I just picked it up, and I have some mixed feelings. Gameplay is pretty much the same with the exception of the clean/dirty meter, which I like. Although I don't understand how climbing the turnbuckle makes you lose the meter if you're dirty. Bad guys fly too! The AI works pretty well except in the Rumble, where guys would toss their opponents to the apron and forget about them. Reminded me of No Mercy a few times. Also, guys with 6 or 7 for technique seem really good at reversing Everything!
As for the CAW, creating body shapes is definitely easier this time, but clothing designs are fewer. What's with the roses??? Is someone really going to make a 400 lb. no-neck bralwer with a floral arrangement on his tights??? At least they have some new moves (I love the Black Widow).
Season mode is a definite disappointment. Let's see, people liked last years; it just needed a few more stories. So this year, let's have a nearly completely linear storyline, non random wrestlers, and title storylines where the player is good even when they try to be evil.
Overall it's fun, but I really think they cut a lot to make room for the voices and online play, and both seem useless anyways. Also they seemed to change things for no reason. No tag teams? Create a Title only works between 2 players, not between comp. opponents?
Once again, it's not a bad game, but I'm hoping next year, they'll listen to the fans and fix what really needs to be fixed.

I agree with you, Nemecys. I think a lot was either cut or given little attention at the expense of other features. Also, is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that trying to break a submission hold by rapidly pressing buttons seems to make you tap out faster (especially in Elimination Chamber matches)?
Sadly, as a result of recent legal action by the WWE, unless an agreement is made by the three companies, OR Yukes is allowed to continue development of WWE titles with another distributor, the Smackdown series as we know it is done. From what I hear, things do not look good. WWE games slated for the Nintendo DS and the X-Box have already been put on hold, and no new WWE titles are being discussed over at THQ.
I like Smackdown -vs- RAW quite a bit, but there's just enough not right to make me feel disappointed if this is their last WWE licensed title.
