Checkout Gamespot for some very cool info on Animal Crossing DS. You can choose a place for your home, instead of choosing one of four in the town square. The release date is in November, thats when I guess most of the big games with WiFi are hitting shelves.

The new issue of Nintendo Power states that Animal Crossing will be released in JULY! If this is true were not that far away from that month.

I saw that, but the Nintendo web site still says Q4.
I know what I hope, and I know what the reality may be.

Nintendo is internally hyping the release of this game AND the new Zelda on the same day as the X-Box 360 release. Right now, that date is tentatively Tuesday, November 15th.
For what it's worth, Sony is exploring the possibilities of the strategic release of Final Fantasy XII (PS2) and the next installment of GTA on . . . November 15th.
This is going to be a pretty huge day, and the Nintendo fans are going to think they're on crack. I'm not a big Zelda fan, but big daddy has found himself hooked on Animal Crossing at times. Hey, you move in at two in the morning (on the game) and wake all the virtual neighbors up, and the game suddenly becomes engrossing.

What's the scoop on this Animal crossings game? Why is it so great? All I know about it is that is runs in "real time"?
All I play is EA sports titles and ever had. But Halo was cool and I'm thinking of branching out maybe.

Swarm, AC is a game of life, you pick male or female and you move into a town that you name and you live with animals. You can fish, digup fossil's... collect furniture for your house, and celebrate holidays and the list goes on. It's a 24/7 game, and things happen at different times, and that makes for a great game. I still play my GameCube version, and with the DS version coming... I'll be really excited to start fresh and see what will be all new.

My man, Power Station forgot one word; ADDICTION.
I'm a big time sports / wrestling / fighting gamer (and I do some shooters and fps's here and there) who lives by the motto "if I can't tackle, slam shoot or blow it up, I'm not interested!"
It took me one attempt at Animal Crossing on the GC to get hooked. My employees at EB Games wanted to see me try ANYTHING that wasn't WWE, NFL or Soul Calibur, so I humored them and tried it at an employee gathering at my house late one night. I was blown off my feet to see my character(s) move into a neighborhood at roughly 2am (real time) and subsequently piss off the neighbors. From that moment, everything the character did effected soemthing else in the game, much like life.
I'm still pretty content with my sports gaming, but this is one of those titles that slipped through the cracks because it's plain old addictive. If you have a DS, I think this game, Nintendogs and the upcoming Advance Wars are all worth a try.

Yes, Addiction was missing from my last post. Another game that looks good other then Advance Wars... Rebelstar:Tactical Command. But, Animal Crossing DS will be the game of games... it is strange that the official magazine has in print, release date in July... but November is still the listed date on EBGames and Nintendo. Thats the thing with the BIG "N", they don't even really know what is the real date of release.

All I know about it is that is runs in "real time"? Sort of. The hours do progress in real time while you play and it will keep track of the days (and holidays) according to your GCN settings, but the better selling point is that it creates the illusion of continuing to run while you're not playing it. If you don't play for a month or two, weeds will have cropped up over town (not to mention roaches in your house) and your townies will say that they haven't seen you around and missed you. And yeah: "Addiction" is a pretty good word for the game's appeal.

Thats the thing with the BIG "N", they don't even really know what is the real date of release. Well, not really. The print magazines are written months prior to going to press. Having out-of-date information has become common, especially compared to today's up-to-the-second internet.
