Things are getting crazy. Massacre won the annual King of the Ring Tournament, so he'll get a shot at whomever is GWF Galaxian Champion in August. TitanExpress pulled off a major upset and defeated the Mercenaries to become GWF Tag Team Champions. Raven was set to defend the GWF Galaxian Championship against Chaos in July, but before he made it to that match, he gave Matador of M83 a title match, which Matador won! So Matador of M83 is the Galaxian Champion!

Mike: I was joking about the TitanPower & Greek Gods thing, I get more then anyone some peopme have better luck with different cards ...That said...they still sucked for me.

I just finished up an off the books, GWFF kinda thing. From time to time, I run "Set tournaments" to get the general gist of who's best from each set. I started in 2094, and did 2095 as their own tournaments. I ran a combined tournament of 2096, 2097, and 2098 to figure out who was best overall there. Past winners for your viewing pleasure, and to see that this does not mean the winners are the best: 2094: Doomsday Creature (Runner up Dreggs) 2095: Raven (Runner up Pegasus) 2096/2097/2098: Colossus (Runner up Janus) I do these tournaments, because...well...their fun. Way it works, is it's a double elimination tournament, using the most even number I can find of singles wrestlers. Generally, you get a decent idea of who is good, whose not, but in the long run, these tournaments mean nothing more then a couple hour diversion. So with no further ado: 2100, 2101, 2102, 2103 & 2104 double elimination tournament: I have two Blazing Skull cards, and two Zouave, and thus only their "offical" cards are used in the tournament. The total number of people in the tournament from each set are: 2100: Five 2101: Four (Five with Heracules) Birthday Bash: Three 2102: Three 2103: Five (Seven with Ram & Justice) Son of Bash: Five 2104: Two (Four with Monad & Sheik) Total: 32 Order of Elimination (Suffering two losses) 32: Vyper (2100) 31: Cannibal (2100) 30: Blizzard (2103 / Son of Bash) 29: Cycle Hog (2100) 28: Gila (2101 / Birthday Bash) 27: Eagle (2101 / Birthday Bash) 26: Exo-King (2103 / Son of Bash) 25: Darkos (2102) 24: Karah (2103 / Son of Bash) 23: Zouave (2103) 22: Holocaust (2103 / Son of Bash) 21: Mandrill (2100) 20: Scourge (2103 / Son of Bash) 19: Meteor (2101 / Birthday Bash) (Do not ask...Mixup of some form...) 18: Ram (2103 / SE) 17: Brainstorm (2103) 16: Blazing Skull (2103) 15: Heracules (2101 / SE) 14: Max Sheild (2100) 13: Jack of Diamonds (2103) 12: Monad (2104 / SE) 11. Talisman (2104) 10. Mad Jester (2101 9. Dark Justice (2103 / SE) 8. Terminus (2103) 7. Vengeance (2101) 6. The Draconian Sheik (2104 / SE) 5. Nefarus (2102) 4. Malice (2104) 3. Pulsar (2101) Runner Up: Buck Steele / Genocide (Winners Bracket Winner) (2102) Winner: Pegasus (Losers Bracket Winner) (2101) Statisitics: Sets with amount of top ten finishes: 2100: None 2101: Four (Pegasus, Pulsar, Vengeance & Mad Jester) 2102: Two (Genocide/Steele & Nefarus) 2103: Two (Terminus & Dark Justice) 2104: Two (Malice & Draconian Sheik) Sets with top fifteen finishes: 2100: One (Max Sheild) 2101: Five (Pegasus, Pulsar, Vengeance, Mad Jester & Heracules) 2102: Two (Genocide/Steele & Nefarus) 2103: Three (Terminus, Dark Justice & Jack of Diamonds) 2104: Four (Malice, Draconian Sheik, Tailsman & Monad) Top Twenty: 2100:One (Max Sheild) 2101: Six (Pegasus, Pulsar, Vengeance, Mad Jester, Heracules & Meteor(...)) 2102: Two (Genocide/Steele & Nefarus) 2103: Seven (Terminus, Dark Justice, Jack of Diamonds, Blazing Skull, Brainstorm, Ram & Scourge) 2104: Four(Malice, Draconian Sheik, Tailsman & Monad) So...To summarize, by this tournament, to calculate the sets in their abilities of singles wrestlers: #1: 2101 #2: 2104 #3: 2102 (Had a finalist) #4: 2103 #5: 2100 I somewhat think a tag verison would have different results..but thats for another day. Some of the more interesting things out of the tournament were preformences by wrestlers I wasn't expecting. Nefarus is far stronger then I thought he actually was, and was only beaten by #3 Pulsar, and tournament winner Pegasus. Talisman was also very surprising, being game for everyone he fought, and winning several of his matches. He seemed to bypass his subpar Lv2 offense to get to Lv3, where he kept most of his opponents with rock solid offense. His overall decent chart stats saved him many times too. Monad proved he is an absolute beast on offense, but almost as weak as a kitten on defense. When he was avoiding charts, defense, and agility moves, he tore up the opposition in spectacular ways. Dark Justice is a good upgrade from Justice, and seems far more interesting as a heel then he was as a face, while Terminus proved to be a rock solid, if not spectacular wrestler, who could systematically take out his opposition. He's not he style of wrestler who can win a match in two rolls, which might make him boring later on. Max Sheild was the only 2100 wrestler to make the top twenty, and he barely made the top fifteen. Mandrill was the second closest, barely missing the top twenty at twenty one. Malice is plain awesome, as he took out everyone in his path before meeting up with the one two punch of Genocide, and then Pulsar. Even in defeat, Malice managed to make sure that he put a hurting on his opponents, and won many of his matches with the Fields of Malice to the floor, only against Pulsar did that backfire on him to his defeat. Pulsar barely missed out on the finals, losing in his very first match, but then going on a Ricky Morton-like spree in the Loser's Bracket. In each of his matches, he took massive damage, but pulled out the victory from the jaws of defeat. He ended up losing to Pegasus, mainly because he refused to use Acid Rain to get the advantage. Buck Steele & Genocide transformed in every match, but Genocide proved to be more damagable then I had originally suspected. He took damage in most of his matches, but only lost once to Pegasus in the very finals (Final match is one fall, win or lose) after having beaten him to win the Winners Bracket! The Corpus Genocide proved to be impossible for Genocide to hit in the Finals, and in a war fell to Pegasus. Pegasus more then proved that he is the hero leader the booklets protray him as, as he didn't even need Project Pegasus most of the time to win his matches. His overall game may be the best ever, and he doesn't even need a gimmick to be so good, which is refreshing in a day and age where it seems like most main eventers need a gimmick of somesort to win. Pegasus has exceptional stats, offense, defense, and a single +4 finisher, he's a throwback to Thantos in a way. Pegasus had some rough matches, including a loss to Genocide when he managed to pull off the Corpus Genocide, but Pegasus managed to squeek by Pulsar in the Loser Bracket finals, and then took it to the gigantic Genocide in a war, before finishing him off with a "Bone Crunching" Clothesline. I did this yesterday, but my internet was out all day

