Has anybody else seen Land of the Dead? I just saw it recently and really enjoyed it! The film contains lots of genuine suspense (at the theater I honestly saw some people who nearly jumped out of their seats) which by itself I think is a good way to start determining the quality of a horror movie. Overall, I also thought the movie had some good actors (especially John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper). Beyond the suspense and acting, I also thought Land of the Dead was somewhat interesting in how it critiqued a stratified society (in this case the different classes are the rich, the poor, and the dead zombies). While I personally do not rank this movie quite as high as Romero's original "Dawn of the Dead" from the late 1970s, I certainly consider "Land of the Dead" several notches above most recent horror movies and it was well worth the $6 I paid to see it.
