I saw the stuff about the WWE RPG. Well I tried out Kayfabe another wrestling RPG (generic) and I must say it was a lot of fun. It can work with one person(though that's a bit of work) easily with two people, and we had 7 people plus the GM and we didn't have a problem. It's a lot of fun, reasonably priced and would work well with GWF and LOW or a WWE or TNA or ROH fed.

Kayfabe is a blast! It's one of my favorite RPGs, actually. I cannot recommend it enough.
If you don't mind an RPG that doesn't pretend that wrestling's a true competition, you truly should own this game.

Kayfabe remains to this day my favorite of the admittedly limited online games I have played. Never had much success getting a face-to-face game going around here, but I wouldn't mind playing in one if by some wild chance I ever could. Matt knows his stuff, that's for sure.

So after reading the rules of the game...basically we would run a federation, and decide who wins and loses matches. The playing of the game comes in from the finances of running the promotion and having wrestlers refuse to lose and such?

Yes, the endings are predetermined but how you get there is the fun part. It's also fun to see how much heat you can get; the wilder and better the stuff you do, the more heat you generate. Cynthia may remember the one women's match that my character, Vixen, was in (a four-way dance, I believe). We put up some serious numbers it was a lot of fun. Allen

ok, so i got a copy of the rulebook (the free preview pdf file), and i cannot believe this game hasn't gotten more recognition than it has! i was more surprised to see Cynthia's name attached to it as well! there's not a lot about this game that doesn't look good. i might have to see about getting a game or two of this going. BTW, has WWEKYR been released YET?! if not, will it ever? i gotta say, no matter what, comic images dropped the serious ball on this one. if they weren't ready for a full-on rpg project, maybe they shouldn't have agreed to making it, eh? i was really surprised to see that WOTC didn't pick up WWE and comic images did. makes me really nervous to see what they do to the Godzilla ccg...

BTW, has WWEKYR been released YET?! if not, will it ever? It's been out for about two weeks now... some stores couldn't keep it on the shelves, I heard. Don't think it's available in B&N or Borders because of their decidedly unfavorable return policy, and some game stores don't carry it because--get this--they still have copies of the OLD WWF game and they wanna try to "sell those first"! (Which is like not selling D&D 3E cuz you still have AD&D2 stock left over.) Internet order is probably your best bet if your local game stores don't carry it. I highly recommend Noble Knight Games (nobleknight.com), and others like Paizo.com, or RPGShop. WOTC won't and can't get WWE license because Comic Images already has the rights to produce gaming stuff. And yes, Kayfabe is a wonderful game! Tony

The guys over on the DVDVR board I post on all really liked Know Your Role. Kayfabe is really a different kind of bird though, but I bought that one online a while ago and it was pretty cool. Misuses a few wrestling terms, and the artwork is pretty obviously thinly-disguised amateur wrestling artwork, but it's pretty good.