Another post by me, yay!
I just ran July 2098, culminating at the Galactic Lottery, my yearly random pairing tag tournament that has been going on since 2090. This year saw the traditional format. Sixteen wrestlers, eight teems randomly selected, and three title matches.
The first title match saw The Gamemasters defend their GWF Tag titles for the second time against The Gladiators. The Gladiators haven't held the titles in over four years, and were looking to retake their glory. The Gamemasters weren't going to let that happen, and fought back in a good back and forth match. In the end of the bout, Star Warrior & Thantos nailed the Endgame, and without anyone in their corner, Brute was pinned by the spectacular finisher.
Cannibal prepared to make his Twenty Second Inter-Planetary title defense, but was against someone who hadn't gotten a title shot before: Heracules. Heracules has had a slow 2098, but in recent months has turned up the volume with three consecutive pinfall victories including one over Matador with the Olympia. Heracules came out strong, using his power to keep the sadistic Cannibal at bay. However, he soon made a rookie mistake and took the battle in a new direction of a brawl. Cannibal made Heracules pay dearly for that, and over the course of the rest of the match, used the Throat Slit to torture Heracules. Finally, the referee had seen enough, and declared Heracules, nearly a bloody mess at this point unable to continue. Cannibal's 25th month as IP champion comes to a close with yet another bloody victory.
Bishop Hell has had the GWF title for eight months now, becoming the longest reigning champion since Dreadnaught in 2092. However, he faced a challenge from the man he beat for the title: Raven! Raven has fought all year for a chance to re-challenge for the title he lost, and after months of trying, finally earned his title shot. Raven was the heavy favorite, but just like in November of last year, Bishop Hell attacked Raven from behind before the bell could ring, and the match proved to be almost a repeat of that title match. Raven fought valiently, but Bishop Hell's constant use of Hellfire proved to be too much for Raven to overcome. After a little less then eight minutes, Raven was out for the count again, his dreams of a title reign ruined.
The Galactic Lottery came down to Kati & Pegasus v.s. Wolf & Quasar. Wolf attempting his second Lottery win, and led Quasar to a dominate preformence in the match, beating Kati with the Savage Face Claw. Wolf & Quasar now had to fight their fourth match each to see who would get the GWF title shot in one month. Once again, it was a close contest, but Wolf proved to be too strong for Quasar to deal with, finishing off the Titan with the Savage Face Claw. For the second year in a row, Wolf goes into a GWF title shot having won the Galactic Lottery, will Galactic Anarchy 2098 be his event to finally win the GWF title? Bishop Hell says...No!

