Not too bad of a show. Shouldn't have kicked it off with a JJ win though.
They should've showed Angle-Joe 2 instead of 1.
Showing the LAX-Styles/Daniels match from BFG was a smart move. One of their best matches to date.
As much as I enjoy seeing Hogan get beat up, I'm a bit tired of them re-playing the Japan clip when JJ attacks him, portraying it like Hogan was an official part of the company. They'd be further ahead never mentioning Hogan at all.
I was hoping the swerve was on and Y2J was going to walk out at the end when Christian was in the ring. Oh well; it's probably going to happen sooner or later anyway.
Again, not bad.

I watched parts of the show, and it was OK. I had already seen most of the matches, but they had a decent selection.
It still makes little sense, though, why TNA chose to run this rather than a live, 2-hour, day-after-PPV show when the company had an opportunity to do so unopposed on a Monday night. It is almost as if the people in charge no the product they are currently airing on Thursday nights is awful and would rather just show a select few matches from the past two years that were pretty good.
In actuality, it would seem like those who decide to watch Impact this Thursday based on tonight's show will probably be disappointed in what they see. After hearing Mike Tenay and Don West reiterate time and again that TNA is "where wrestling lives," a newcomer to the product would most likely tune into Impact and expect to see actual wrestling, but will probably get treated to about 10 minutes of in-ring action and a smorgasbord of pointless skits and stupid, humorless comedy bits.
Oh, yeah, did anyone else notice the music running in the background of the Kurt Angle vignette was the menu music from the Monday Night War DVD? Man, somebody on the production team has a set.

Was it just me or were they doing some weird movie style editing or something in the match where a guy would do a move, the screen would like pause and change angles, then the move would finish? I saw this in a tag team cage match and was so disgusted I turned it off after that.
What was that?

I think I know what you're talking about. Didn't they do that in one of the older WWE Smackdown games when you hit your finisher?

Kinda like when Goldust came to the ring. It was OK for Goldust because it was just his entrance and it was supposed to be like the movies but during the matches really detracted from them.

MTV actually did this a few years ago for one of its awards , and it killed that show for me, too.

Nothing about the show overly impressed me, but with that being said, I enjoyed the matches they aired. I wish they would of ran the matches in their entirety and just picked up where they left off after commercial breaks. As a fan of wrestling you really can't complain, you got 5 PPV matches for free. The show was obviously intended for those who havenever watched TNA, before, to give them a taste of what their PPVs are like. And they do have a track record of putting on good PPVs.
Hogan getting destroyed by JJ is funny everytime I see it. I Hate JJ, but Hogan getting beat down rocks hard.
The Daniels/Styles /LAX cage match was indeed a great match. When the Detroit fans start chanting "This Match Rules", you know that the match rules.
I wish they would of aired the Joe/Daniels/Styles 3-way Dance instead of either the King of the Mountain or Sting/JJ. That match was true awesomeness, and anybody who was watching This is TNA that was a newcomer to TNA would of been converted by that match alone.
Angle/Joe 1 was alright.. Despite Angle's lack of health, he still has the ability to put on quality performances.
I didn't mind them switching between cameras like they did. They kept it at a minimum so it didn't bother me too much. Had they continued to do it more, I might of been turned off. But as it was, the show was good and definitely not a complete waste of 2 hours.
Elevation X? I'm betting it's just a scaffold match with f'd up rules.

I must've missed that one. Yeah like the time JJ won that cluster [censored] match and all the fans threw garbage at him and all over the ring...that was a good one... oh and the one where the belt changed hands on a Disqualification that was a really good one... and how can we forget the one where the building caught fire I mean c'mon that was better than any Wrestlemania I ever saw... TNA rules. As in rules at totally sucking.

I think production value and whatnot aside, TNA really blew it here.. had they used their current guys to put on a near-PPV level show, they could have won some real new fans.. putting on a highlight show? not so much...
I know I personally wasn't the least bit interested in watching, and, while the ratings were slightly higher than your usual show, I think they would have been a whole lot better with some good, new stuff.
Judging by the lack of feedback on the show received by the (fairly pro-TNA) Observer seems to indicate I'm not the only one who didn't care.

Here's the thing. Who is always in the main events?
Sting, Angle, Christian, Jarrett (until his recent leave of absence), Rhino, and sometimes SJ and AJ Styles.
They've brought back Steiner for like, the umpteenth time, why should I care about that?
They have Tomko, K-Kwik, Raven, Kevin Nash, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and all 3 Dudleys.
This is like watching WCW near the end.
It's all guys who've made their name elsewhere and they don't push their own guys.
This is the main reason TNA sucks. AJ Styles and Daniels should be established main eventers, consistently.
R.I.P. TNA.

TNA with Russo at the helm has blown pretty bad. But they aren't going to die anytime soon. They have the financial backing to keep them going and from what I hear the Spike TV people want to give them a 2nd hour.
The buzz about TNA has been, until recently. that they put on good PPVs. I've only seen a few, and it's been a while since i've caught one. But the ones I did order I did enjoy.
They need to get rid of Russo, because now, all the good wrestling has went out the window. before it was angles that no one could understand, now the angles make a little more sense but the wrestling is all but gone. DAMNIT!
FIRE RUSSO..HIRE HEYMAN!
Thats the reason I don't order PPVs anymore. I never know if its going to be worth the 40 bucks. Back in the day my buddy used to order all the PPVs and I'd watch them for free. Now, I just pass unless there is an event that looks like it will be a can't miss kinda thing. And there haven't been too many of those in a while.

Heyman will never go to TNA because I don't see McMahon releasing him. Even if McMahon doesn't want Heyman on ECW he stil has to realize that he is a valuable commodity. I personally think it would be awesome to see what Heyman can do with a roster like Joe, Daniels, Styles, Raven, Team 3D, Sabin, Angle, and Christian but I don't see it happening for a very long time.

It would be very cool to see Heyman in TNA. While it is doubtful that he, or anyone else, could make Samoa Joe as entertaining or as over as Taz was in ECW, it would be interesting to see what he could do with a roster of talent like they have and a financial backer with some sense on his team.
