Turkish, if you get a PS3 (and I realize that's one BIG if) or an XBOX 360, we can hook up online as the Avengers. At this point, I know Cap, Thor, Spidey and Wolverine are all playable (NOTE: As a fan of the 70's, 80's and 90's Avengers, I cringe at the mention of Spidey and Wolverine as Avengers, but what can you do?), and we may see Hawkeye, Vision or Ironman. Keep in mind that next year brings the release of MARVEL UNIVERSE: a massively multi-player online game that will feature 200-plus Marvel heroes and villains - ALL PLAYABLE. Why do you cringe about Spider-Man? He's been an Avenger for a long time. He's just a full timer now. True, Spidey was an Avenger (and if memory serves, so is/was every member of the FF, half the X-Men, Robot Man, Hulk, D-Man and nearly two thirds of the Marvel-U), but as an old school fan of the teams consisting of Cap, Thor, Vision & Scarlet Witch, the Pym's, Iron Man, Wonder Man, Hawkeye and the Panther, and as a fairly educated comics fan, I hate that Spidey and Wolverine got moved into the roster to boost sales, and I hate that a comics institution was ruined for the sake of "shaking things up".

I'm a huge fan of the classic Avengers and I love the new team. I could do without Wolverine but he's barely in the book as it is. I have 500 back issues of the classics to read. They'll be back eventually. Though I hope after Civil War that they get back to chasing all the villains that escaped in the original arc.
And at least this isn't as bad as the early 90s teams were.

Oh...I totally disagree...this is much, much worse than anything from the 90s.

While I agree with RingsYde, I have to say I quite enjoy the current team and story arc. I have np real problem with Spidey, but having Wolverine a member is just wrong. Cap and he would be at odds everytime Logan farts. I like Luke Cage, and Spider woman. Ronin is okay. Sentry is meh.
I would really like them to keep Thor dead. That is hard to write , as he has been my favorite character for twenty years, but if they want a high level character like him they could have Beta Ray Bill join them. That would be neat.
And Hawkeye should be resurrected. Yesterday.

I think the early 90s were the worst as far as the team went. Come on the regulars were Black Widow, Rage, Sersi, Hercules and Black Knight. It was a squad of C listers at the time.

And Ronin, Cage and Spider-Woman are A-list? In what reality, exactly? =P
It's the vanity project of a guy who tells okay stories and writes snappy dialogue who has long since began reading his own press.
The end-all, be-all was before New Avengers even launched, when he started Avengers Disassembled, and the response was negative. His reaction? "You just don't get it!"
They infernal duo of Bendis & Millar have taken a guy who once bought over half of Marvel's monthly releases and driven him almost off of monthly books altogether...and onto quietly following the stories online, so that if they ever stop sucking, I can jump back in.
But that's just my opinion on things...

The house of ideas has turned into the house of lousy story telling.

I'm rather fond of Thunderbolts and Cable/Deadpool, as well as Marvel Team-Up (just a seriously fun tour through the Marvel Universe as Robert Kirkman rolls through various combos of Marvel guys)...but the rest? Nah.

Man, just started looking at the info on this game. It looks totally awesome. Even if the graphics are not the greatest on the PS2 , the experience should be awesome.