Nicely done Hawk! I can't imagine Bishop Hell will be able to fend off Wolf... I think Wolf will take over as champion! Then again, I would never have expected Bishop Hell to defeat Raven, either.

From my memory...
He's beaten the likes of Matador, Heracules, Defender, Quasar, Killer Queen, Wolf, Dreggs, U.S. Patriot, Splatter, he won a tournament where he beat Mace, Splatter & I think Wolf all in one night...Beat Vanity in three moves. Pulsar Prime, and I think Dragonmaster.
His only loss was in May 2097, when he fought Star Warrior for the GWF title. Beyond that, he's been unbeaten for his entire reign, and a month before that...and if you disregard his minifeud with Pulsar, where he was pinned once (To lose his IP title then), he hasn't been beaten more then twice in almost three years.
He's a god.

Earlier this afternoon, I completed 2093. My final card "Star Wars 7" (my version of Wrestlemania) saw three wrestlers win their first singles championship. Alpha Force finally won the Galactic Championship from Chaos after he pinned Chaos with the ULTIMATE FORCE. Lance At-Las won his first belt when he defeated the Matador of M83 in a cosmic cage match for the Heavy Metal Championship. Also, Massif finally won his first singles championship after wrestling for almost seven game years (although he briefly twice did hold the IP Tag Team Championship along with Earthquake) when he pinned the Bounty Hunter for the Interplanetary Championship.
However, Bruce and Massacre are STILL Galactic Tag Team Champions (since October of 2090). They defeated New Order in a match I had built up for awhile. I like Brute and Massacre but it will be interesting to see who finally defeats the Gladiators to end the longest title reign in the history of my fed.

Nice on the Massif title win. He was GWF champion for awhile for me, but he never did win a secondary title.
I still don't get how the Glads could be so dominate for everyone else BUT me...but...I guess thats theway the dice rolls.

