Hey I know a group of you guys are huge board game fans and we have this one in the shop I have been staring at for some time now called Battle Lore. I have read good things about this game and I think the only reason I havent bought it is the $70.00 price tag. I think the game looks phenomenal and love the idea of the cool expansion packs. Was wondering if anyone here has played the game?

I haven't, but some guys in my gaming group have and they love it. I'm just not a fan of miliary-type games.

I've played it dozens of times and really enjoy it. The card based play, along with cool minis and mostly recordless play, really makes the game play fast while offering a lot of tactical choices. The rules aren't that difficult, though there are a lot of them at the highest level (though to be fair most of those deal with creating custome armies or "war councils"). Luckily most of the important gameplay stuff is summarized on cards that you can keep in front of you and refer to easily in play.

Battle Lore is pretty decent, if you like hex-type war games... its a fantasy version of that company's WW II game, Memoir '44. The guys are really cool, but %70 is a bit pricey. (There are lots of add-ons as well. more info can be found here: www.daysofwonder.com(I'm partial to Ticket to Ride myself)
