[DMK II]

I guess my old DAW thread got archived, so I'm starting up a new one. The DAW (Dead or Alive Wrestling) is a Japanese fed that I've ran on and off since around 1999. Anyway, here is the lineup to one of my upcoming cards,



On February 1st, The DAW makes it’s first appearance in the states from the Los Angeles Coliseum in California with the hopes that the company can gain ground in the North American Market. Jumbo Kobayashi also hopes to expand into select galactic markets by the end of the year providing the company can gain some kind of foothold in the states. This show will mark the conclusion of the DAW’s annual Winning Road Tour, and looks to do so in impressive fashion.

Johnny Rage and Hercules Matsura have taken their long time feud into the tag ranks. More then pride and honor is on the line this time around as Rage and Okomoto recently upset Matsura and Jones for the titles at the Tokyo Showdown PPV. The former champs are hellbent on reclaiming their belts, something that the current champs have claimed won’t be happening at the show. Will Johnny Rage and Tshuidon Okomoto be able to hold onto the titles, or will the former champs take back the titles that they have held so many times before?

Karisuma Namida has been dominant since winning the Jr. Heavyweight belt back at the end of 2111, and looks to be nearly unbeatable. Some insiders are speculating that if Namida can continue to defend his title with success, that a future DAW Dual Crown title show is in his future. He’s already ranked as the No.1 contender to the title and Tsukasa Harakawa looks to not only dethrone him of that spot, but take away his gold as well. Despite being teammates, Harakawa has said that he will hold nothing back against his friend. Karisuma has vowed to retain the title, and promises that win or lose, he’ll gladly shake Harakawa’s hand after the match.

Since leaving the company in 2121, Awesome has been wrestling in the states in various small independent companies, mostly doing freelance work. When the Los Angeles show was announced, Kobayashi immediately got on the phone and booked Awesome for the event. Fennikusu, 5 defenses deep in his DAW Dual Crown reign looks to extend his streak, this time against the big man known as Steve Awesome. Fennikusu has survived challenges from DAW’s top talent which includes Yojiri Onita, Tenzan Sasaki, and former champion, “Deathdealer” Shiomi Yamakawa- how will he fare this time around?!

Jin Kazaya has reformed Kobe and looks to pick up where he left off in 2115, with the complete takeover of the DAW! But first he’ll have to get though Sasaki’s Vanguard group which was formed with one purpose in mind - to stop Kazaya’s ascension to the top! The battle lines have been drawn, and at Hollywood Nightmare, the first ever Barbed-Wire Bombs Team Elimination Match will take place. Last man standing wins the contest for his team. Who will survive?!?!

Great looking show, DAW looks as good as ever. Interesting to see the team Kazaya has put together to reform Kobe, be interesting to see how it does. Also interesting to see you bring Kobe back as I brought Kobe back but in MMA circles with Jazaki leading the way. Looking forward to the card.

Glad to see this fed starting up again. Of course there's the Strevel brand of Japanese wrestlers, but it's also refreshing to see some old cards pop up like Ito "Bad Moon" Otagami, Stone Hart, and Steve Awesome as well.

Aaron, you released a few Japanese wrestlers with the set you put out before this last one. I remember one of the wrestlers was nicknamed "Surefire". I wanted to use him but unfortunutaely couldn't find his card anywhere. Any help?

As far as Strevel brand Japanese wrestlers are concerned, they are just about the only ones available since very few, if any bootleggers make puro wrestlers. It's so scarce as far as those particular style wrestlers are concerned that I've had to resort to making the majority of the ones seen in the DAW.

Names that sound cool are more important to me then accuracy. Although I have created guys that do indeed have real Japanese names.

Take Tsukasa Harakawa for instance. That name is real. As well as Hisakatsu Hosaka.

Although as far as Hakabutsu and Umemura are concerned, yeah, you're right, they aren't even close.

BLOOD ENEMIES REUNITE : X-Nails and Stone Hart vs. Abdullah and Tiger Jet Singh

Abdullah and Tiger Jet hit the ring, each brandishing Arabian swords, much to the shock of the crowd. The carnage ensues, with both Nails and Stone Hart left bloody messes. Stone Hart briefly retreats to the back, only to return with a ladder in tow, which he uses to single handedly clear the Singh’s from the ring. With the ladder set up in the ring and the Singh’s climbing to their feet, Stone Hart ascends the ladder and hit’s a big moonsault to the outside to a wild pop! The aging Stone Hart takes the brunt of the impact from the moonsault and actually appears more injured then the Singh’s, who are immediately up and pounding on him with boots and fists. X-Nails races out to help, and tosses a fireball at Tiger Jet, catching him right in the exposed faced!!! X-Nails locks up Abdullah, and hit’s the NAILDRIVER right onto the concrete. Nails goes for the cover, and a bloody Stone Hart urges the ref to make the count even though the match isn’t falls count anywhere.