Just finished up August 2098...Aiming to finish off 2098 pretty soon. I want to try and cram as much COTG in as I can before I go back to school. Justice scored two big wins during the month. First, he shocked the galaxy when he pinned Matador of M83 100% clean, and then followed that up by beating Tendron in the opening match of Galactic Anarchy 2098. Justice, even with his partner retiring, has appeared as a credible threat again. Chaos & Dreadnaught fought once again, after having several matches in years past. Their first encounter was actually for Dreadnaught's GWF title, which Chaos lost the match. The two titans fought back and forth, both with alot of momentium going into the match. Chaos looked finished when the Alpha Stone crapped out, but Chaos fought back, and finished the tired Dreadnaught with the Bow of Defeat. Chaos looks to be the next challenger for the GWF title! Heracule's good form lately (Including his loss to Cannibal) completely fell apart, as Splatter took him to the workshop, before bashing him over the head with Arsenal for the win. Post match, Splatter called out Cannibal *AGAIN*, and challenged him to a match before the Deathmatch tournament in October! Titan Express, 2098's biggest surprise fought New Order, the greatest tag team in GWF history in an epic match with both teams taking great amounts of damage. Dragonmaster ended up having to go alone, after Pulsar took a vicious beating, but DM wasn't good enough to take out both Dreggs & Mace alone, making the New Order the new #1 contenders...but, one has to wonder if they'll actually get to challenge for the titles if Mace goes into the Deathmatch tournament in October, as an injury could vacate the titles if they win them in September... Star Warrior & Thantos continued their excelent tag team form, completely mauling The Demons of Hydra, without even letting Hydra tag out, finishing off the young assassin with the Endgame~! Cannibal faced possibly his biggest challenge yet, in the form of Lord Nexus for his twenty third defense. Lord Nexus was favored in this battle of veterans, but Cannibal wasn't about to play along. From the opening bell, he attacked Lord Nexus, and brutalized him. Nexus tried to fight back, but Cannibal's attacks were unrelenting. Cannibal was not even put on his back for a one count the entire match, and left Nexus bloody for the Stoppage win from the Throat Slit. Cannibal's 26th month as IP champion ends with him victorious, and yet another champion with their own blood pouring out of them. The main event saw Bishop Hell defend the GWF title once again against the man who won the Galactic Lottery for the second year running: Wolf. Wolf came out strong, giving Hell a fight from the opening bell...However, Wolf kept letting Hell get chances to mount offense, and it was only a matter of time before the Hellfire was thrown. To his credit, Wolf fought on, but several Flying Crosses and Hellfire's were all it took despite Amazonia's best efforts to give Bishop Hell the victory, and his tenth month as GWF champion. Sad night...I was rooting for both Nexus & Wolf.

great stuff here Hawk! I was doing 2095 a while back, but just don't have the time to play much! When I was playing Star Warrior was the champ. Chaos had put Alpha Force outta action for while via the BOW OF DEFEAT over and over. Gladiators were beating everyone and knocked down the Animen (Badger and Ram) off the top spot.
the WAR gang was making their debut, with the mystery man getting into the Gladiators business and driving them crazy! Lord Nexus and Matador of M83 were having stellar matches (probably the best matches ever!).
Other than that, I think that was all that was going on. I wish I had more time to play, I really like this time frame. there are so many wrestlers in that era that are my favorite! Just some really classy matches!
great topic, Ray

I thought about making a post in the fed forum for this, but...screw it. I'm not that motivated. Plus, I must support this topic! September was polished off a few minutes ago, with some of the biggest news in the last few years. First, I'll start with the traditional Trial By Fire, my elimination tag tournament. In the first round, The Royal Court(Exo, Jack & Defender) all survived, along with all three of the Hitmen for Hire, and so did the Titans(Nexus & TitanExpress). The only team to not survive all in tact was Raw Power, who defeated my created group of Inner Rage, when Dynamo defeated all three of the other members (Kati, and my two bootlegs Antarg & Ragnarus) by himself. The buffer match between the first & Second rounds was a GWF Tag Title match between current champions The Gamemasters & The New Order, the best tag team in GWF history. This was a contender for match of the year, as both teams just warred from the opening bell. It was more luck than skill that led the Gamemasters to win the match, but they did win the match with the Endgame, in what could go down as one of the best GWF tag title matches ever. Second round saw the Royal Court & Hitmen fight an amazing match. The Hitmen pulled ahead early, but Jack of Diamonds refused to go down, and fought on! Eventually, he eliminated both Vigilante & Splatter! However, Soldier of Fortune fought back, and ended up eliminating all three of the Court(Defender & Exo-King had been pretty brutally beaten) to survive. Dynamo put up a fight, but was no match for all three Titans, and finally was put to rest. Setting up Soldier of Fortune v.s. The Titans in the finals Cannibal's 27th month as Inter-Planetary came to an AMAZING STOP!. Justice, having had two amazing months after the retirement of Lance-At-Las challenged Cannibal, and went after him with a gameplan, and exploited Cannibal's weaknesses. However, Cannibal wouldn't go down so easy, and the match was a war. However, Cannibal had no answer for the Shock Probation, and LOST THE IP TITLE! Justice wins just his second championship, and his first singles championship! Cannibal's almost three years combined between two reigns as IP champion will be a record hard to match by anyone, but it has to be wondered if Cannibal will stay down from this loss. The King of the Galactic Deathmatch tournament is coming up, and if Cannibal can re-win the event, a title shot cannot be far behind! However, that doesn't change the fact that JUSTICE, of all people, is the new Inter-Planetary champion! The Finals of Trial By Fire pitted Soldier of Fortune in an unwinnable situation, but he fought on as hard as could against the Titans. It wasn't to be, however, and after a surprisingly tough match, Lord Nexus polished Soldier off with the TitanDrop to win the tournament! The main event of the show, was a rematch from May of the year, four months ago. Chaos in that match, fought Bishop Hell for the title, but Hell managed to get himself DQ'd to retain the title. Chaos brutalized Bishop from the opening bell, tossing around Hell like a frisby at multiple points. Hell tried to mount counter-attacks, but the runaway train that has been Chaos in recent months could not be stopped. Finally, after suffering a brutal beating, Bishop Hell's ten month GWF title reign came to a close, as Chaos made him submit to the Bow of Defeat, to earn only his SECOND GWF title reign! Whattaevent. Two title changes...I was so shellshocked when Cannibal lost Also, some major news was announced. Alpha Force has missed several matches over the past few months, and as such has been banished from the GWF for the rest of 2098, or until he properly explains why he's been missing events! Another tidbit, was the reveal by Iron Mane, that he intends to retire very soon. The former Tag champion, who never won singles gold, has announced that he will be participating in the KOTGDM as his final event, and that he wants to face Ram in a brutal contest to end their feud that has been going on all 2098. Finally, it was announced that Thunder, having been MIA for over a year, will be returning to the GWF...as a wrestler! There are grumblings that with Spike's current banishment, Thunder could be joining to add more offensive power to the singles ranks...but only time will tell!

