We've got 2 big rumor killers regarding top TNA stars. It was reported this week that Alex Shelly was no longer with the company. Shelly worked a worked a PWG (indy) show in California last weekend, which lead many to believe that the reports were true. Although Shelly is painfully underutilized in TNA, he is NOT leaving - he actually has over a year left on his 2-year contract.
There were also reports that Samoa Joe is on his way out of TNA. These reports are also NOT true. Joe has approximately 2 years remaining on his TNA contract. Joe DID recently turn down a contract extension, but the reason is that Joe is happy with his current contract and wants to evaluate things when that deal eventually expires.

I'm sure we'll know Joe's status near the end of his contract by if he's jobbing or winning whether he's staying or going.

Considering Joe is going to NOAH, a promotion that works very closely with Ring of Honor, I'd say Joe's on his way out of TNA.

I think Joe needs to go back to RoH and sorta re-invent himself... he's going nowhere fast in TNA, and, IMO, his work rate has gone way downhill (that could be booking, but still...)

Joe going back to ROH would honestly be stupid. What is he going to do? He's held the world title, held the pure title. Winning the tag belts won't do anything for him. He should just become a regular with NOAH. On the other side of the coin, ANYTHING is better than Takeshi Morifatboy as ROH champion.

Well, yeah, that's true, but TNA isn't working for him....
going to NOAH for a while would prolly work too.

He's the reason most of us started watching (along with Homicide) when ROH was truly a fake puro organization. A win in ROH kayfabe over Joe is HUGE. Not as much as it used to be but huge nonetheless. It wouldn't hurt anyone for Joe to come in and take a few falls. On the NOAH point, Misawa is a moron. Gaijin will always be second tier in his eyes and Joe would most likely get stuck in a tag team or in endless six man tags. He may get a title shot here or there but he's most likely going to lose. Misawa isn't Baba and people seriously need to quit thinking that he is. If he would book Joe correctly then I'd be all for Joe doing NOAH full time. As it looks right now he's kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place.

He had that chance with Davey back in February, and didn't. Beating Joe on the way out would have put Davey where everyone was saying he would be this year. And Misawa isn't anything close to Baba, but he's reportedly high on Joe, considering how much Joe's reportedly making working this next NOAH tour.

A win over Samoa Joe in ROH should only be reserved for those who are expected to carry the company in years to come. What makes people so high on Davey Richards to think that he could do that? There's nothing special about him, he's the same tired, flippity indy worker that we've all seen a hundred times. Gabe's a pretty freakin' good booker and I wouldn't be so casually dismissive of his decision to not put Richards over Joe.
I hope that Misawa does the right thing with Joe but historical precedent indicates otherwise. I've watched NOAH since its inception and while there have been periods of it bringing the awesome, usually you're just wondering why Misawa is such a terrible booker. I think Kawada would agree with me there.

And if Misawa's paying Joe a reported $500,000 to come over, I'd think Misawa is giving him the belt.

Hasn't flippity become synonymous with commonplace?
What's your source on the $500K? That seems absolutely absurd. With puroresu not doing well and Misawa bringing Joe in at that price it would imply that Misawa would be under the impression that Joe is going to save the art form.
The only way that that makes sense would be for Joe to take the title transitionally only to put it back on Kobashi when he comes back. There are so many questions surrounding Kenta now, though, that that is a completely different subject.
If that figure is real, and I have my doubts unless it's a reputable source, then Misawa is either a genius or a total freakin' fool.

I heard from someone that knows Joe personally that this was the offer that he accepted. And he's a pretty reliable source.
