We'll i took the family to see Harry Potter 4 and if you haven't seen it already, this installment is by far the best of the bunch. Of course the 4th book was very good and the movie did not disappoint...
If you have young kids you are thinking about taking (under 7) sit close to them...it scared the crap out of my 6 year old who usually doesn't scare easily.
The next movie will likely be a bit of a let down for some as the book has a dark mood to it...those who like gothic should enjoy it when we see it in a few years.

I was told it left out roughly half of the book. I saw it during a midnight show before it really opened, never read the book yet though, so I couldn't say for sure.

It is tough to fit every aspect of a 700 page book into a 2 hour movie.
Minor details were left out, the main story was still intact.
Very good film.

For those that have seen it...
How did they handle the real death of Richard Harris?
Do Radcliffe, Grint, & Watson appear too old for the roles?
Thanks

Richard Harris passed before movie three was in full production- wise, so the new actor took over from the start of "Azkaban". He is good, but Harris' voice was so awesome and perfect for the role. I guess it would be like replace James Earl Jones for Vader's voice ( for me).
The kids are growing up. Daniel Radcliffe is actually 16 or 17, and in this movie plays a 14 year old. They look a little old, especially Ron- he is geting a little big in the shoulders/ chest for a 15 year old.

The actor who replaced him seems very good- but he's usuing his own style and to me Richard Harris WAS Dumbledore. As much for his voice as anything. The kids are growing up. Yeah, I was thinking the same. I've also noticed that they're trying to get the movies out about a year and a half apart from each other to minimize the effect of their aging, so it'll be interesting to see what they do- expecially considering that all of the books continue to get longer and more involved as Rowling goes on.
