I'am excited about whats to come during the week of the Prime Time move and that Sunday's GENESIS! Kurt Angle versus Samoa Joe will be killer at Genesis, unless they plan to have that at the 2 Hour Prime Time Debut. I know that I'm liking the direction TNA is heading and it will be a fun ride.

I'm with ya FTi...TNA has been doing real well lately to me. It's the fresh face right now. Also at the prime time premiere, Christian vs. Rhino in a barbed wire cage...that could be interesting. With Joe-Angle at Genesis, that in itself could be worth the PPV if it went well.

They as I have said before are just missing it. I am not sure if they are there yet...but I can feel something. The last PPV offereing was OK not what I was expecting...I was looking for something BIG. I have a real problem with Sting as champ. I used to enjoy Sting but sadly I think his time has passed. Angle-Joe does have me as excited about a match as I have been in a while. If it plays out for real as it did with LOW Creations cards this should be FANTASTIC!!

Not much else is know about this show, but the Cage versus Rhino Six-Sides of Steel Barbed Wire Match should be AWESOME! I would like to see a Three Way Match for the NWA World Title at Genesis between STING (C), Winner of the FftR and CAGE! Things are looking good for the last few months of 2006 in TNA WRESTLING! But thats just me...

I am looking forward to Joe/Angle but I think they kind of hot shotted the whole thing. That should be a match that shoud have a few months to bulid maybe main event Slamiversary. Get Angle back on his feet in the ring and bulid up a winning streak. Dont get me wrong the match will be awesome but I just don't think Joe is the best 1st opp. for Angle

They have a real opportunity to prove themselves with this new time slot. I'm rooting for them -- but I can't say I'm terribly optimistic. Kurt Angle joining TNA could be big -- COULD BE -- only if they utilize him correctly and really give us a reason to tune in other than to see him wrestle. I remind you of when WCW signed Bret Hart -- an acquisition that could have been huge for the company but instead only gave us another reason not to watch due to their incompetence in their utilization of him.

It's almost as if they felt they had to use him quickly while they had him and ended up playing their hand too soon rather than really building up to it.

On the other hand, slow build-ups haven't translated to great ratings either (see Sting).
Ultimately, they need to use Joe and Kurt as much as possible. I wouldn't make it a four-month program though. We'll probably see a disputed ending in this match, and each will move on. Whoever wins the title first will then have an instant challenger for the belt to "settle things once and for all".

That would be a good idea. Kurt's interesting in that you don't want to rush things too quick(the homegrown talent will get restless) but wait too long and he might not be in any shape to do what you want.

It's almost as if they felt they had to use him quickly while they had him and ended up playing their hand too soon rather than really building up to it. While I understand where you are coming from, there's one problem. We have no idea how long Kurt is going to last due to his injuries. Remember, he won an olympic gold medal with a broken friggin neck. He's had mulitple injuries since then that have required surgery. WWE did something similar with Scott Steiner. They new the fans would pop for him when he 1st showed up. (and they did when he beat the snot out of Hardy and Nowinski at MSG) They had Steph and Bishoff fight hard to get his contract as if he were a huge aquisition, and he got hot-shotted to the main event against Triple H. Because of his multiple muscle tears, and other miscellanous injuries, they had no idea how long he would last, and therefore had no big plans with him after that. While I apologize to all members on the board for comparing Scott Steiner to Kurt Angle, I think TNA may be worried about how long Angle will last. Rather than have him take risks against other guys that aren't going to attract as much attention, hot shot him to a match with Samoa Joe in case he doesn't last much longer. Plus, every TNA fan, and lots of other fans want to see this match right away!

I do see some of the opposing points about using Angle now I would hope that with the reduce scedule in the ring on the road 4-5 months wrestling in TNA would be much easier then 4-5 months on the road.
As for comparing the quick pop of this angle to the slow bulid of JJ/Sting I am going to have to disagree a little bit. To me Sting is viewed as a guy who still is a big name although past his prime. Many fans since Angle is practicaly right off WWE TV he is still in the prime of his career. Besides the fans are really behind Joe/Angle as it is a unique matchup as opposed to JJ/Sting which just reaks of WCW 2000 and/or WWA.
I dont think the fans were really salivating for JJ/Sting but I think if you held it off a few months they woudl be salivating for a Joe/Angle match.
To me Angle's 1st match in TNA was going to be a big deal regardless and a matchup with Joe could have waited a few months.

