This was a helluva movie, I just watched it on Demand. David Cronenberg has always been on of my favorite Directors/Writers/Actors, and Viggo Mortensson really kicks tail in this flick. William Hurt was really funny in this film, the action scenes kicked tail too! You've gotta see this movie!

"A History of Violence" is a thriller about a man (played by Viggo Mortensen from Lords of the Ring) who lives in a small town and becomes a hero when he stops two men from robbing the restaurant that he owns. But the resulting media exposure leads some mobsters from Philadelphia into the town claiming they recognize the man and that he is actually a former mafia assassin who ran away from their crime organization many years ago. I do not want to give too much away but his wife (Maria Bello from "The Cooler" who once again has some great sex scenes) does not even believe the mobsters that her husband is the man they are claiming he is. "A History of Violence" was one of my favorite movies of 2005 and is definitly worth renting on dvd!

The ending is a bit odd. It just seems to abruptly end with no real resolution.

It was also a good graphic novel. Not great but very good. I have yet to see the movie but I would like to.