Shocking. Justice is the one to defeat Cannibal... who knew! Sounds like that was supposed to be just another title defense, but it didn't turn out that way.
I suspect we might look forward to Chaos against Cannibal soon!
Great stuff.

I had hoped Nexus, or someone would take the IP title and make the title switch mean something.
Justice...will probably have a short title reign, which kinda blows.

I finished July of 2098. The big news is that the reign of TitanExpress as Tag Team Champions... lasted 20 days. Brute & Massacre are the champs now. For Massacre, all roads lead to August where he will challenge Matador of M83 (or will it be Alpha Force by then!) for the GWF Galaxian Title. Also, Spike has an upcoming Lumberjack match against Wolf!

Hawk, Great idea to start a thread for the middle-roaders.
I last stopped playing in 2100 with thoughts of starting again, although I sort of combined 2096-2098 into one year because I thought some of those years were the weakest years that I own. So I commend you and Butters and anyone else who stuck with it.
I really liked the years 2094-2095, maybe because it was Snelly doing the art. I was kind of disappointed that after the hype about Heracles and Colossus, the artwork for both of their cards kind of sucked. Now that I'm playing into the Brian Bendis era, I can see why so many people hated Bendis' artwork, and I may just dump my fed where it is and skip to 2119.
What do some of you guys think about continuing with the 2090s since 2119 was released?

I don't have the dedication to run two feds at once, so I'd rather stick with my current fed, then uproot and restart in another year. History means something to me.
2096-2098 are some weird years. I can see Colossus being a huge disapointment, what with his -1 in both agility & power, and really having no real standing out point. However, if you grab his 2099 SE card, which I've used from the start, he gets alot stronger. -3 agility, Cyborg Deathblow becomes a +1 instead of just (0), and he's generally just stronger. Better artwork too.
Heracules...Heracules pretty much sucks from what I've seen.
Whats weird about 2096-2098, is everyone brought into the Citadel team are VERY hit or miss. Janus is strong, but at the same time, he's very beatable. Superiority Complex are not an elite tag team, and Chaos can be very hit or miss too, espcially when the Alpha Stone dies. Matador's probably the best overall in the team.
It's always seemed like to me, that Omega's teams always get the best wrestlers, and the heel factions only get one or two. Granted, the few they get are really good, such as Thantos in his prime, Chaos & Matador...but it seems like Omega's groups get twice as many good workers. If Heracules & Colosuss weren't enough, 2101 brings one of the strongest cards ever, in Pegasus...who is aligned with Omega.
