songs such as "Send Her Back" that were on Mike Ness' solo album. Some of the other songs they played were "Cold Feelings," "Ball and Chain," "Alone and Forsaken," "Under My Thumb," "Sick Boys," "Bad Luck," "Born to Lose," "Can't Take it With You," "Reach for the Sky," "Highway 101," "Prison Bound," and "Ring of Fire."
It just doesn't get much better than seeing your favorite band on The Strip on a Saturday night.
