Thanks Rings. I can't wait until the semester is over so I can get back to playing SVR2K6! Nice to see you back on here.

Hmmm...I haven't played 06....but I"m a big fan of the Day of Reckoning engine. I've heard lots of good things on 06 though, so I guess it is a good thing

I should caution that my title line is wrong. WWE Smackdown versus Raw 2007 is not going to be available for either the X-Box, Gamecube or Revolution.
That said, I'm extremely happy to see and hear the news. I've become such a fan of the X-Box 360 (and so doubtful about the success or value of the PS3) that this helps me plan on where I spend the videogame money in the immediate future.
What's really cool is that this isn't the biggest story about the game. The popular rumor around THQ is that 360 and PS3 owners will be able to shop an online Virtual store that will feature nearly 100 wrestling legends (if they have a WWE licensing deal, they may well be available for use in the game) and new arena, weapons and costume updates.
I'm off to trade in my PS2 and SDvR'06 before the value drops. I figure I'll play NO MERCY until the fall, and cash in on the PS3 (if I decide to buy it) or 360 version of 2007 when it hits the shelf.

Gamespot.com has a great streaming video of the X-Box 360 version of the new Smackdown game. You can see Cena and Angle take the fight into the crowd, Cena being electrocuted on a nearby speaker, and Angle pulling off one helluva highspot. www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/smackdownvsraw2007/index.htmlI'll make no bones about the fact that I'm really excited about this game, and I suspect the video will get a few more of you excited as well.

...
Crowd fighting?
Isn't that the thing that was rumored for years and never actually surfaced?
*drools*

You guys ever play VPW2 on import? I like it a bit better than No Mercy (same engine, slight tweaks) due to the moveset and the cool Japanese guys. No Mercy is still the bomb, of course. My friends and I play VPW all the time.

Bought it, played, sold it, got ALMOST all my money back out of it, and this was in 2005.

It's awesome, isn't it? The 'delayed sells' make me mark out... even though the guy doesn't go down after he springs up.

Crowd fighting does sound cool. Too bad I won't have a system that will play it.
