Loved NES Pro wrestling..thought Amazon's finger in the nose move was awesome! Not to burst your bubble of nostalgia there, but Amazon's signature moves were the Pirhana Bite and the Outlaw Choke; there was no nasal claw.

My All Time Favorites:
1- Super Tecmo Bowl (Randall Cunningham and Bo Jackson are still probably the most unstoppable forces in Video Game Football history)
2- Mike Tyson's Punchout (My friends and I still laugh about when sometimes you would be in trouble and Doc would tell you to "Join the Nintendo Fan Club" as advice.)
3- Contra (The greatest cheat code in the history of Video Games.)

Man...cannot wait until the Wii comes out so I can down load some of these games.. Seriously. The Wii could ship with absolutely no launch titles at all and still move a significant amount of units just on Virtual Console anticipation.

moving things forward a bit because bladeflyer mentioned it: Castlevania Symphony of the Night was the best 2D side scroller EVER..!! No game before it or since has come close (although the DS Castlvania I hear is really good)...
I even have the soundtrack and still have 3 saved games... ;D

Curious: why 3 over 2? That's my preerence too (just barely), and I'm wondering if it's for the same reasons.

A few reasons, one being that you got all the bosses from 2 anyways. Rush was a very cool addition, and Protoman side battles made an interesting and tough challenge.

Could sworn Amazon did a move where he jab his finger in someone's nose...mighta been the outlaw choke...hadnt played since '90

I don't know if this thread would hold favorite SNES games as well or whatever, but I don't really feel like starting another one, sooo..... I actually own all my favorite SNES games: Actraiser: This little known gem was a great game in virtually every category...The gameplay was awesome, the music, the graphics (for the time of course)...Just all around great game... Kirby Superstar: 8 games in one, and everyone of them is fun as hell...You don't have to be a kid to enjoy "Samurai Kirby"... ;D Final Fantasy 6: Released on the SNES as FF3, bar none the best pre-FF7 Final Fantasy... Chrono Trigger: Replay value through the roof..!! The game itself is amazing, the story, the multiple endings...New Game+ made this game one of the best RPGs ever... Earthbound: This RPG was truly messed up...That's pretty much all I can say about it... Super Bomberman 1 and 2: THE best multiplayer game ever...It's sad that Nintendo hasn't been able to pull it off since...It's such a simple formula, and yet they never really made a version that was as good...Shame... The original Bomberman was on the NES and it was an amazingly addctive game as well... That's all I can remember at the moment....

You forgot Super Metroid- A superb improvement over the already incredible NES version- increase in story, gameplay, and weapons. Plus an in- game save feature! This game has me seriously considering getting a SNES system again. One of my all time favorites.
Plus Super Star Wars, Super Empire Strikes Back, and Super Return of the Jedi were pretty good.

Yup, those are essentially all of my reasons save one: The slide. I can't play MM 1 and 2 anymore without losing at least one life by trying to slide out of a situation where it would be sooooooooooo useful.

Ahh, yes the slide was a godsend to the game. It's why I had trouble adjusting to Mega Man X at first.

MMX never did much for me. I didn't like the fact that it was extremely difficult to take on the bosses out of sequence, as power-ups gained along the way were essential to your survival.

You know, funny thing about Double Dragons, my brother and i were talking about this yesterday I think (we just bought Taito Classics)...They could put out a Double Dragon 2007, and it could be the WORST game ever made...But as long as they put a flawless port from the Arcade as an unlockable in it, I guarantee it would sell like it was Grand Theft Auto 6...
