I'm going to go out on a limb here. I actually like Jay Lethal. Whether, he's a flip-flop, dime a dozen indy guy, or whatever he was called, I think he's better than what people are giving him credit for. I didn't see the PPV, but wasn't his victory over Angle more of a fluke than a clean victory?(that's what I heard) Also, Angle was already in a match before hand, so it doesn't completely take away his credibility.
On a side note, I hope his Macho Man gimmick doesn't stay permanent, for his sake. Lethal needs to realize that this is step one in developing your character. His Savage impersonation only gets him talked about. Any pops he gets are only temporary. The rest is really up to him.
While I like Jay Lethal, I'm also going to be realistic and say that Shelton Benjamin is way better.

I never said I thought he was better than Shelton Benjamin, or that he was similar in the ring, just that the BOOKING was similar to when Benjamin beat HHH. I agree the gimmick right now is horrible.... you'll not I also said I like it IF they use it to have him drom the Macho Man goofiness and make people take the X-division seriously... based on his RoH work, I think Lethal could pull that off, especially if they start him off by beating Nash clean (or just beating the crap out of him back stage if he can't wrestle) I'd also agrue that Lethal has had big matches before... IIRC, just before Jarrett left TV he fought Lethal for the title and they sold it as Lethal being a huge prospect (just before the Macho Man thing).. I THINK he had the match won before Steiner hit the ring, but I don't remember exactly. I'm not under any sort of delusion that this would happen, but I do think it would work if done right. H61 brings up a good point, Joe probably could have carried a poster of the ultimate Warrior to a good match/feud in 2004. I do think with Shelly, Daniels, Low Ki, Kaz, etc the X division as is could be really great if they stopped making it a comedy skit. To be honest, if I was booking, I would have had Daniels or Shelly be the ones to beat Angle, to give some 'star power' (such as they have) to the belt, and attempt to bring it back...but that's not what happened, so we'll go with this

If you want to see an example, look what Russo did with Billy Kidman when he pushed him into the feud with Hogan. Save for Kidman not being the comedy act that Lethal is, that is a much more similar situation. I didn't really watch much WCW, but from reading a bit about it I think that's more what I WANT to see happen with NASH, more than being similar to the PPV... Lethal won IN THE RING, in a fairly clean match, rather than a backstage attack.. did Kidman every actually pin Hogan? (the bio a found didn't make it clear)

I THINK he had the match won before Steiner hit the ring, but I don't remember exactly. I remember this match very well. It reminded me of Tito Santana vs Mr Perfect on SNME back in the 80's. I kept cheering Tito on the closer he came to beating Mr Perfect, even though I knew Tito was going to lose. It gave me the same feel and actually made me a Jay Lethal fan. (please don't bash me for comparing the two, I know Perfect had a better career than Jarrett and Tito had a better career than Lethal) To be honest, if I was booking, I would have had Daniels or Shelly be the ones to beat Angle, to give some 'star power' (such as they have) to the belt, and attempt to bring it back...but that's not what happened, so we'll go with this I agree about Daniels. I would actually love to see Daniels win the heavyweight belt. I would totally mark out whether he's a heel or face. However this will most likely not happen anytime soon.

Daniels getting pushed would rock... especially if they signed Allison Danger

Daniels looks like he has Aids. I said it. He looks like he could star in Philadelphia 2.
Also, what a horrible PPV. Abyss is not a Main Eventer, Never put him in one again.
You have ALL these guys and you put Kurt Angle in 3 matches...? For real...? Whatever.
Dustin Rhodes...? Really...?
TNA sucks.

Not true, I know he likes CM Punk, and he certainly doesn't look like he's roided up.