I don't want to come off as bitter about TNA either. I love that there is another wrestling organzation out there to watch on national TV. I still think there's a lot to be excited about. Hey Cage/Rhino in a barbed wire cage sounds great! very excited to see that.

The winner of the F f t R Tourny will take on Kurt Angle at the Primetime debut of iMPACT! Not sure how this'll turn out, but I can see Joe attacking Angle and making this either a CO, DQ or a DRAW in the match. Myself and a few friends are going to have a TNA Party during the Primetime debut, it's going to be a blast!

I'll be honest - I am not happy that Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe are going at it this soon.
Despite the lack of number increase in the weekly ratings, Kurt Angle coming to TNA is a good thing for the company. He is a solid performer who can only make a product better. However, you are throwing the two men who should be in a program at each other right off the bat. While it is clearly what fans want to see, I would have held it off until next year.
Here's why - Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe are two of the most talented men in the young history of that company. The fan support for both of them is strong, and well earned in my opinion. But in putting them together so quickly, you are exposing the situation to two inherant dangers:
1) You could expose the weakness of one of the performers. The hype going into this match is insane, and if it fails to live up to anyone's expectations, it will negatively affect one or both of these men's careers. I know a lot of people may scoff at this, but how many other matches have failed to deliver on their superstar billing? Can anyone else remember a great match Bret Hart had in WCW? While both of these men have the skills, a bad match this soon after Angle's debut could cripple future pushes for both men.
2) Considering that this could happen, why not use these men to give some rub or push to other talent in need of development? Why not Angle vs. Christian? Why not Samoa Joe vs. Robert Roode? Let's take two of the top guys, let them build themselves and the talent around them, and then have not only a more built up match, but also have a stronger overall roster.
That's just me. I hope I'm wrong... but I doubt it.

The JOE / ANGLE FEUD is just starting, and I think and hope that this will be a solid match and I know that TNA needs to pull out the stops for the Primetime debut and the PPV, I agree that this could really hurt TNA and those two wrestlers... but I have to say it will workout well.

TNA has a long history of blowing thier wad too soon on just about everything except getting the belt off of Jarrett so no one should be shocked they hot-shotted Joe vs. Angle... which is even more stupid considering just last month and "undefeated" Joe pinned the champion and still has yet to get a shot...hell, he wasn't even in the cluster fuck battle royal... lol...this company is just crap from top to bottom...they can't do a damn thing right if thier lives depended on it. STRONG!

Normally I would agree with the last two posts, but most feuds in wrestling do not include a guy who's capable of keeling over at any moment. Cynical as it is, TNA is best served to get this feud going ASAP.
Besides, TNA has really only pulled off one long-term angle in the promotion's history (Raven's chase for the NWA title) and they still screwed that one up in the end.

My only problem with the booking of Joe-Angle is that I'm not really sure what they're on each other about. It seemed like Angle showed up and then all of a sudden Joe wanted to have a feud with him. Wierd.
That said, I'm keen to see the match. I think these two will put on a good - if not great - series of matches. I just wish they had something tangible to fight about, like the title belt or something.
Or even a *shot* at the title belt.
Some - any - reason for these two to go at it like gangbusters.

As far as the Prime-Time end of things I was reading something about AJ Styles may becoming more of a centerpiece on TNA TV soon. Since Russo is a big fan of Styles and thinks that TNA’s move to primetime is perfect to re-establish him as one of the company’s top stars.

STRONG! TNA has a lot of problems, I'l never argue with anybody to the contrary. I think however Swarm is going overboard with some of his comments. It's easy to find all the faults in a company when thats all you're looking for. Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angel in prime time will be awesome...at least i hope it will be. And I'm sure TNA will bring in pretty good numbers with the amount of people who will tune in to see the match. Thats a great match that has been booked on free TV, and is in a way, every smark's dream match. Hopefully TNA, Joe, and Angel can pull it off well. if not..let the hate flow my brothers.
