I picked this up about a year ago on clearance ( $9.99). It is basically a poor-man's WII. You have a sword as a controller and the base unit detects your swings in real time. In the game you fight your way through all 3 of the movies. Graphics The graphics are 16 bit ( at most) and the sound is very similar to that of a SNES. The characters are your standard bit mapped variety but are very recognizable. All the monsters look like their movie counter parts.
Gameplay This is where the meat is, You can slash, horizantally, veritcally, and diagonal. You also can block in the same 3 directions. You also have special moves which are executed with several sword swipes in succession. Each of these attacks has their strengths and weakness which adds a ton of strategy to the mix. There are tons of different enemies who all have varied attack patterns and pretty cool death animations. You get a sense of satisfaction when you run em through. There are also some cool mini-boss and boss encounters.
I am home sick today and have been playing the heck out of it. If you find this little gem for cheap I would pick it up if you are an old school gamer who values game play over graphics.

It's funny because a few days ago I was off work, and bored, and my wife was working, and my car is in the shop.
So I'm sitting at home..not feeling like playing COTG...not feeling like going online...not really feeling any of my usual hobbies or interests...so I dig through my gamecube games and come across Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. It's an RPG that came out 3 or 4 years ago. I beat it at the time, on the normal setting, and haven't thought about it since.
I decided to give it a try on hard, and it's really fun. If you're a super duper RPG fan you might not like it...it's kind of simple for hardcore RPG people. But if you like LOTR it's really fun. You can find it for 5 bucks used too, so check it out.