Winners : X-Nails and Stone Hart

After the match, a bloody X-Nails gets on the mic and addresses the crowd.

X-Nails : To come out of retirement and wrestle for your fans has been a great honor. Although my body is beaten and I’ll probably spend several weeks recovering from this match, (using a towel to wipe the blood from his face) you people make it all worth it! To me, hardcore is not some gimmick….it’s life! Thank you for letting an old man live one more time!

With that, Abdullah Singh charges back into the ring, clobbering the ring announcer and Stone Hart on his way! He quickly pulls his Arabian Spike from his trunks and levels Nails in the back of the head! Nails drops like a shot as the fans boo and begin to toss trash!! Abdullah prepares to put a further beating on X-Nails when “I Wanna be Somebody” comes over the PA and Tenzan Sasaki races out from the back! Abdullah thinks better of engaging Sasaki, and heads for dodge as the madman hit’s the ring.

Sasaki : Singh’s - ITSU DAMO!!!!!!!!

Abdullah pulls an injured Tiger Jet to his feet as he retreats up the ramp, and gives Sasaki the throat slit your dead sign before disappearing behind the curtain.



8-MAN SCRAMBLE ~ IGLL INVADES DAW!!
Black Toro, Super Demon, Vampiro 3000, and Emperor vs. Bad Blood, Ito “Bad Moon” Otagami, “Black Wizard” Kuroi Jujutsushi, and Super Vertigo

Too much action to describe accurately. A lot of high spots and double teams. The Mexico team dominates the middle part of the match, but no matter who is in the ring, they can’t quite pin their Japanese counterpart for the win. This would prove costly, at least initially as Otagami gets on a hot streak, and no matter who is thrown at him, seems to dominate them with ease. Both Super Demon and Emperor fall victim to the OTAGAMI DRIVER but are able to escape. Finally Super Demon is able to slow Otagami down with a steel chair shot when the ref’s back is turned. Bad Blood comes in and nearly kicks Demon’s head off, only for Vampiro 3000 to hit a big cross body from the top, nearly pinning Blood! With the Mexico team on the outside regrouping, Super Vertigo takes to the air, hitting a tope con hilo that sends bodies spilling everywhere! Black Toro rolls back in after the big spot, worse for the wear, and falls victim to Bad Blood, who kicks his head off and then pins him with the TRANFUSION.

Winners : Team Japan



GLIMMERING WARLOCK vs. SHINNING WIZARD : GENTARO vs. Hisakatsu Hosaka

Shorter match then fans would of liked, but none the less an enjoyable one. GENTARO nearly kicks his way to victory, even hitting his GLIMMERING WIZARD at one point. But Hosaka proves much more skilled then his opponent and is able to dominate large portions, effectively wearing GENTARO down. Hosaka hit’s the CAPTURE SUPLEX, and could easily of got the pin following, but instead pulls GENTARO to his feet so he can finish the match with a Shinning Wizard.

Winner : Hisakatsu Hosaka



2/3 FALLS MADNESS! YOUTH vs. EXPERIENCE : Tiger Mask X vs. Rushin “Devil” Liger

Fast paced action all the way with this one. The first fall moves by with such speed, that if you blinked you would probably miss something. After a series of exchanges, Tiger Mask X is able to pin Liger with TIGER SUPLEX HOLD and win the first fall!

Winner of the first fall : Tiger Mask X

Liger is obviously distraught after the sudden end to the first fall, and moves right in at Tiger Mask X trying to even the score! More chain wrestling, and then Tiger Mask misses a Sky Twister Press, allowing Liger to follow up with a Fisherman’s Buster for the pin and the second fall.

Winner of the second fall : Rushin “Devil” Liger

With the match tied at one fall apiece, the final fall is decidedly much slower, with both men feeling each other out. Tiger Mask X strikes first, hitting an array of suplexes, but to no avail. Liger strikes back, but like his opponent, can’t quite get the fall he needs to win the match. The match sees it’s conclusion after some minutes of back and forth action when Tiger Mask X tries for an Avalanche Tiger Suplex, and Liger counter’s, hitting a huracanrana! Liger follows up with a quick 2nd turnbuckle moonsault and gets the pin and the match!

Winner of the third fall and the match : Rushin “Devil” Liger



THUMBTACKS OF DEATH : Team No Respect vs. Jason 21 and Super Leatherface

The tray of thumbtacks take a backseat to Super Leatherface’s chainsaw in this one, as the horror movie monster unleashes it on Gedo and Iado with no mercy! After a brutal beating by Super Leather, Iado is literally a bloody lump on the canvas, and is further beaten when Jason 21 suplexes him into the tray of tacks! Gedo tries to even the odds when he produces a barbed-wire bat from under the ring. But despite the barbed-wire monstrosity’s ability to injure, Gedo proves little match for the combined forces of Jason 21 and Super Leather, and is eventually pined following a double power bomb into the tacks.

