Is anyone gonna go se this movie?
It looks too ridiculous and I'm not really a fan of Jack Black; so I won't be paying $8.00 for this but wondered if anyone else is?

Yeah, it really depends on what else is going on that weekend. We still haven't seen Over the Hedge; this is mostly because Madagascar and Ice Age 2 stunk so badly, so we've been wary of another CGIfest that isn't from Pixar (and even Cars doesn't look that appealing right now).

i plan on going. i would usually get offended at this but it doesn't look like they plan to poke fun a Lucha Libre style. I'm not saying that its going to be movie of the year, but i think its worth my 4 bucks.

Yikes, not a good sign for this movie when a WRESTLING based forum doesn't even seem excited to see it.
Probably won't be long before we can see it on dvd.

I can't find a first run theatre that is under $9.

But any showings before either 4 or 6 (I forget when "matinee" ends) are half-price, so the wife and I only pay $5 apiece. ;D

I saw the movie last night at the Pittsburgh Drive In past the airport. It's a nice set up. It costs six buckes a person, you see two movies (the other being "Over The Hedge") and the concessions are reasonably priced. A cheeseburger is only $1.85, and it's good!
I think the movie was a lot of fun. If you are a fan of either Jack Black (he isn't all over the place like he was in other films), Lucha Libre wrestling (the flavor and moves are the genuine article), pro wrestling (the drama of Lucha Libre wrestlers is similar, really) Napolean Dynamite (same writer and director), or Nickelodean (who made the movie, and a lot of kids were laughing, too!), go and see this movie. It was pretty faithful to Lucha Libre lore, using the wrestlers from that genre rather than getting "pro wrestlers" from the states for some face time. Real life Luchadore Carlos Gonzalez, better known as "Bronco", as the villainous Ramses was pretty awesome. And the two freaky midgets as Satan's Cavemen are off the hook! And Ana De la Reguera is... wow! I look into her eyes, and I am hit with the thunderbolt! She is a talented actress who was great as Sister Encarnacion. I hope this film gets her more exposure to the American audience, as she has a believability about her that translates well on the big screen.
It's worth seeing on the big screen! Trust me!

I wonder if it will be like Dodgeball; stupid while watching the previews, funny as hell to watch the movie?
