Just curious if anyone in the CotG world will be jumping into the game.
I know there were a couple of us playing City of Heroes at one time and that never seemed to work out as we were all on different servers.
I was a part of the closed beta for the game and WoW is definetly going to hit a mainstream market. It's a step up in complexity from CoH, but not nearly as slow/complex as DAoC and EQ. I really think they've hit a nice middle group to attract a whole new market. Besides the Art Direction in the game is phenomenal.
Anyway since the game comes out on the 22nd we have time to get organized and try and get on the same server this time. I've got a group of guys that I work with that we always game together with, but it'd be cool if I could meet up with some CotG family as well. I mean let's face it. An MMO is just a glorified chat room right?

well....I have debated about trying this out. I have gotten my hands on EQ2....just not sure I like that game though.
How does this game really play? Does it get too monotonous? The same thing....over and over and over again?
I have been playing Neverwinter Nights....really enjoying that (i know, a few years old). This is actually my first pc rpg that I have been able to "get into".

EQ2, I'm in the same boat as you.
NW Nights is a good game, but just a little to slow for me.
WoW has a great quest system that makes it so if you want to solo you can. You want to group up then there are the elite quests that if your not in a group your dead. The artistic direction is incredible and the game just oozes with flavor. You level A LOT faster as Blizzard's design idea is they want a lot of high level content. They don't want to make it a chore.
The way I see it, it's a cross between City of Heroes and Everquest. It's fast and action paced like CoH, but has trade skills and equipment of EQ. It's combat driven as there's not houses to own and the such and may turn off the hardcore, but for casual gaming you can't get any better.

haha...that is the EXACT thing i was trying to explain it as....EQ2 just never had "it"....and CoH had "it" for a llittle while, but lost "it".....
I bought WoW....and....WOW....what a great game....I took EQ off my pc.....no more of that.....I have two characters actually....one on the Lothar server (East Coast)...lvl 8 Tauran Shaman. The other is a lvl 7 Night Elf Hunter (on the Uther server on the West Coast).....
I still wanna make a few more different characters (itching to do a Dwarf with Engineering)......
let me know if you are interested in trying to hook up....i will let you know my character names
Night Elf Hunter: Tinta Tauran Shaman: Shakago

if anyone has this, what server are you on? I have two characters now (gonna make more soon).
I have one on Uther (Night Elf Hunter, Level 13) and another on I think Bronzebeard (Level 6 Dwarf Warrior).
Give me a hollar if you are in game....maybe we can hook up and form up a guild or something....

I've actually started a guild with workmates on a mountain server called Kel'Thuzad if you want to create a character there.
That's open to all CotG players if you want to play some WoW.
My characters Vashna: Mage Xash: Shaman
