Judging from this, I would strongly advise against it.

This game, from a gameplay standpoint, was what they needed. It's fun to play, and with the right adjustments of the AI sliders, it's fun for a while. The 24/7 Mode, and just about everything else blows to all hell.
FPR > This.

My biggest complaint of the game is the same as in the past. I can be dominating a match with the opponent beaten to a bloody pulp, yet when the match ends and an after match segment comes on, I'm barely walking out of the ring and the opponent looks like he's a wrestling god. I'm not a video game maker and don't know if its possible but it would be cool to see the segments acknowledge the real results of the match.

I've got it for the wii...and all I have to say is I need a bengay/a535 rub down after every match i play...what with the swinging and flailing and all...man...there's got to be an easier way to kick some ass on the computer....

This is actually the first one we skipped...I think it was the roster, that's always the first thing we look at...Here Comes The Pain had the best Roster by far... We considered, but ultimately, too many other things came up and we decided not to get it...The exclamation point of course was Fire Pro...

I done about 10 online matches now, I probably have gotten off about 5 moves total I suck so miserably online, that it has almost made the whole online thing useless to me.

Yeah, the Wii version takes some getting used to, but it's pretty solid (minus the "waggle mashing") once you get the hang of it.
Of course, without any special matches it's sort of a wasted effort.

Ive tried really hard to get into this edition, but this IMO is a huge step in wrong direction...control scheme sucks and the pace is very slow...worse than SvR '07. Glad I picked up Fire Pro Returns a week later.

You know what they need to do, Especially for Next Gen..? They need to go back to the second Smackdown game and reinvent the MULTIPLAYER career mode, wherein you can use existing wrestlers or make your own...
We had 3 of us in a stable all with CAWs and built ourselves up from jobbers to well, mid-carders before one of us moved away...But we started out, each did our own thing and two of us even got in a feud because I hit him with a chair during a tag match..!! It was freakin' sweet..!!
Anyway, the online applications (not to mention the local multiplayer) would easily eclipse what should be the far inferior (tech-wise) Fire Pro...It's the only Smackdown game that had a Multiplayer career mode like that, and it's sad that they haven't reintroduced that in all these years...

Just got this on PS3 from Gamfly. Not as bad as I had heard, the mechanics are actually pretty fun. I like that the matches actually take some time, rather than being 5 minute arcade matches like previous years. Career mode is boreing as always. I don't like that they removed the stamina button. And this has to be the worst roster ever in a Smackdown game. Crimetime preserved for the ages, wooo.
Is Fire Pro better, hell yeah. But who didn't know that? This is still fun, if not spectacular.
