The AI for SvR2006 is the best EVER.
I decided to play WM 22 (modified for length and roster) since I won't be watching it Sunday...
and when I got to Cena vs Triple H, I managed to hit two FUs, one being on the floor...but he kicked out!
Cena won...after five FUs, two in all on the floor!
Best HHH AI ever.

Keep playing, Tommy, and see if your thoughts stay that way. Don't get me wrong, SvR 2006 is an excellent game, and the AI is definitely better than last years, but it could still use some refinement.
For example, the comp loves to Irish whip, even doing so instead of going for a finisher. I had to turn off ring-outs because the comp either kept getting counted out or spent 10-15 minutes fighting outside the ring. In addition, the comp loves strikes, even if it's not supposed so, and since strikes are easiest to counter, a strong wrestler may find himself getting countered a lot by a jobber.
Once again, these are not major things, but they do get frustrating sometimes. I still love the game, and nearly filled 1 memory card with LOW wrestlers (official and unofficial).
So far, my LOW roster includes:
Dan Severn, Frank Gotch, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Killer Kowalski, Rikidozan, Giant Baba, Iron Sheik, Don Leo Jonathan, Freddie Blassie, The Crusher, Ox Baker, Aleksandr Karelin, Bob Backlund, Yukon Eric, Ken Shamrock, and I plan to add Bruno Samartino and Superstar Billy Graham in the near future.
The appearances aren't perfect (Eric looks like he's 18 and Kowalski looks good but more like his original card...I'm terrible with faces), and I had to change a lot of finishers (Widowmaker for Severn as the fireman's carry slam since the arm bar would do nothing unless the body part was already red...stomach claw slam for Ox since I couldn't find anything resembling a heart punch...Brock Lesnar's backbreaker slam for Eric since the Canadian Backbreaker isn't in the game...single leg crab for Gotch since leg moves are nearly as useless as arm finishers).
Overall though, some matches have been great. Kowalski nearly dominated the hardcore division, though occassionally trading the belt with Crusher and Ox). Backlund had some awesome matches with Rikidozan and Giant Baba. And Gotch vs. Lewis (30 minute Iron Man) was classic old school, with Gotch scoring the submission (and only win) with 30 seconds left on the clock!
Take care,
Jay

I was sure you could alter the AI in the options or settings mode. I have never had any problems with the AI whipping me to the rope. In fact they will go for their finisher every chance they have. Maybe each game is different? Maybe it comes down the way it is played? Dunno, I just didn't get alot of Irish whipping more beat the crap out of me and then pull a finisher off when possible.

I was being a tad facetious...=)
I've played the game to death, I am well aware of the limits.
Although, I haven't had nearly the problems with the AI that you seem to have had, bladeflyer.

Actually, I can handle the Irish Whips; it's the constant fighting outside the ring that annoys me. I need to set tag matches to hardcore or they go on for nearly an hour, since both legal men will refuse to stay in the ring.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the game, but I just hope they fix these little things in the next game.
Then again, this might be their plan; create a bunch of cool stuff, but give the game some flaws so it's not perfect. That way people will get the next one, hoping everyting's improve.
Just a thought; maybe a touch of paranoia.
Take care,
Jay

that is totally how they do it. Why they ever took out the multi-player season mode is beyond me.

Something tells me you'll LOVE the TNA game.... How does that comment have anything to do with this discussion? Quit riding my arse!

Something tells me you'll LOVE the TNA game.... I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, which means I'm leaving the floor open to you...how is that related to the discussion at hand, and how - to your knowledge - is the TNA video game improving upon things...you have some big rumors about TNA having a multiplayer season mode?

As the resident videogame insider on the board, I'd love to hear the explanation myself.
And yes, I have some TNA game news that isn't quite confirmed but does lower my expectations for the game dramatically.

Well, when I heard Midway was making it, I basically wrote it off as anything more than a $15 used novelty buy...=P

No news whatsoever, it was a joke. Pitbull seems to really, really, really like TNA, hence the hilarity. Maybe the people who say we're getting too sensitive on here are right. A joke can just be a joke sometimes...not an insult, or a threat.

hey Offspring...head over to the "Board Issues and Suggestions" section...There's a discussion going on there that I think you might find interesting... hint: A current theme is taking shots at people and starting unnecessary confrontation... ;D

Didn't come off as a joke as I did not see anything that would denote that, and for some reason I am being labelled a TNA Mark it seems yet I have clearly stated in other posts that I am a wrestling fan first and foremost and enjoy wrestling.
And it doesn't come off like it was a light hearted joke when you post - "Pitbull seems to really, really, really like TNA, hence the hilarity" Yeah cause this is soo funny how? And why should it matter to you whether I like TNA, WWE or anything?
Meanwhile back on topic.....I really enjoy RAW vs. SMACKDOWN 06 but it would have been nice had they included Jake as unlockable in the game as opposed to having to get your hands on a PSP. I am hoping a buddy of mine, who has a PSP will pick the game up so I can unlock Jake that way.
Before WM 22 I also ran a few of the cards that were on that show, and they seemed to almost dictate who would win some of the matches. Although in my main event match HHH definately ruled the ring. He walloped Cena with a sledgehammer then hit the Pedigree that busted Cena open and took to win.
Great game and I can only imagine what 2007 is going to be like. I saw some sneak peak pics at ign.com and man they have stepped it up graphically right down to the sweat and everything. I will be really interested in what modes, matches and legends will make the cut.
