Hi,
I was just wondering if anybody on this board collects M.U.S.C.L.E. Men? If you don't know what they are, they were the pinkish little beasty brawler/wrestlers about a 1 3/4'' tall from the 80's. M.U.S.C.L.E. stands for Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Learking Everywhere!!!
Anyways, I always liked them and thought that the GWF stuff always reminded me of them!
Anybody else?

I used to, when they were first brought to the US way back when. Not lately, though. I haven't even seen the anime (it conflicts with the other anime I watch), although I did enjoy the GCN game that came out a year or so back.

well , not collect anymore, but I have some of the original US release guys at my dad's house.
At my house, I have a MUSCLE figure I call Lemmy (because he looks sorta like Mr. Kilminster) on my sink!

I used to have a pack of them when they first came out. I agree the new ones just aren't the same. For some reason, I just enjoyed picking up a cup for $3 with 10 or 20 little guys, creating personas for them, and making them beat the tar out of each other.
The only character I remember is an ape-man who won my M.U.S.C. L.E. Title.

I've still got mine, some of them have paint on them, some are dirty but I tell you what, they're durable little suckers. I went on ebay a few years back and bought a little baggie of them and every so often I check again out of curiosity. It's hard to get them cheap on ebay, either a lot of bidding going on or the lots aren't very good.
I've played one of the new games, was ok but I like my THQ games. Haven't seen the cartoons or the new product either, I'm old school I guess.

Now thats a blast from the past. I had a ton of those little guys...the pink ones that came in the cup, the ring...but the majority of my collection came after a trip I took the the US when I was a kid, and I used my trip money to buy four packs of coloured MUSCLE's...red, purple, green, and orange...
I think I've still got them, but they may have been lost over the years during my many moves...
I always liked the guys made out of bricks...they were the best cause they fit perfectly into the 'claws' on the ring, so they were really hard to dislodge. They also had these bullet holes in their heads, which I always thought was weird...kind of made them like a tribe or something...

Of course we had no way of knowing back then, but it turns out that all of those "brick" figures were the same guy. He changes shape. The "bullet hole" is a tattoo-like sun emblem (in the latest anime and video games the character is named "Sunshine"). In fact, most of the M.U.S.C.L.E.s who looked similar were most likely different versions of the same guy (like the guy with the horns: one figure had both, another had one broken, there was probably one wit ha cape, etc). While the ring was cool (for the caracters who did fit it), by far the best accessory ever was the title belt.

I still have mine, I have the whole collection of the U.S. releashed figs (233). I have at least the half of the Japanese figs that were not released to the states. I have all the Japanese anime on DVD (which is neat, 'cuz they don't speak English, just Japanese!! LOL). I also have all the Ultimate Muscle figs, the rings, the games, you name it, I almost got it all! And Chris is right, most of the characters that look similar are the same! But I still treat them like different characters! The Brick guy is Named Sunshine and he's from Peru! and the Sun tattoo on his head would light up when he changed shapes!!! One of my favorites as well! I still find most of mine off a Muscle Site called AKIA. "American Kinnikuman Information Archieve!" if you're still interested in getting some of your favorites, you can do a search for AKIA and someone there on that message board might sell them cheaper than Ebay or even trade! Just an idea for you guys!?! Ray

OMG, I can't believe I never saw this post until now...I used to have nearly every MUSCLE dude when they first came out! I also had the ring and the championship belt! FYI, if you have the ring, and take one of those green plastic strawberry trays, you know the ones you get when you buy strawberries, it fits right over the ring...instant steel cage!
Do they even have MUSCLE around anymore? I also remember they had little rock singer ones for girls, CUTIE or something. We used to take MUSCLE and have them invade CUTIE and make slaves out of them! Man, where's my Atari-2600?

The MUSCLEs that they have out now have too much character, not much for the personalilty. Plus they are relasing less individuals and more remakes of certian characters. I bought 4 different sets and ended up getting 6 of the exact same guy in different colors! I miss the good old days when you could buy a about 20 of them for $5 and really get an assortment!

I still have a HUGE bag full of them. I went totally nuts over these things and the only thing I never had was the ring.
