This remark is no reflection on the Rock's actual acting talent... but I think as a general rule any film starring a known pro wrestler is "doomed" ... pun intended. Of course there are some exceptions, like I hear the Scorpion King was pretty successful but I've never really seen it. The Hulkster may have really blazed the trail in pro wrestling but his wonderful movie career I'm sure didn't do much for the rep of pro wrestlers as actors.

The high-concept action film stars come in waves. The Rock and Vin Diesel are the Schwarzenegger and Stallone of today. Rock's resume may be a reflection of his talent. If all he does is action films, he'll be typecast, if he isn't already. His wrestling career may have sealed his fate to this niche.

A 73% drop from last week! That's amazing!!! It must be bad What's bad is that all of the movies that he has starred in faded fast. He'd have a strong opening weekend, but the following weeks fall off sharply that his movies end up in second-run theaters within four weeks.
