OMG! This was a freaking awsome movie! If you haven't seen it yet, run out right this instant and do so! I have not had that much fun in a movie theater in years (and that includes the recent FF flick). The songs are cool and almost annoyingly catchy (Willie Wonka, Willie Wonka..), the Ompa Loompa's aren't orange, but do wear orange jumpsuits and almost look like Gene Simmons with out his makeup. The plot was a bit wonky, but it was still a cool film. And yes, Depp did a terrific job as Willie Wonka. A diffrent style then Gene Wilder, but just as good. Two thumbs way up for this one!

Total agreement. The only part I could have done without was the tacked-on ending, but right up until then I was 100% with this, and even after I'm still 99.5%.
Favorite line? The one that came after "Everything in this room is edible." (I don't want to spoil it...)

Yeah, it's really close to the book. Some scenes are just dead on word for word. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack.
I also can't help but wonder if this is what Tim Burton dreams, then what are his nightmares like?
Can't wait for Corpse Bride.

Nah. They called that movie "Nightmare" but I think that's a good day for him. I mean what is it that really scares the hell outta Tim. I can't imagine.
Although it may be something normal, like how the easter bunny was portrayed in Nightmare.