Winners : Jason 21 and Super Leatherface



DAW ALL JAPAN BRASS KNUCKLES STREET FIGHT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP : Hercules Matsura and Body Bag Jones vs. Agents of Execution, Johnny Rage and Tshudin Okomoto (ch)

This match quickly turned into a hardcore street fight as all sorts of plunder became involved. The highlight of this garbage fest was when Okomoto and Rage both used flaming chairs to hit a brutal looking con-chair-to on Body Bag Jones! Matsura dropped Rage through the time keepers table with a backdrop from the ring apron, and then used the time keeper’s bell to bust him up further which drove the fans into a frenzy! Body Bag Jones, having never fully recovered from the flaming chair con-chair-to, finds himself in a bad way late in the match as Rage and Okomoto work him over badly in the corner. Matsura comes in to help, but gets stopped by Rage. The two brawl out of the ring as Okomoto hits the DANGER DROP on Jones and gets the pin. Matsura and Rage continue to brawl after the bell until security is sent out to separate them.

Winners : Johnny Rage and Tshudin Okomoto (3rd Defense)

The camera cuts to the back where Hercules Matsura is storming through the locker room area. He’s in a rage, and amiss his fury nearly attacks the camera man!

Hercules Matsura : (In Japanese) RAGE! FOR YEARS WE’’VE WAGED A BLOODY WAR AGAINST ONE ANOTHER, AND YET, WE STILL HAVE NOT DECIDED A WINNER!!!!! AT BLOOD GODS….FORGET THE TAG TEAM TITLES - THEY MEAN NOTHING TO ME…not compared to watching you destroyed and driven before me! I DESPISE YOUR GAJIN BLOOD!



DAW ALL JAPAN JR. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP : “Hellchild” Tsukasa Harakawa vs. Karisuma Namida (ch)

The two Elitist Faction teammates shake hands before the bout and then engage in a chain wrestling fest, going move for move, counter for counter. The match would see many pauses in the action so the fans could cheer in ovation for both wrestler’s athleticism. Harakawa nearly has Namida after hitting the high impact Avalanche Galeon Bomb, but Namida powers out and from there finds a second win, surprising Harakawa with Neji to Hashi for a close call. Harakawa seems shaken at this point and Namida quickly moves in for the kill, hitting the KRIIDA DRIVER, but to no avail. Harakawa makes a last ditch effort to regain control of the match, but his suicide dive misses, and Namida quickly hits TEARS OF CHARISMA to retain his title. After the match, as promised, Karisuma Namida shakes Tsukasa Harakawa’s hand.

Winner : Karisuma Namida (7th Defense)




DAW ALL JAPAN CROWN/BRASS KNUCKLES STREET FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP : “Hardcore” Steve Awesome vs. Fennikusu (ch)

Awesome rushes in at Fennikusu like a runaway freight train right from the sound of the bell. Awesome is able to pound Fennikusu from pillar to post until the champ is able to take advantage and go the air. At one point Awesome shows off his amazing agility for a big man (in an attempt to counter Fennikusu’s offense) when he dives out onto Fennikusu, sending the two tumbling over the railing and into the first row. Fennikusu shows his resilience by kicking out of HARDCORE HELL, which only further brings the fans into his camp and enrages Awesome to the point of frustration. In comes a folding table and Awesome tries to Awesome Bomb Fennikusu through it, but Fenn is able to break away and hit the JADO VICTORY ROLL! Awesome is driven head first through the table and rolled up for the quick pin!!!

Winner : Fennikusu (6th Defense)



KOBE vs. THE WORLD! BARBED-WIRE BOMBS TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH: Kazaya the Great, DEVILBUTCHER Namazawa, Hakabutsu, and Kobe Extreme (Razor & Watsumi) vs. Tenzan Sasaki, “Deathdealer” Shiomi Yamakawa, Yojiri Onita, and Hideoh Kanemura

Wild contest that sees repeated explosions from wrestlers being tossed into the barbed-wire bomb ring ropes. Some five minutes in and the canvas is covered in ash and charred black with all the wrestlers involved harboring varying degrees of burns. The eliminations go back and forth until all that remains is Kazaya and Namazawa for Kobe and Sasaki and Yamakawa for the Vanguard team. Kazaya calls to the back, and out comes Abdullah and Tiger Jet Singh who quickly turn the tide of the match in Kobe’s favor. The fans quickly turn on Kobe, booing them out of the building. Sasaki and Yamakawa put up a valiant fight against the odds, but the numbers quickly catch up to them. Kazaya and his goons severely work over Sasaki and Yamakawa, punishing them. Kazaya refuses to pin them when he has the opportunity, clearly looking to embarrass them. This lasts until X-Nails comes roaring out from the back, driving the Singhs from the ring. X-nails single handedly fights with both Abdullah and Tiger Jet on the outside, and Kazaya and Namazawa finally decide to put an end to the match, pinning Yamakawa and Sasaki in quick succession.
