I'm into my fourth month, myself and my sister started in January and the game still rocks. I had the game a month after it was released and well like with CotG I restarted too many times.
Well this has been the best time in the game, and it will continue.
I just got the Office Wallpaper and so my downstairs floor is a kick a** office. My upstairs is the Cabin Theme minus the bookcase.
If they ever make a new AC, I'll still play the old one unless you can transfer your guy and belongings to the new game and town.
I would love to pick a location in your town to live, Beach front would kick a**. The cost should be higher for location, plus they should have a few different ways to travel to another town, like Walking-Bus-Airplane and so forth.
Animal Crossing none the less is a relaxing game for all.

I've got the whole wrestling ring in my house. Kinda cheated for it though(there's universal tom nook codes at gamefaqs.com), but I got the rest of the set, including the floor and incredibly cool ringside seating wallpaper the hard way.
I was really addicted to Animal Crossing, but I just got Harvest Moon for GBA and it absolutely rules. They have one for GC also but I haven't played it(the GC belongs to my girlfriend).
It has a lot of the stuff animal crossing has plus farming. In fact, nintendo ripped the original Harvest Moon off big time for the original Animal Forest for japanese N64.
HM isn't real time though which has its benefits, especially in a GBA game. Gameboys don't have internal clocks anyways. You farm, raise animals, train your doggy(which grows from a puppy) and eventually get married(they have 2 versions of the game-one for boys and one for girls-the girl one isn't out yet in the US)
You can also watch TV, which rules. Every day they have different shows on with different text. You can follow 30 part soap operas or anime/sentai shows.
I just started, but I have to start over. I totally screwed up farming and can't water my crops because I didn't leave any walking space. D'oh!
It'll keep me plenty busy on my way to my cousin's wedding, thats for sure.

I played this game for something like 15 months solid, every day (minus three for power outages). I gradually weaned myself off it, but that was some solid cost:play efficiency right there.
If the next version isn't online compatible there could be riots.

Wow, I haven't thought about Animal Crossing for a long time.
I know Chris was really into it and the trading aspect was really fun for awhile there as we would trade items back and forth. Fun times, but like all games after about 3-4 months they just kind of fade/fall off the rotation.
That's the amazing thing about CotG, it's the only game I've played for so long. Having a new set every 6 months does help keep it fresh though.

I refused to go out on Halloween last fall so I could get all the special stuff.
