Richard Trionfo sent word that at tonight's Impact taping, Samoa Joe won the TNA X-Division championship during a Three-Way match with Jay Lethal and Chris Sabin.
The Victory Road PPV will now be Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe vs. Team 3D with all of their respective championships on the line.

So....they gave Joe the X division title again? Whaaaa?

If this means Jow will focus on the X Division I don't have a problem because he puts on solid matches with the X guys. But if he's just going to bounce around the card like AJ Styles did back in 2005-2006 then I don't know what to think.

I'm suspecting this will lead to a title vs title WM VI style match between Joe and Angle.

EDIT: I suppose you did and it still leads to this matchup but 2 PPV's from now with Joe and Angle as tag champs.

I really hope TNA is trying to swerve internet wrestling community, because this just sounds lame. If Joe won the X-title and faces Kurt, title for title, fine. But to have them complete for the tag team belts is just plain retarted.

Keep Joe in the x division! It will open slots for WWE castoffs and legends past their prime for years to come!

I predict that within a couple months we will be seeing a Joe vs. Nash vs. Abyss triple threat match for the X-Division title.

I actually think this could be really cool. Joe wins the X belt, Joe and Angle go on to win the tag belts, and predictably, they get fed up with one another and have Joe vs. Angle XXVIII or whatever it is now, with the winner claiming all of the gold in TNA for himself.
The only problem, of course, is that they'd book Angle to win.

If Joe tried to shake his hand, and Angle beat him up, why would they want to team together? The only way you could do it is the way Benoit beat La Resistance for the tag belts when Edge was a no-show. I doubt TNA will do this.

I think giving Joe the X-Division belt could be good... if they use to to get the belt credibility back, but I suspect this "all titles on the line in one match" thing is TNA's answer to WWE's "night of champions"., and something strange will happen.

Mmmm, besides....they need to put Joe somewhere while they start running Angle vs RVD for 3 consecutive PPVs.

Didn't WWE do this back in 2001 with the Power Trip and the Brothers of Destruction?

Now after watching it, it's even more lame. I don't mind Angle being a heel, and I agree with him when he said "Will you get your head out of your @ss?"

Reports are now that Jarrett will win one of the belts at one of the next TV tapings and then win the TNA title. I'm guessing that they'd have him team with someone to get the titles off the Dudleys so that they don't have to have them in this stupid match. 3D should never, ever be main eventing the PPV. I figure Jarrett and Sting will win the tag straps and then face Joe and Angle at the PPV.

Jarrett won't touch the TNA Title for a long time, if ever again. That's just my gut feeling. If he and Sting became tag champs, that'd be cool in my book.....but I seriously doubt Jarrett will put the big title on himself anytime soon. You made up those reports, didn't you?

Do you honestly think TNA is stupid enough to put 3D in the main event vs Joe and Angle. That would be almost too retarded for TNA. Note, I said almost.

I agree with Havoc here, to an extent.
There's no way a main event of 3D Vs. Joe-Angle for all the belts stands...NO ONE would buy that... NO WAY 3D could possibly win, and everyone knows it, not to mention the general crappiness of the probably match.
I think Chris Harris gets a new partner and takes the gold from the Dudleys... they seem intent on pushing him... maybe Eric Young? THAT would be interesting, especially if they put them over..
Unfortunately, I think Havoc's idea of Jarrett and Sting FAR more likely.
