Just caught this tonight and it was a pretty good show. The Angle-Joe showdown at the end was cool, especially when Jarrett snuck into the ring to steal back his belt. Good heel work by Jarrett there, but I wish he and Sting would have been on the show in some capacity. To have literally no "live" hype for your supposed biggest PPV ever was a weak point.
Senshi is cool. That double stomp move he hit on Sabin was great.
The Nash "press conference" was hilarious. Nash is the comedy king of wrestling.
Jake Roberts was okay but it sounds like he has emphazema or something; like he was struggling to get the words out.
I give it a 7/10. It's getting better.

Truthfully, Sting is probably going to be gone for good at the end of the year, maybe that's why they aren't pushing him as hard.
I remember the Jake-RKO segment a couple years back on RAW and he sounded that bad then.
I hope to check it out on Saturday

Maybe. On Sting's Return of an Icon DVD, he said he could see himself staying into '07, but probably not much longer than that...so he may not be out as soon as you're thinking.

Not that I'm hoping he leaves though, he's one of my all time favorites. And I'm sure he's a good influence in the locker room.

I agree that this was a really great show leading in to the PPV. Jake sounded terrible, but the crowd gave him some mad pops. A little legend power like him never hurts, it's better than seeing Buff and Lex who did nothing for me. Sting, I hope he wins, I still enjoy seeing him, but seeing Joe parade around with the belt makes me wonder if they're whetting our appetites to see our reactions to his if he were champ. I'd love to see him and Angle go for the title. It'll be interesting to see where they go with the belt after the PPV. The whole show was solid and the PPV looks great. It's nice to see TNA put on good shows and let people know that they mean business.

I just watched the show on DVR and I'm impressed. Two straight weeks with nothing that's insulted my intelligence, decent in-ring action, and the promotion continuing to turn in directions that I like. Does anyone know if Russo's actually booking this, or did TNA just say that to swerve all of us?
The Joe and Angle confrontation was the highlight of the show. I watch most wrestling from the comfort of my butt, but from the time that Kurt threw open the flag until the end of the Fozzy video, I was on my feet. Best ten minutes of a wrestling TV show I've seen in a long, long time.
Bring on Bound for Glory. It is on.

Personally, for me, the Sting hype videos are sending chills up my spine. And if he's overhauling his look again, even if into a "hybrid" Sting, then I doubt it's just for another two months of wrestling.
I'm thinking Jake's going to be sticking around in some capacity, too...since they went to the trouble of concocting a ring entrance for him. But his inability to lug the snake was kinda sad.

I didn't get to see Impact but I've just figured it all out. Has anyone notice that this improvement in the TNA product began while Swarm has been on sabbatical. Coincidence, I think not.

I myself have wondered if he's bothered watching it since not being here...I mean really, what would be the point...

F'N GREAT SHOW! I was suprised when Jake the Snake Roberts came-out, I knew he wanted to work in TNA but this soon, it was cool to see him and I hope he stays around for a spell. That HeadButt was killer, can't wait to see BFG!

Definately the best TNA in a while.....
the good: Joe/Angle was awesome... I can't wait for them to have a nice long PPV Match
Senshi demolishing Lethal, Dutt and Sabin... I'm thinking these two move down the card for a while(maybe to feud with Nash and Shelley again), and Austin Starr steps up to feud with Senshi next.
Nash is comedy gold.. as long as he doesn't get in the ring, he can say as long as he wants, IMO
Totally agree with BDS on Jarrett...he's be well used the last couple weeks.
If they can make Road Dogg relevant I'll be very happy.
Bad:
The 8 man match was a waste... I'm really tired of AMW.. do something already!!!
Jake the Snake.... but he could go either way..if they meant he to look like a crazy, drugged out old man, then that cool.. it works for monster's ball, maybe... but past that... we'll see
The Main thing... TNA has an hour.... they ended 4 minutes early, and had two (granted very good ones) long video packages.. not much likelyhood of a 2nd hour if they can't fill the first..

Good: The ending video package with Jericho's band was great at setting up the PPV. Senshi sending the Jackass clones packing. I'd like to see Sabin get more serious after his loss to Senshi and break out from this group. Nash's bit were amusing. But where is this angle going? ? LAX - Styles/Angel feud has been very well done. Love to see the finish. AMW faces? Maybe so. Norman Smiley stills makes me laugh. Bad: Joe/Angle looked great. I see the point being that it gave Jarrett a way to get the belt back. But why give this matchup away so soon? Granted this could be a very good feud but they are on different spots in the card for the PPV. I didn't make sense...yet. Road Dogg's interview. I have no idea where they are going with this. Turning Jeff face? Or is it that famous Russo swerve. I'll wait it out but why else would you want the fans to feel sympathy for the dirtiest player in TNA for the last 4 years. Jake Roberts. He looked AWFUL and sounded worse. Get help buddy.

Couple more things...
Fozzy tune was good, but Jericho's performance it that video made me laugh out loud. Knowing what a clown he is, it just seemed funny to see him tring to act so serious while singing.
Also, does anyone know how Jake can legally be in TNA? WWE made a DVD of him and doesn't that usually imply that he would be contracted to them through the "Legends" program?

I don't think so. They made one of the Ultimate Warrior as well. They may have just signed him to a simple contract like many other legends. Someone pointed out a while back that most of those legends contracts are very short term.
