I have not seen TNA for a couple of months. So I decide to check it out this past Thursday. And what is the first thing I see?
Kurt Angle running around in his underwear.
Some things I just do not need to see.

This week's Impact was one of the worst hours of pro wrestling I have seen since the dying days of WCW. How anyone could think this company has progressed in terms of quality since their weekly PPVs is beyond me.
The most confusing thing about Impact is that I have no idea who the good guys and bad guys are.
I thought Triple X were heels, but their first match together is against Raven's team, who are supposed to be heels.
Then Kazarian jumps Raven's team from the back, but runs off when the heat gets turned up. Very heelish move.
Team 3-D are supposed to be faces, but then they beat up the announcers, who are putting over Scott Steiner, who last time I checked was the biggest heel on the roster, and his injury, making him sound sympathetic and heroic.
Kurt Angle is clearly a heel, but then they have him get beat up and battle back against Samoa Joe, who I thought was the face in the feud, in very good guy-like fashion.
Aside from the Angle segment being, for the most part, dumb as hell, the confusion about what was going on made this a terrible episode of Impact.

I feel sorry for Joe in that he actually watched TNA. Did Swarm teach you nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, they've had a hard time clearly developing their talent. Part of that is the inconsistent storylines that have become more and more prevalent upon Russo's return. They desperately want Angle to be a heel -- and I agree with them that he would make a great one. But he's so over with the fans because of his WWE name recognition that no matter what they do, the fans pop for him.
They just have no idea how to take a guy like that and make him into a total heel. They can't do it with these cheap-a$$ storylines they've been throwing at us like undercooked pasta against a wall.
Furthermore, they've consigned some of their brightest stars to a veritable dustbin. AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Alex Shelley -- all really good workers. TNA has no idea what to do with them.
To their credit, they're trying to move Joe out of the perennial contender position but, again, appear to have no clue how to do that.
For a while there earlier in the year, TNA was the best wrestling on TV. But due to really silly booking, Russoesque storylines and disregard for the fans, they've gone way south this summer.

TNA really had their chance and blew it big time. It's a shame because the wrestling world really needed 2 major companies.

I agree with most of what was said here, except for the last paragraph. At no point in TNA's history has it been "the best wrestling on TV," and certainly not earlier this year. The entire three-month countdown to WrestleMania blew anything TNA has ever done out of the water. In fact, the closest TNA has ever been to WWE in terms of product quality was in late-2002, and there was a significant gap even then. Truthfully, in terms of entertainment and quality of the show, TNA has usually lagged behind OVW during most of its existence.

My brother and I ordered the ROH PPV. He commented "remember when we used to get the weekly TNA PPVs and this was the kind of matches they were giving us?"
That's TNA's problem. ROH has decided they are a pure old school wrestling company. They have no aspirations of competing with WWE.
TNA started out that way, but then they slowly shifted to sports entertainment. Now it seems they can't decide what they are. Some nights are all sports entertainment, some attempt to be hard wrestling, most end up a mix. They decided they want to compete with WWE and rather than do so by being different they adapted to much of a WWE style. Only they aren't as good at it as WWE.

I agree with most of what was said here, except for the last paragraph. Difference of opinion I guess. I found the Kevin Federline thing, the entire pointless run with DX and the Trump-McMahon hair club for Lashley to be a real bore. I wasn't tempted in the least to watch this year's WrestleMania. Meanwhile, I was really digging Cage's run with the belt. LAX was, in my opinion, the best tag-team on TV. And Samoa Joe was hitting his stride prior to Angle coming in to dominate the show. Rest easy, though, it only lasted for a few weeks and TNA promptly buried any hopes of maintaining its momentum.

Honestly, I would love to see the people at TNA get their heads out of their asses and put out a product that was entertaining on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, that ship sailed a few years ago. Now they just put on a mess of a show that is populated with a bunch of WWE/WCW cast-offs and generic little guys sandwiched around a few talented performers. As for what you said about the WWE WM lead-up, the Federline thing lasted about two weeks and was wrapped up on Jan. 1, and the D-X run can only be seen as "pointless" because Triple H blew his leg out. You are right, however, that if you didn't enjoy the Lashley-Umaga feud, that is simply a difference of opinion.

DX run was pointless if you hate DX.
I hate DX.
I love watching Shawn Michaels wrestling.
Triple H is one of my all time favorites.
I hate DX.
Stupid, childish, horrible 10 years ago, only worse now. A waste of talent.

If you had the choice (and had to answer to shareholders) to make LITERALLY millions of dollars for a 6 to 8 month run with DX or to not make millions of dollars... what would you choose?

That's the thing. Everything the WWE, TNA and pretty much every other fed do is done in order to make money. That's their goal.

Yeah, and I get that. I know it's about the $$$ And to be honest it's smart of them to take advantage of the chance to make the money.
Still, I don't have to like garbage just because it's popular. I don't watch American Idol either.
