i'd like to see (non-polka dot) Rhodes or Roberts as Legends for 07, just to get some "new blood" in there. Just saw the video of Rhodes and he has no polka dots. Personally can't wait to play this game. Theres the video from Youtube

That Dusty Rhodes character model looks good! And thank gawd no polka dots. However I bet it is a unlockable alternate attire. Looking forward to this game!

I'm seriously stoked by the legends lineup. Finally a Lawler that doesnt require a hack. Only thing I think that could make this game rock harder is if you could download legends from the PS2 online stuff.

Here's some good news for you all; the game is currently sitting in EB Games/GameStop back rooms across the country, meaning there will be no release date delay.
We played a match at the store here using the X Box 360. I used Bobby Lashley against Batista in a regular match. I have to tell you all that the single most addictive thing is tossing (and beating the crap out of) your opponent all over the ring.
My only gripe from what I played is that the fatigue option MUST be turned off to enjoy this game. I think the wrestlers get gassed way too easily (more so than in last year's version). Otherwise, we've got a bonafide winner here!

We stopped by the local Target to get my early Christmas gift: SD vs. Raw 2007 for the PS2!It's got some new move sets & button combinations, so it doesn't look to be a retread of earlier editions. After an hour of playing around with it, I was able to win my first match (Easy Mode): Bobby Lashley def. Trevor Murdoch.

Great Umaga in Smackdown vs. Raw 2007! When he cracks his opponent with the Spike, it's over! No sign of Armando Alejandro Estrada, though. Looks like Estrada is a no-show in the game.

Anyone played this on 360. I'm having a great time with the game but I can't beat a challenge to save my life. Multiplayer is hilarious, its great how they included the title matches where you can fight the computer in a non-season match for them. Khali is a freaking animal in the game, submissions are pretty much the only way you can beat him, no grapple moves work.

I got this for Christmas, so I thought I'd review it. It's not a bad game, but not much of an improvement over 2006. The new control scheme is a little confusing, but if you switch to control type D, you're pretty close to the previous game's scheme.
Season mode is a little different. I played as Angle and had a few choices. I'm not sure how it is for everyone, but he eventually beat Triple H to win the WWE Title, then switched to Smackdown and went to WM to defend against Orton. Season's good for unlocking the Legends and lots of other things. I managed to get everyone but Austin and Perfect the first time around. I also got the Diva loading screen, which was a high priority (since I don't care about staring at a screen with the mug of some wrestler I don't like). Also, Season matches can be played 2 player.
My plan is to run a 2 player GM mode since once you win that trophey, you get unlimited experience points for your CAW's. In my main fed, I'm thinking of having Bret, Angle, Finley, Benoit, Perfect, Shane, Piper, Neidhart, and a couple of tag teams.
I created Dan Severn and Giant Baba. Man I'm terrible with faces! Severn was easier since I just took the basic clothing and added gloves and knee pads. Severn looks all right (except for the Kaiser Wilhelm moustache) but Baba doesn't even look like him). If someone who has this and LOW can help me with those 2 (at least the faces), I'd really appreciate it. I ran Baba in Season a couple of match (since RR is easier with a super heavyweight), then pitted him against Severn (still a 33). Severn annihilated him! Maybe I'll just use Severn instead.
I haven't tried any challenges yet, and I don't think I'm going to right now since you don't unlock anything really good with them.
My final thoughts...if you have 2006, don't bother with this one. The only really bonus, that I see so far, is the inclusion of new legends. If you don't have 2006, then it's probably cheaper to buy it than 2007. However, if you got this as a gift, you have nothing to lose. As I said, it's not bad, but nothing much to make it stand out when compared to the previous game.
Take care,
Jay

all right, really stupid question: How do you kick out of pins?
Why do you pound on the computer and he kicks out constantly and he then hits you with one finisher and you are not even damaged and he pins you?
Are there any sure-fire ways that your grapples will not be reversed? This gets really annoying on higher difficulty where everything gets reversed.
ANy help will be appreciated.

L2 breaks attacks, R2 breaks grapples. If you get pinned, start pressing any of the buttons to kick out.
Unfortunately, yes the game does cheat. I was testing out a CAW of Crusher (89) against a jobber (33), and the jobber kept countering just about all his moves. I agree, it's frustrating, but I've played worse.
If the new controls are a pain (I think they are), switch to control type D. It's very close to previous versions except you have to press R1 and the control stick for anything beyond a basic grappling move.
And as far as I know, there's no way to guarantee no counters by the opponent, even if you hit a finisher. I would, however, reccommend changing the counters in the game mechanics menu. That might help. Also ground moves seem to hit the most.
Take care,
Jay
