I was given this yesterday by a friend yesterday as a going away gift and it doesn't come out for a few days. So, here is my prereview review...
I have it on Gamecube...
The graphics have improved and several new perks have been added when giving ingame stat updates...plus the drive summary features a key player to the drive, the % of the run/pass plays and penalties, the pass stick is kinda weird but the truck stick (something you use when running the ball) is awesome! Your player throws himself into the block and knocks the other guy flat on his a$$ but you have a better chance of fumbling... The create a player is awesome...I made a QB from OK and he was drafted in the second round by the Lions (yuck!) and this option is kinda cool! On the plus side, I can import my NFL Street 2 created characters!
Anyway, I think that EA Sports did a fantastic job with this edition! Stay tuned as I progress and give further info.

Thanks for the info because I've heard so many bad things about Madden '06 that I was just about ready to cancel the pre-order. Nothing particularly horrid, but a lot of reviews and early obtainers of the game said it was a step back from last year's game (which I thought was pretty boring). I'll know for sure by this time Sunday night (that's when I get my copy).

I didn't try Madden '05. Instead I played the ESPN game. I liked the gameplay and everything. I only problem was the off season. It took a lot of time and energy to draft well, where in Madden it's a lot easier to sort and find solid draft picks. I guess that's good in a way, making it more challenging, but it sure is time consuming.

Yes, I like NFL Street...kinda has a Blitzy feel to it but not as campy...Finished my first season with my created player on the Lions and he led the lions to the playoffs (10-6 on Madden Level) but was rather crushed by the Falcons...cough! (Read Quickly) 42-9!! Awesome game...gots to go because I have the draft to do now...later.

For those that haven't heard Brock Lesner is in this game as a free agent defensive tackle this is true. it is also true that he sucks and his OAR is a 69 I think. But any die-hard madden fan knows if you plug him in there, eventually his stats are goin' go way up.

Lesnar in Madden...wow! I guess in the mini-camp, he can use his F5 in the block & tackle drills...ha!ha!ha!

There's a Madden 2006 thread, a Madden 2006 XBox thread and a Madden 2006 PS2 thread. I wonder if all of these threads could be condensed into one Madden thread?
