Alright, some of you guys HAVE to play it...We own all the Guitar Hero's (I, II, Encore and III for PS2) and picked up Rock band (PS3) recently as well...Even more recently we downloaded all the songs available (our total is 102) I gotta say, Rock Band is really really sweet...Guitar Hero set the standard, but I think Rock Band took it to a whole new level...The Drums are tons of fun to play and are tough if you've never played drums before (like me)...The Vocals are a lot of fun as well, especially if you have someone who's capable of singing "Don't Fear the Reaper" using the Undertaker's voice... ;D Even making your own characters is fun... All in all it cost a lot to get the game with guitar/drums/microphone, and to download all the songs, but it was totally worth it...Espeically the part where they announced their plans to release 200 downloadable songs this year... So, anyone else (besides Mike McKinney ) play any of these..?

I play them all Splattercat, (I'm not great at any of them) but they're all fun. If you have never played any of these games.... GO BUY THEM!!! I have never played any instrument ever! But these games are easy to pick up and play, and are FUN and addictive.

Enter Sandman gave me issues on drums...Run to the Hills is just bastardly, especially for a beginner that didn't know what he was getting into...

Run to the Hills and Foreplay/Long Time gave me fits. Run to the Hills is murder on the bass.

Enter Sandman gave me issues on drums... A lot of the advanced-tier songs are hell for drums, even on Medium. It's not fair that drummers have to use all five buttons when guitarists only have to use four (except of course on 29 Fingers...). We're rocking the PS2 version, sadly, because the only current-gen system we own is the Wii, but other than lack of DLC, online play (meh), and some customizing options it's the same game -- and as a bonus, the wife can use her Guitar Hero guitar instead of the (probably defective) RB one. We made it to RttH just before the Rumble. Haven't attempted it yet, though...

I'll get Rock Band when Activision and Red Octane adjust their undies and decide to start working and playing well together so I can use my guitars on it. I've got no interest in the drumming, and I can buy a mic elsewhere if I want to do the karaoke parts. Until then, it's Guitar Hero only for me.

Dude... without the drumming there's no reason to get Rock Band. Guitar Hero has the guitar covered -- and with songs more suited to guitarists (no long strings of empty measures), and there are like a dozen karaoke games out there. Literally the only thing RB brings to the table is the drums (and the ability to tie all three/four parts together).

He drums and she sings, but they both suck at the guitar. We find a bassist and then we're golden. I'm just not paying $150 for the privilege when I've already got two perfectly good guitars within arms reach as I type this.

I'm working on the seven-year-old. She's taking actual guitar lessons already, and her hand-eye coordination is much better than the missus'.

Guitar Hero is a great game. Rock Band isn't out in Europe yet but even so I don't think I will get it. I heard it's a bit lonely playing by yourself and I wouldn't be able to get my friends together a lot to have a full four player gaming session. I do love the idea of Rock Band having a large scale downloadable service. Rather then getting yearly instalments like Guitar Hero the possibility of choosing whichever songs you want to download is something I would like to see happen. I doubt it will happen with Guitar Hero though as they seem set on having yearly updates. I won't mind if they throw in more music from my favourite bands though.

I couldn't imagine playing that song on Hard or Expert...For those of you out their that can I SALUTE YOU! Raining Blood on Hard was disappointingly easy. Once I figured out I could scum my way through Mosh 1 by just hitting the red and blue notes and ignoring the rest of them, I beat the rest of it in my first crack at it. I had a much harder time with Knights of Cydonia, but I'm far enough into Expert that even Knights on Hard is pretty easy. I still haven't beaten Lou on Hard, though - I can survive to shortly after he hits me with his second battle power, and then I always lose it. I've decided to ignore it for a while, get to the point in Expert where I'm not good enough to beat anything else, and then go back and try again.

Nah, I just don't get out enough. And I did take the cheap way out of Raining Blood. If I was actually trying to play that mosh part, I'd probably still be on it.
