I don't plan on seeing this movie when it comes because I heard some bad things about it and it doesn't look that good. . Might wait until it comes out on cable
What do you guys think and if you see it post your thoughts on it
I disagree on some of the casting especially Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg? Come on. Boss Hogg was a short fat man not a skinny tall man
Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse? I don't see it

Anything Willie Nelson has done is cool. I think he'll make a great Uncle Jesse. The man is just naturally funny. I grew up on his music, so maybe I'm a little biased.
Burt Reynolds, while he may not look like Boss Hog, will portray the character well.
However, I REFUSE to pay to see this film because the casting director basically pissed on the original series when they hired JESSICA F'ING SIMPSON to be Daisy Duke!!! This is a travesty to anyone who grew up watching the show. I think the Dukes video game will be more entertaining than this movie.

Seeing this movie would be a total waste of anyone's time, unless they're 13 and under.
Ridiculous casting, save perhaps Nelson as Jessie. A complete affront to the series.

I don't remember the series being regarded as high, intellectual art. But I don't remember watching the series, either.

I'll see it during the 2nd run (what we affectionately call "dollar movies") and only because of the goddess that is Jessica Simpson.

I do remember watching the series. My brothers and I were glued to the TV every time it was on.
And what I do remember was car chases, fights, and crooked cops. Not plots, acting, and dialog.
My little bro and I went tonight (FYI I'm 29 and he's 27) and we both loved it. Not like it's an Oscar nominee or anything. But we both thought it felt the most like the TV show of all these recent TV Shows made into movies.
It also reminded me of Smokey and the Bandit and other old 70s car chase movies. Some funny, crude humor. A great bar fight. 2 of the best car chases I've ever seen on film. Great rock and Southern Rock music. Some funny comments about the change in times between the movie and show, especially with the Confederate Battle Flag on the General Lee.
Just a good couple of hours of no brainer entertainment. Not going to change the world. Not the best movie, or even action movie of the summer. Not going to make everyone happy. But sometimes you need a movie that's just fun and pointless.
