Anybody playing Marvel VS these days? I'm a fan of this game like I am almost all adventure games, though naturally I enjoy CotG and LoW the most. If anyone would like to consider trading cards, let me know. You can email me through the official game site or at "tom@filsingergames.com".

Tried it, but it didn't really suit me. I'm a long-time Magic player, so I have a lot of inherent baggage that makes the transition harder than it needs to be. Between the chaotic (to me) nature of the turn structure and the unnerving feeling that I need a translating cheat sheet (VS's "activate" =: MtG's "tap", for example), it just didn't stick.

Almost got into it. I collected for about two weeks until I realized, hey, I have to pay the bills. I played Overpower, I collected the whole non-promo set, obsessed about checklists, and built a homepage that everyone in the community knew of. Marvel Vs. is a great game, awesome play mechanics but it came at a bad time for me I guess. I didn't want it to be another Overpower for me, not enough time and money (though those two weeks were pretty nostalgic).

I'm in a similar boat...one of my buddies wants me to get back into HeroClix, but Real Life diverted my money for so long that I've missed out on a fair bit.
So my spare money tends to go to comic books, CotG and related products, and RPGs that I REALLY wanna run, but never do. *sigh*

Tom, you have time for other games? LOL anyway, I play VS and enjoy it however I only have the two starter boxes (the X-Men/Brotherhood one and the Spider-Man/Synister Syndicate one) and enough booster packs to build up my Origins Sentinel Deck. I haven't played HeroClix for a while but still have all my figs. Most of my extra cash is going towards the Star Wars Minis, DVDs I want, and the new Pirates of the Spanish Main game (possibly the best game EVER MADE! Except for CotG of course.). And I already own most of the RPG stuff I need for the games I want.

Games are my favorite personal hobby. I watch maybe three hours of television a week, freeing up a lot of time for my game-playing. I've stopped playing Magic and am currently playing Marvel Vs. I also play family games, like Boggle and Apples to Apples with my children. I nearly opened a retail game store this year (it would have been called Filsinger Games, a place for games, fun, and frolic) but decided against it. Maybe later. Anyway, I plan to jump back into my LoW fed with HARDCORE due in about a month. I'm really not happy unless I'm playing multiple games constantly. It's a good life.

A game store is a great idea if you can handle it. I had a friend who I played Overpower and X-Men TCG with who worked at a game store. He ended up buying it from his boss. Problem was, he was stiffed for a few things and he did it right when he was getting married. Not a good idea. He ended up losing it I think, I' m not exactly sure what happened, I never heard from him again. Anyway, I definately think you should keep that idea in you're future to-do list but only if you know you can handle it.
Kind of off subject: Is there or have you ever thought about doing an RPG version of CotG?

Kind of off subject: Is there or have you ever thought about doing an RPG version of CotG? I'd buy that character creation rules, an outline of CoTG history, a nifty, fast-paced combat system and rules for converting your CotG roleplaying character into a card for the card game...that would be cool.
